Where did this come from? Unless I'm mistaken, this was recorded at the old Intermedia Arts Center when it was in Bayville Long Island, NY. I was at this show. It was a little building that they put down about 60-70 folding chairs. We were right in the front row because the place wasn't even sold out. He also had Nana, Pedro Aznar, forget the big red-headed drummer's name, Marc Johnson was on bass I believe. It was an incredible experience, like watching these guys play in your living room.
Very beautiful version. Feels like Lyle wrote and played live lots of his tunes years before they were recorded. This is where his approach is different from Pat's, who writes and records very quickly. And this is why their collaboration is so efficient musically :) Anyway, Lyle as a solo artist is juste so unique.... Thank you very much for sharing ;) +++
@NicOzark Pat also played some tunes for years before he recorded them, like Better Days Ahead, Naked Moon and Half LIfe of Absolution (though the later two only appeared on a live album). Pat even wrote and played the first theme of The Way Up in the late 70s. Pat actually used to play most of his songs live for a few months before recording them.
Fantastic stuff - thanks for posting. Pardon my ignorance, but who's the guitarist? Sounds like Frisell on the CD version... he did a great job anyway!
Beautiful file, this treasure us carry to back in the time and us show the wonderful face of two
big musicians with yours original sounds recreating the first work of Lyle, with Marc Johnson,
Billy Drewes,Acuña y Nana, maybe one of the most magical records. Thanks Bathoshue.

La guitarra me recuerda un poco a David Torn.
