Recently (2004) archeologist have excavated the remains of a mighty hall in Lejre / Ledre near Roskilde on the island of Sealand in Denmark, which appears to be of just the right age ( ca. 500 AD) - so maybe there is a real layer beneath the surface of these tales.
Incredible! I thought no one would i.d. "Sins of the Fathers." The ethnic instrument comes right after "The Hero" and sounds almost like pealing bells. Keep guessing :)
Excellent! That's 3 out of 7. The others will be a bit more challenging: One is an underground band, and another is an ethnic instrument. The others should be a piece of cake. Anyone else want to name that tune?
what the fuck with this video i was expecting more not these shity pictures and paintings

The last one is Queen, 'The Hero'. Definitely distinctive.
The underground band is perhaps (with a bit of research) 'Course of Empire' singing 'Sins of Our Fathers' but I'm not positive of this.
I think the ethnic instrument must be a Crwth or a bowed Rotta, but perhaps just a variation of a lyre played with a bow.
I'm afraid that's the limits of what research can give me..*smile*
Fine job. I love the Beowulf legend and its many variations.

Hmmm...
I'm stumped. Perhaps it is a tiple, or maybe a tagelharpa or a zither. I just don't know. Oh well.

How about a list of the songs you have here? I know Hawk the Slayer, Prelude to Act III from Lohengrin, Flash Gordon -- what are the others?
