  • I heard that Jeopardy was an hour long before they cut down this version of the theme

  • my parents were on the newlywed game back in 1967

  • @TheMashwatcher585 Hmmmmm......... That's very sweet.

  • @TheMashwatcher585 Did your parents win?

  • @rcn63 My father told me that they were in 1st place untill the final question.

  • LOL with this first one I imagine Alex Trebek dressed in Disco garb rockin out like John Travolta

  • @LosAngeleno1959 Sorry about taking so long to reply, but....

HA! That makes me just XD!

  • I love the dating show theme!

  • OOOOOOOOO..... KKK...

  • haha.

have you ever heard the remix of the price is right theme? it has a DJ scratching along with it. its pretty cool. hmm, now i wonder if there are other game show theme remixes...

  • Yea... I have.

  • cool beans!

  • WTHeck are you saying?

  • LOL i was just saying that its cool that you heard it. rock on!

  • ............ OK.

  • Yeah, thats Dr. Robert Moog on the synth...righton!!!

  • What?

  • The Jeopardy theme sounds like it could work for Star Trek

  • I'm not fully sure about that.

  • From other posts here on YT, this was used, IIRC, from 1992-1997. disneygrab1, am I right?

  • Do not know...

  • No, this Jeopardy theme is the original from '84-92. In the '92 theme, the bongo-style percussion is a bit more pronounced. Also, the '92 version started at 0:19 of what you hear here. (i.e., the first part of the "techno" opening was dropped)

  • "Get Ready to Match The Stars!!!!" MATCH GAME RULED!!!!

  • YEAH!!!!!!!!

  • doesn't the tune to Jeopardy start to sound like the tune to 'I'm a little teapot' after a while?

    Just an observation

  • I have no clue.

  • i totally agree with you there.

  • With me or that guy?

  • omg yes; i always thought that was the song they played but i guess not

  • Which song?

  • i always thought it was i'm a little tea pot song- it sounds just like it.

  • I don't think so.

    sorry.

  • Hillary's right. The Jeopardy song does resemble "I'm A Little Teapot".

    The main piece, anyway.

  • O.K. yeah, very funny.

  • I take it you've never heard that song?

  • I have, but I don't like it all anymore.

  • Now I agree with you there. That can be an annoying-ass song once you've gotten older.

  • You're right, it also goes when you're 14 like me.

  • I've been there too, kid. I know. All the kiddie stuff is long gone to us by then.

    Anyway, thanks for the memories...

  • Sure thing. :)

  • One last thing: What was your name?

  • Frankie.

  • Mine's Andrew. Good to meet you.

    Thanks again...

  • you know..your right if you sing the lyrics along with main tune it matches

  • Yeah, very funny.

  • Actually, "A Swingin' Safari" was a big hit for Billy Vaughn and his Orchestra. My mother had the record and I liked it. It only stayed the theme for a few years and then they switched to another theme, I guess written especially for the show. Much like "Plink! Plank! Plunk!" by Leroy Anderson was the theme for "I've Got a Secret" for most of the 1950s.

  • Hmm....

    O.K.

  • Techenly, The Dating Game was really not a game show just Love Conection it was not a game but, they called it a game show when it really was not one.

  • What?

  • I like this version on Newlywed versus the ABC version.

  • ABC? I saw Newlywed Game on GSN.

  • Folks, it just so happens I have every theme. (From parts 1, 2, & 3).

  • Show me just how good you are with the themes. Do you have (1) the original Jeopardy! theme (when Art Fleming was the host) or the original Match Game theme (from the 1960s - Swingin' Safari)?

  • Alright, let's chat 'bout this.

    1. I only have the 84-91 theme for JEIOPARDY!

    2. The original Match Game, I'm not sure what you're talking about.

    And, I have ALL the themes from parts 1, 2, & 3.

  • He's talking about the original Match Game, which ran from 1962-1969 on NBC. The song in question is "A Swingin' Safari", a song composed and originally recorded by Bert Kaempfert.

  • Everyone else knows a lot more bout game shows than me. But then again, I know a lot more bout game shows than ASC2175!
