  • Where ever you are. God bless you Kool Moe Dee. All time greatest. I got through some rough times because of you. From O.G to O.G.

  • KMD was as bad lyrically as anybody. LL had no shot head to head.

  • i still feel this is the baddest diss rap along side ice cubes no vasaline there was no comming back for either of the two victims that felt the heat

  • Kool Moe Dee ate LL's lunch on this one. LL Cool J is a very gifted rapper, but he must bow down to Kool Moe Dee on the lyrics tip. He should say to Kool Moe Dee, (Daddy I don't want no more. I'm sorry, I didn't mean to upset you). Lolll...

  • OK.....and HOW was mama said better than this?????....Def Jam served LL well over time. And we know Moe Dee was telling it real when he said "You never had no juice in New York". LL might be the most confirmed softy to ever speak hard lyrics......fucking fraud

  • I heard this on the ending of A Nightmare On Elm Street 5: The Dream Child

  • its funny how ll cool j lost every battle he got into kool moe doe, pac, cannabis all killed him

  • You Wanna Battle Me on the Microphone ..Leave dat Crack alone!!!Lets Go!!..Killed dat

  • MOE DEE KILLED IT ON THIS. EVERY WORD.

  • I always felt like "How You Like Me Now" was a set up...and LL really didn't have a choice but he took the bait and it' no way you could listen to all the songs involved and say LL won. I will say that "Jack The Ripper" was a banger though and he got that off but then Moe Dee came back with this...and just murdered it...

    .lol

  • I always felt like "How You Like Me Now" was a set up...and LL really didn't have a choice but he took the bait and it' no way you could listen to all the songs involved and say LL won. I will say that "Jack The Ripper" was a banger though and he got that off but then Moe Dee came back with this....lol

  • R.I.P. LL !!!

  • Ummm... How could LL come out on top after this? Do people not care for poetry? Kool :

    1. has clearer pronounciation and

    2. is easy to listen to,

    3. he rhymes like a BOSS,

4.his diss is an actual song.

  • @michaeljfreak i like that that someone notices, he did have a boss type flow in this shit

  • nice song

  • NOBODY rode the beat of a James Brown-sampled track like Moe Dee..."Your rhymes are weak wack, how can you speak that, you need to sneak back, to the drawing board...Jack The Ripper? Down with my zipper, you get paid to be a Moe Dee tipster..." WOW!!!

  • Lower Level Lack Luster, Last Least, Lip Lover, Lousy Lame Late Lethargic, Lazy Lemon, Little Logic, Lucky Leach, Liver Lip, Laborious Louse on a Losers List, Living Limbo, Lyrical Lapse, Low Life with the Loud raps. boy You can't win, I don't bend, Look what you got yourself in. Just using your name I took those L's Hung em on your head and ROCKED YOUR BELLS!!!!!!!!!!!

Most rappers today! Their albums can't even match up to that 1 verse, Soulja Boy would get a HeadAche trying to write that.

  • Kool Moe Dee served LL in this song & the whole battle- point blank!

  • Kool Moe Dee v. LL Cool J was like Nas v. Jay-Z. The one who won the feud lost the war bc the other kept staying successful. Best diss in the whole battle was this song right here, but LL got the last laugh.

  • @FDR1945 yeah success money and all but to some people Money is not that big of an issues some people dont see the High living lifestyles to be a WIN just the way of life. So what Kool Moe dee is not a commercial dude he still is a better rapper than LL and won the War in my opinion

  • Kool Moe Dee couldn't hang with L.L. He lost this old school battle. Much props to Kool tho cuz he is one of the founding fathers of hip hop.

  • even though he didnt win this battle but this song is still dope lol

  • Kool Moe Dee should have made a video for this song.

  • It's sad that today's rap artists lack the true style of rap battle without cuss words.

  • Moe Dee was just Lyrically SUPERIOR to LL!!! This Battle was a no contest.I miss my ole school Rap

  • i dont know what this song has to do with nightmares lol but this was the song for the ending credits for a nightmare on elm street 5 lol great song

  • am agree with you @finisher3x

  • This Song is Great

  • @snoop0851 It started how all ll cool j battles start..he hates on someone starts some bullshit and loses the battle!

  • Best diss ever

No cusswords BUT he completly destroyed LL

  • @yakuzamadddogg I agree with you/ I love this song I know all the lyrics took me two months to memorize. The first time I heard it was on the night of january 8th 2011/ I was bored so I decided to look up some hip hop feuds

next thing I knew was I found me a new song to listen to.

  • @lilwaynedotnet11 I did the same thing I was bored so looked at some hip hop feuds on Wikipedia and I ended up here. This is now one of my favorite diss songs.

  • @snoop0851 kmd tought ll stole his style on his album "bigger and deffer" and kmd provoked him on "how ya like me now"... thats what i know

  • @KINGMELLWO11 DUDE WHAT DO U THINK I WAS SAYIN MOE DEE WAS A LYRICAL GENIUS PEOPLE ONLY SAY LL WON CAUSE HIS BEATS WERE BETTER MOE DEE JUS WAS MORE LYRICAL THAN LL

  • @pooh77095 EXACTLY OR THEY THINK THAT BECAUSE LL IS STILL AROUND & MOE DEE ISN'T THAT LL COOL J HAD SOMETHING TO DO WITH MOE DEE NOT BEING AROUND ANYMORE!!! LOL THE MAIN REASON LL IS STILL AROUND IS BECAUSE HE HAS A 13 ALBUM CONTRACT WITH DEF JAM & HE OWNS THE MASTERS OF EVERY ALBUM THAT HE HAS & WILL PRODUCE!!! WHO WOULDN'T STILL BE AROUND?! LOL

  • Comment removed

  • man or girl, what in the world?, You sound like shirl the pearl, and you wanna battle me on the microphone?.........LEAVE THAT CRACK ALONE!!!!! LET'S GO!!!!!

  • one of the top 3 greatest diss songs of all time... over 25 L's in a row that make sence... truely amazing.... l could never hand with moe d cannibus and others.. he just had "def jam" and female fans...

  • one of the top 3 greatest diss songs of all time... over 25 L's in a row that make sence... truely amazing....

  • " You Got A lock on My Jock like A pit-bull!..."...Nuff Said..Moe got a raw deal...I blame it on the Chicks...lol...and punks went where the chicks went...and gave the victory to LL..not to take anything from L, but..Moe D straight destroyed LL in this battle...hopefully one day Moe D gets his just dews....This is one of my favorite tracks of all time...

  • WOW THIS DUDE DESRVES THE TITLE OF ONE OF THE BEST HE TOOK THE SO CALEED G.O.A.T. AND TURNED HIM INTO A JOKE KOOL MOE ATE LL LUNCH IN EVERY DISS HE DID AND LL WAS A HEEL OF A BATTLE RAPPER AND THIS WAS HARDCORE IN HIS PRIME LL BUT MOE D BEATS WERE WACK BUT HE DISPLAYED SKILL AND MURDERIZM IN HIS WORDS ON THOSE BEATS AND WHEN I LISTEN TO LL DISS THEY JUS DONT COMPARE LL JUS HAD BETTER BEATS OUT MOE D ON DEATH JAM AND HE WOULD BETHE G.O.A.T

  • @pooh77095 OK. Don't look at beats.Look at lyrics. OK. L.L. did use some good beats and samples. This track from moe dee was produced by a real musician and that's Teddy Riley. Music is just more than a beat.

  • True, LL has more than proven that he had more "staying power" than Kool Moe Dee did, but still...K.M.D. wiped his A** with LL's entire career- (Past and Present) with this ONE SONG!!! DAAAAAAANG!!!!! Dude, Did you listen to the LYRICS??? K.M.D. went to COLLAGE on LL'S kindergarten (Jack the Ripper) butt!!! LOL!!!

  • Hip Hop at it's finest.

  • i liked this.

  • @BRm2008 If you like the instrumental don't thank him thank lyn collins

  • This song was played during the end credits of "A Nightmare on Elm Street 5" & has NOTHING to do with it. XD

  • Some of the stuff in this song is in Big Daddy Kane - Nuff Respect

  • Tryna be me, now LL stands for Lower Level, Lack Lustre Last Least, Limp Lover Lousy Lame, Latent Lethargic Lazy Lemon, Little Logic Lucky Leech, Liver Lipped Laborious Louse on a Loser's Lips Live in Limbo, Lyrical Lapse Low Life with the loud raps, boy You can't win, huh, I don't bend Look what you got yourself in Just usin' your name I took those L's Hung 'em on your head and rocked your bells LL Cool J's heart should have exploded right then.
  • @CrtlW yeah moe dee killed that shyt. moe dee is a wizard wit words

  • @CrtlW you aint lyin!!!

  • damn, I neva, eva, eva, eva saw anything like this in my whole life...this is really hard!

  • Listen to his voice......

He sounds like he has a set, unlike that turd everybody loves now. I've always thought Kool Moe Dee has the perfect rap voice.

  • It is a DAMN SHAME what hip-hop has become. I am SOOOOOOOOOOoooooooo Glad that I never got rid of my record collection. OLD SCHOOL RULES!!!! At the moment my kids don't appreciate my old school music, but one day when I have GRAND KIDS I have a weird feeling that they will. I HOPE!

  • one of the cleanest yet effective diss tracks ever... he took care of business damn.. and what the hell do I listen to today? thats why I stick to pre 2k rappers ..

  • Brings back alot of memories

  • all these yrs later....love the line ' a fool and his money will always part'....koo mo d spent a lil too much time worrying about LL instead of watchin his bank acct

  • @gdub520 watcjing ur bank account ruins your music....look at these craps singing today!

  • this is one of the best diss tracks ever!!!

  • random as hell but aint their a part in boyz n the hood where in the background u can here this song coming from a car?

  • @KillerTofu1996 also on nightmare elm street 5 soundtrack

  • he killed him

  • that fool buddybitch really is telling, that Kool Moe Dee is & was wack! LOL

Listen, he is one of the best mc`s ever. All nowaday rappers together couldn`t put a verse like Moe did.

  • Lower Level, Lack Luster, Last,Least, Licked, Liver, Lousy, Lame, Late, Lathargic,Lazy, Lemon, Little Logic,Lucky Leech,Liver Lip, Laborious Louse, on the Loser's List,Live in Limbo, Lyrical Lapse, Low Life, with the Loud Raps Boy!!!

  • @drksyde72 Yeah, he took those L's, put it over his head and rocked his bell! LOL

  • Just usin ya name I took those L's Hung em on ya head and rocked yo Bells!!! The sickest part of the track!!!!!

  • There's no way LL won this beef or any other.

  • nah canibus killed ll cool j

  • Moe Dee killed it 4:11! Told L what to do with his career and that's what he did.

  • @AnuthaLevel dood u need your fucking head examined !!!! tell me this u can honestly sit in a room n listen 2 kool moe dee for a few hours ???? i think not after like 5 mins id chew my fucking leg off !!!!!HE FUCKING SUCKS AND IS A NOBODY SHITTY LYRICIST THAT JUST CAME ALONG WITH HIP HOP HES NOBODY NEVER HAS NEVER WILL B !!!!!!!!!!

  • @buddybag I guess you had to be there youngster...this dude is one of the true Father's of Hip Hop...you need to recognize and show some respect.

  • @buddybag Ok, I'll bite...who do you think is a skilled lyricist? And this is a serious question, not looking to start a war.

  • When My Mom first heard this song in 1989 when she saw Nightmare On Elm Street 5 when she was 19, She thought the Music Department of the Movie had a bad choice of choosing a song at the end of a Horror Movie because the song is about Kool Moe Dee dissing LL Cool J and the song didn't seem to have anything to do with the Movie at all.

  • @Mr1991ladarius i agree with your mum man!! hehe nice one :)

  • Jack the Ripper was simplistic. Of course the beat was hitting and made you jump, but the song content was a joke compared to this Moe Dee hit. This song was LOADED with total disses and fluid content. Mama Said Knock You Out did make me say "damn!" when I heard it though...Moe Dee just couldn't change it up with the upcoming hip hop trends. Wished he could have gotten with another rapper for some hardcore beats like LL had...cuz much of LL was just beats back then.

  • LL failed miserably thats why hes labeled as a singer not even a rapper lol

  • "leave that crack alone"

  • It's 2 bad Moe Dee didn't have the sex appeal he wouldv'e been on top, he probably should have let Al B. Sure do this lol maybe that would've worked

  • Moe Dee revolutionized the battle game with this one!

  • Yeah Kool moe dee is a true battle rapper LL was just more was more popular with fan Just like with Canibus I think LL lost the battle but fame will make u win every time

  • Yeah LL is still around but let's go kill LL an you know it

  • KoooooooooL Moe Dee WON BIG Time... It's a shame his career did not flourish

  • Kool Moe Dee won... idgaf what anyone says

  • his thumb looks like a penis wtf?!?!

  • I remember this track and LL Cool J was out for 2 whole years after Moo Dee Broke down the L's. True LL career did last longer because he knew how play the game in the record insdustry. Moo Dee was an OG in the rap game back then so he was old for the rap standards, but u have to admitt LL never could never top this dis.

  • @porto1968 u right LL didn't respond after this one, he let it go, but he kept going at canibus and canibus beat him 2, i guess he knew moe dee had real talent as far as songs and lyrics cuz moe dee made good songs too

  • @deteesfinest He did respond after this one... One of the verses in "To the break of dawn" is about Kool Moe Dee and Kool Moe Dee even had one more song about LL after this one that wasn't quite as good. Research.

  • This reminds me of A Nightmare on Elm Street 5

  • Nitro was meant to be LL's answer to "lets go". He agreed to let Kool Moe have his little run so the record company could cash in. This is why even though it seems like Kool Moe won he was dropped after his wave of popularity wound down.

  • wasnt this in nightmare on elm street 5 ending ?

  • LMAO@Leave dat CRACK alone!=This used 2 B th@ ish!!

  • his track sucks and him rhymes are even worse! He was the supreme 80's cornball with star trek shades and that fake ass old school accent. FAIL!

  • Count the cusswords in this track. Take note kids.

  • @finisher3x AHHH! Spoke like a student, I LIKE!

  • @finisher3x LOL!!!

    I always noted this!

    Awesome guy! No curses!

  • @finisher3x

so on point.... todays music is crap sorry...but its garbage!

this is real hip hop.... or real rap

  • who cares kool moe dee fucking sucks anyways!!!!!

  • @buddybag "leave that crack alone!"

  • @buddybag tell me what makes you say that

  • I like LL better than Kool Moe dee, but d@mn................

Kool Moe dee killed it on this one.

  • One of the best diss records of ALL TIME!!! HANDS DOWN!!!!

  • @MarcGizzle Not one of the best. The Best of all time.

  • @3sumforme no one of the best koe moe never diss poet after poet call moe dee out moe shut up fast the best is king poet and roxanne shante as for kool moe dee he stuck with diss that low class wanna be rapper call LL kool J LOL what a softcore rapper he turn out to become

  • @3sumforme no one of the best kool moe never diss poet after poet call moe dee out moe shut up fast the best is king poet and roxanne shante as for kool moe dee he stuck with diss that low class wanna be rapper call LL kool J LOL what a softcore rapper he turn out to become

  • Teddy Did Most Of Moe Dee's Beats..OG Emcee...LL's Energy Won It 4 him tho..My Opinion..

  • Moe Deedid win.

  • money dosent equate to skill

  • LL got destroyed

  • Kool Moe Dee's vocal flow on this track is old school but I think the lyrics can stand up to most of what we hear today in Hip Hop.

  • "And leave the real hard rhymes to the hard rhyme experts

If you don't, boy you'll get hurt

Feel like dirt and have to revert

To comin' on stage butt naked

To make up for what you can't do on record"

    ***WARNING major lyrical beatdown***

  • Kool Moe Dee was the only rapper who gave LL a real hard time, Canibus got LL with Second Round KO, but Moe Dee destroyed LL in some of his songs!

  • One of the reasons KMD went quiet in the late 90s was because of a radio white-out of him after he release "How Funky Can One Black Man Be". Mainstream radio programmers famously regarded the single as "racist" and took him out of rotation.

  • Hands down...Moe Dee is da man!

  • moe dee was a better lyricist... but LL brought better beats. I still prefer Jack the Ripper over this just because it has better beats.

  • I always rewind the credits of nightmare on elm street 5 just to listen to this song over and over again

  • Lower level, lack luster, last, least. lip,etc.... That was pure genius Kool Moe Dee..

  • "You get paid to be a Moe Dee tipster"

  • I used to wear this song out I played it so much.

  • Kool Moe Dee lyrically destroyed LL Cool J with a vengence on this classic track without question.Nuff said.

  • lyrically? yes. career? no. moe dee self destructed after death blow. vanished. but moe dee is oneof the most lyrically talented peotics in hip hop history

  • Make you say Daddy, I don't want none

Big Daddy Kane Used That Sample On Mortal Combat.

  • The DIFFERENCE: LL wrote what the ppl WANTED to hear ... KMD wrote what the ppl NEEDED to hear.

  • Both Rappers were successful in their own way.

  • LL actually started the beef. Moe Dee took it to wax first, but LL was talking first. You LL defenders can chill. KMD won, but LL has nothing to prove. One of the greats. As far as leaving in the 90s, remember, KMD had been around since the 70's. You can find Kool Moe Dee techniques, flows and vocabulary schemes in nearly every rapper out there. Dude with a big mouth, maybe, but he had a lot more to go with it.

  • The fact is L.L. took the rap style from KMD and instead of giving credit to the orginal rappers he mocked them and simply bragged on himself.

LL bragged he was the greatest but was always to chicken to do a LIVE battle.

Moe Dee felt he would step it up and shut him down and did. U will see other rappers rip on LL such as Ice T, etc.

The Amazing thing is it was real b/t these two.

LL was shut down for 2 yrs after this...came back with Mama... then Moe Dee returned wt Death Blow...

  • kool moe doe is one of the best with those" L" lyrics he threw down

  • @1qasdfghjkl23 the best diss record ever, POSSIBLke nthe "L" down

  • Dayumn... Tryna be me, now LL stands for Lower Level, Lack Lustre Last Least, Limp Lover Lousy Lame, Latent Lethargic Lazy Lemon, Little Logic Lucky Leech, Liver Lipped Laborious Louse on a Loser's Lips Live in Limbo, Lyrical Lapse Low Life with the loud raps, boy You can't win, huh, I don't bend Look what you got yourself in Just usin' your name I took those L's Hung 'em on your head and rocked your bells ...dayumn
  • That whole paragraph effectively ENDED the battle. DECISIVELY I might add.

  • I took those L's hung em on your head and rocked your bell.

  • why moe dee started beefing with L anyway was it really just to sell records and the sickest verses was all then L words got dayum he killed him

  • Do you know what I think about Dee? He is a guy with big mouth, but what if you do tough and even don't make it? I mean, where is his new album? He had his last album in 1995, and that was a best of. The rest in the 90's were nothing. He stopped rapping.

They say he comes back, well, I don't see a fucking thing. He won the war, maybe, but he is dead.

  • i agree. the difference between Moe Dee and LL was lyrics vs song melodies. Moe Dee had tons of lyrics but not that good of music. LL had awesome songs but his lyrics were just alright. Like when i wanna hear intelligent lyrics i listen to Moe Dee. When im drinking a beer and smoking weed i like to listen to LL.

  • I don't blame LL for not answering this. It would have ended his career. "Smart move LL".

  • he did answer it with Mama Said Knock You Out

  • omg first of all my kids think im crazy..so many memories.listen i hav been a cool j fan since day one had the kangol white adidas sweat suit even the radio.but moe dee ate his ass up wit ths one.i gotta say moe just s-it tore his a8s up. DAMN

  • You know what, numbers?

I have to say that I too was a LL Cool J fan. Still am. But, like you said....

KMD Toe (not "tore") but TOA his azz up in this song. That "LL stands for..." line was stupid serious! That right there stole the show for this song right her!

  • he "toe" his azz OFF!

  • Moe Dee finished him with this track. And by finished, I don't mean that he ended his career, because obviously L.L. continued to make and sell records, but no one in their right mind was confused about who was a better lyricist after "Let's Go"....Cool J did exactly what Moe Dee told him to do..."Wanna' survive? Stick with the love songs." Lyrically speaking, Kool Moe Dee was/is L.L.'s superior, regardless of what the record sales say...

  • LL sold out the true style...

  • Makes me wonder if Will Smith was influenced by Kool Moe Dee. His music was along the line of old school.

  • @denrizza And no cusswords!

  • SOUND LIK A GIRL. PUT IT ON UR HEAD AN ROCKED UR BELLS.How can you say you're the best?

Get put to the test in front of a million and fess

Tried to withdraw because you saw

The juice I got's not like before

    Huh, I'm formidable, unforgettable

    You're submittable, you look pitiful

Yeah you're headstrong, but you're dead wrong

Wanna survive? Stick with the love songs

Take off your shirt, flex and flirt

And leave the real hard rhymes to the hard rhyme experts DOMINATION

  • L.L. fired the first shot with "Jack The Ripper", but Kool Moe Dee tore him a new ass with "Let's Go" and "Death Blow"......Other than his battle with Cannibus, he never tired to have a rematch with Moe Dee....I wonder why? (lol)

  • Too busy making billions.

  • Too busy making billions.

SEE: How ya like me now?

KMD shot first, because he was offended by the 'thieving' without the due respect.

It wasn't necessary. KMD is a one-note wonder. you can put any of his beats under any of his rhymes. Ugh.

  • man this track is sick but both of then are awsome at what they do !!!!!!!

  • moe killed LL with this track!! moe d won the battle but LL won the war as we all know!! if moe d had better beats just maybe he's still around!! but you have to adjust and b versatile in which LL did!!

  • I'm in the minority with this longevity talk. Kool Moe Dee was rhyming, before wax in the late 1970's. It wasn't until 1980 until he actually recorded with Treachorous Three (imo one of the greatest groups). Had solid solo affairs and a classic in "Knowledge is King" in 1989. That's roughly 12+ years of solid longevity/body of work right there. Granted, LL had a great run, but after "Mama Said" his albums were uneven, unfocused, and his ego made him fearless to battle lyrical heavyweights.

  • LL's female fan-base kept him alive he used sex as a weapon to sell records! So a smarter businessman than Kool Moe Maybe......A better rapper ???? that's crazy and profane! listen to lyrical qaulity and not marketing skillz!!!!!!

  • true talk!

  • @DamianLindsay LL took Moe Dees advice and stuck to the love songs.

  • Probaly the greatest battle rap ever! This one ranks right up there with Ice Cubes - No Vasaline battle rap against N.W.A. This ones in the top 5 of all time greats!!

  • This song ALMOST single-handedly killed LL' carrer; good thing he bounced back with "Mama Said...".

  • Kool Moe Dee pwnt LL. I don't care if Momma said knock you out was big, I thought it sucked.

  • It did suck it was a comercial song what do you expect this is a lyrical songs this song cracks me up every time i hear it and i thought biggie was funny.

  • You didn't grow up when this shit was going down then fool.

You may not like the song, but by then, good lyricists were down played like Big Daddy Kane and LL was coming with juice.

  • LL might have had the better career overall but this track was deadly! Kool Moe Dee destroyed LL on this and in my opinion, won the battle between them.

  • Yes it is true! LL's universe got a new black hole after this track! and nuff of these gibronis were'nt even born when this was goin down 4 real!

  • @Philholmes68 Stop lying to yourself LL ended his career, LL is a hip hop Icon dumb ass.

  • @Philholmes68 man this was over in the first verse lol Moe Dee D.O.A. 'd him

  • @Philholmes68 Canibus beat LL in their battles too. However once again, marketing ruled out

  • ''Just usin' your name I took those L's

Hung 'em on your head and rocked your bells'' ahahahah .... great !!!!!!

  • I'm too potent,powerful and spiritual

    mental,emotional,physical and lyrical

you wanna beat me?it's gonna take a miracle..sadly that miracle came in the form of moe dee's career dieing

  • Now LL stands for, Lower level, lack, luster, last, least, ...............etc great fucking line. One of the best ever....

  • He killed LL on this.

  • lol.cool jay 4-life..but moe dee hit him hard wit this one oh yea he got him

  • Love this joint, but it's funny that it's the song at the end credits of one of the Nightmare on Elm Street movies!

  • Lousy Lame, Latent Lethargic

    Lazy Lemon, Little Logic

  • the beef was so heated that LL wouldn't be on self destruction cuz Kool Moe was up there, LL ended up writing Mc Lyte verse....

  • I'm a Metalhead(sorry) But this kicks the shit outta any hip-hop arrround today. probably because this takes actual talent to do. just like poetry man....
