Cliff had a solo. Jason had a solo. Robert haven't.
Robert is good player anyway, but Cliff is genius. Rob never could play like him. He did some mistakes, but it's the FUCKING FIRST TIME WHEN THEY PLAYED THIS SONG SINCE CLIFF'S DEATH! He musn't do mistakes in THIS song! Never!
And one question... Why Metallica didn't let Jason play this song? He could do it with more soul and energy.

Sorry to disappoint you, but Cliff wouldn't be able to play them at all since Cliff never played slap bass as far as I know. Cliff was a great player, but it is not proper to compare an accomplished musician to a player with an outstanding talent but only in the beginning of his career.
@HotXRock yes, but Cliff was a true shredder in the bass. Look how it's very difficult to Rob to play the song, same thing with Orion solos. And come on, Cliff died at 24, and Rob is 47.... give that 23 years more to Cliff experience... that will kick your ass, and all the other bassist ass!

As for Cliff, yeah, he's dead, that's why you can imagine whatever you want, and no living person can top your imagination. That's what always saddens me most, people don't treasure what they have.

@ThePanuch69 haha yet Jason couldn't play ONE bassline from The Call Of Ktulu correctly. Keep telling yourself that. Cliff was the best, but Rob has dissected his stuff, his style and has adapted it very well. I think that was a very impromptu last minute thing he did cause his distortion was added later too. We should all be celebrating their 30 years and not pitting Rob against Cliff n Jason.
