the time it takes to make the soap from scratch and melt it and rebatch it; is what makes it intriquing..for me. the more you work with it..the more it becomes your own formulation..making soap is an art not a hobby....for serious soapers..
I am a visual person, and milling makes more sense to me. I have some soap that I grated but didn't understand what to do next so I saved it...a year now. I will now process my milled soap. No give-aways here! ;-)
I tried this & I just detest rebatching. It makes no sense at all to spend all that time making the soap, then breaking it down & remaking it...too time-consuming for me !
i rebatch if my soap is too soft or doesn't smell the way I want it to. It can be fun if you toss a bunch of stuff that you normally wouldn't because of the lye such as pretty tea leaves and dried herbs and flowers.
Why can't you just put in the oils and stuff the first time you are making the soap before you put it in the molds?

Can I add some glycerin to my batch of hand milled soap when I add the other ingredients? Also how much could I add to a 12 oz batch of grated soap?
Thanks.

Thank you for your awesome videos! But
I thought french milled meant it went through metal rollers and turned into thin sheets then compacted into shapes.
This is hand milling then rebatching I think.

Thank you so much - I can't wait to make my own. Do you have any recipes using goat milk?

@wonderwoman27229 I would use many old little soap bars. Why would you - as you noticed - remake the soap you just made? haha
