Finger doesn't make any difference. The sound I think is best described as... well, imagine lifting sticky back plastic that's lost its stick and can be lifted quite easily, then put down & picked up again, etc.
You can see the grey patches at the bottom and right of the screen - this is a replacement screen, and I was willing to put up with the sound until the grey patches showed up... so I put this video up so the seller of the screen could have some idea what I'm talking about in my emails.

Have you tried with your finger or anything wider than the stylus. Does the sound change?
