Fuc* Schindler. Door close never works, the indicator timing is crap, and the chime sounds like a cow. My favorite brands are Dover & KONE

I not a Schindler fan at ALL. I agree ThyssenKrupp and Dover are my favorites and the antique Otis elevators as well.

I am a HUGE Schindler fan, but I like KONE more than Schindler. The only thing I hate about Schindler elevators are that the door close button never works. That's the quality of Schindler. Otis gives you the infamous door desies. Dover/ThyssenKrupp are my least favorite brands because of the DOVER BUZZ. Montgomery usally works, but some are Death-Traps.

NO!!!!!!! Schindler is my least favorite. Otis is my second least favorite. KONE is my seecond favorite. ThyssenKrupp is my favorite!!!!

The door close feature can be turned on or off and is setup by the field techs via a hand held or on board system. It may be that the code in your area does not permit this feature or that the customer simply does not want it turned on. Longer door times are the norm at such places as senior apts, hospitals, etc. and we purposely cancel the door close feature in some of those instances.

What I don't like about that brand of elevators is:

*As mentioned, the indicator changes too early.

*The noises are a bit strange to me.

I'm not a Schindler fan, either.

dontwalkhand, those indicators may be annoying and stupid to you, but they are there for a reason and are required by code.

It's only Schindler hydraulic indicators that are STUPID. And KONE acts the same on their new MRL tractions (KONE discontinued hydraulic)

I'm not quite sure how an elevator indicator can be "stupid" as it is only an arrow with a light and tone?. It does the job it's supposed to.

Yeah but Schindler hydraulics and newer KONE low rise MRL traction's change BEFORE it gets to/passes a floor.

That's what their supposed to do. They "step out" in advance. If a gong toned when it was exactly at the floor, you would already be past it & at the next floor by the time it happened

They aren't supposed to do that - but what is supposed to happen is when an elevator is level with a floor it does the passing tone, not before it is level with a floor.

Umm...say's who? I've been installing and servicing elevators for the past 25 years. Just being an elevator aficionado does not make you a authority. They are doing EXACTLY what their supposed to do.

That's Schindler and some new KONE's ONLY. Otis' elevators and ThyssenKrupp's elevators do not have that.

I hate everything about Schindler, the crappy fixtures, and their bell indicators are actually annoying and stupid! Schindlers suck! Get a real elevator like a ThyssenKrupp or an Otis! :D
