  • We had a 7040, put bigger injectors on it and jacked them up, it put out damn near 170 HP on the Dyno. Pulled a 6 Bottom 18 inch plow in heavy clay like a dream with it. It woudl overheat easily though so we almost always ran it without the side panels. It lasted us over 20 years and got a good resale price. I miss that AC Diesel Smoke, it had such a distinct sound and smell.

  • What motor does that tractor have in it? Im looking at getting a AC 670T industrial engine and am trying to find info on it.

  • @MrShawn305 Hello, I have a 649T engine.was a irrigation power unit. Basically a Gleaner M combine engine, has a inline simms pump on it. What was the 670T used in?

  • @Karl2070 Same thing as yours, it was used to run an irrigation pump. I ended up getting a smaller engine instead as it was more what I needed.

  • that should be pulling alot more horses than that. a good ac engine should always pull more that rated even with the pump turned down.

  • You say that it was 126hp.When introduced in late 1974 it was 135 PTOhp and tested in Nebraska at 136 PTO hp

  • when I was a kid my dad would always bring us into town to our AC dealer to watch them break in fresh overhauled tractors on the PTO dyno, which was about the cooles thing in the world. We watched them do it to our 7030, 7040, and 7580 plus everybody elses tractors.

  • That sounds pretty cool. Its fun to see them on the dyno. I personally like engine dynos better though.
