Juche is probably the most technically challenging of the 24 tuls. Very few Taekwon-do practitioners can get it absolutely perfect. As for the General, he was an icon. Korea was not a safe place during the occupation. If the Japanese caught you training in Korean arts (what few there were) you got imprisoned or killed. Truth is, I don't know or care one way or the other whether he was a traitor or not. That's between him and God. I do train in TKD (Moo Duk Kwan)

The funny thing is that choi was never worth a fiddlers fuck at tkd himself and knew next to nothing about combat of any kind

@forcelaw26 he was a leader and very influential in the korean military,thtas why he s credited with founding it,a lot of the technical work was done by other masters.

@forcelaw26 "crappy at Taekwon-Do"? on what do you base your comment? if you practice martial arts and you say something like that, then your instructor must be very bad. That is not only wrong but also disrespectful and shows no sense of martial spirit at all from you. General Choi was the founder of Taekwon-Do. he was a serious martial artist and an honorable man.

@Liquidcadmus HIs kicks look sloppy to me, and hes not the real founder of Taekwondo he just came up with the name. The guy was a idiot. Hes the Benedict Arnold of South Korea. Well, no he was brilliant in some ways. Brilliant that he could be that sloppy at taewkwondo and get credit for founding it. Brilliant in the fact that he turned a martial organization into a cult and convinced people he knew how to fight when he didn't. He was a traitor, not a man of honnor. He was a spy for north korea.

@Liquidcadmus @scarred10 His kicks are sloppy. And the only brilliance he had was being able to persuade others to follow him at something he was terrible at. I respect him as a persuasive liar. He was a traitor to South Korea. He was a north korean spy. He was no man of integrity. I am a martial artist which is why I only respect those who deserve respect.

@forcelaw26 I dont mean to argue. but I dont know where you get all your facts from. I live in South Korea and have studied Korean history. he was not a traitor nor a liar and he was a skilled martial artist. you are entitled to your opinion just like anyone else but I suggest you research things a little bit more and also practice some humility before judging if he was a a good or bad kicker. you are a beginner in martial arts and your eye is untrained for judging that. :)

@Liquidcadmus i spent 15 years in the itf,1985 till 2000.I was a black belt for 12 of those years .Gen choi never took part in anything resembling unarmed combat,he was a political figure in tkd,a 2 nd dan in shotokan,studied some tkd and took the rest from what was at the time korean karate.He was never an impressive technical master unlike the others,he just lead.He may have been honourable and a man of integrity but was clueless about combat.Ive done 3 courses with him in the 90s.
