  • pics or it didnt happen.

  • Yes from a game that has already been beaten and you START with all energy and reserve tanks. not impressive

  • zomg

  • Sequence breaks are interesting, and I'll use wall jumps or shinesparks to get to missiles and e tanks, but at a certain point, it just get silly. This is that point.

However, I do find this interesting. Even if actually getting to Ridley without the grav suit is impossible.

  • @pointkappa It's far from impossible, it's been done several times in several speedruns. In fact, in the popular hack Super Metroid Impossible, you HAVE to go the entire game up to the point where you kill Ridley without the Varia OR Gravity suits. You get the Varia from downing Ridley.

  • yeah, we could do that... or, we could just put on our gravity suit and do it how we are suposed to..

  • Respond to this video... TYYYY i saved at ridley no varia and stuck there for 3 years

  • Good. Good.

  • Awesome. Now getting there would be a small problem without the suit as you might lose about 3 small energy tanks from the nearest recharge station before you enter the lava room. But you would need to know the trick to recharge energy off of a power bomb. I think it was called the Crystal Flash. :P

  • that's proofing a point... but... thats looks really suicidal

  • -_- nice :D

  • It's amazing how many things come together perfectly in this game to make suitless runs and even reverse boss order possible. This being one of them.

  • The only thing I'd point out is that in order to do this, you'd need about 10-12 full energy tanks (maybe less with reserve tanks). You'd have to go purposefully pick up those energy tanks to get ready for this. If you're going for a low % you might as well skip four energy tanks and get the suits.

  • What did you use to record?

  • snes9x :)

  • pretty cool!

  • What exactly is the purpose of this? Just sequence skipping, or what?

  • part of a speedrun or a game style where your objective on the game is to kill ridley without the suit x)

  • @rmoni3000 - Which is kinda pointless now since you still needed space jump which you get after killing Draygon ?_? I think you missed that part.

  • go play metroid imposible and find out.

  • To nay-sayers: The Space Jump allows for multiple jumping in mid-air. He clearly wall kicked; you can see Samus hug the wall--a unique pose letting you know when you can wall-kick. The Space Jump wasn't used at any time. And those saying it was only done because of the Reserve Tank, you saw how he messed up and had to redo it. Lava damage accumulates FAST. The tank was used to prevent death. You your brains, people.

Nice vid here, I tried to get up there without a suit too. xD Failed though.

  • thanks ;D

    no more words :x

  • @Worenx - cough - Space jump.

  • @Zeithri - A Space Jump has unique poses that are different from the normal jump. A regular jump is a normal flip, where the Space Jump has motion lines. Do you see motion lines? No. Normal jump. If you don't believe me, look up Super Metroid sprites, and you'll find on any complete sheet two different jumping frames; one for Space Jump, the other for a normal jump. No Space Jump in the video. Also, I'm not sure if that even works under the water/lava/acid without the Gravity Suit.

  • @Worenx - the thing is that you can't walljump under the lava either with enough trust to launch yourself out of it UNLESS it'd somehow not count.

  • odd, but VERY interesting

  • assuming he wouldnt have made a mistake he could have done it.

  • no, space jump doesnt help making wall jump on the water or lava!

  • u mean wall jump? Space jump = floating in air. Wall jump = manual technique u kick off the wall

  • Nice but can u do this if dont have space jump?

  • yeah i seen it done without it but you have to walljump off the up most monster and you barely make it

  • btw what are those things even called? lol

  • wow, neat

  • Great!

  • Good way for a speed run kinda! ... Assuming the lava doesn't kill you by the time you get out, haha.

  • Sadly, it's not that useful since you have to get the Gravity Suit to go to Maridia, where the Space Jump is, though I may be wrong about it.

  • u must do this if u are trying the "no suit challenge" ;D
