Nader is a real prophet, look at what he is taking about in 2008. acutely speaking to the issues that have plagued the country up to now. Obama has been bought out. Completely.
in 2012 it has to be Ralph Nader or Ron Paul, and ideally, both!
The bottom line is: anyone who votes for Democrats and Republicans is 1000X worse than child molestors or anyone who gets a bomb and blows up a hospital. Demopublican voters are subhuman. They are simply mentally inferior to real humans, because they do not have the mental capacity to comprehend the consequences of their actions. That is why there is nothing wrong with setting them on fire or throwing them into prison for life. They LOVE that. It is just moving atoms around. That's all.
@mphello you may be right . one thousand children drown and ten thousand children die in car accidents a year in usa. with more safety features and less parsiteing of the usa from unessary things happeing. putting someone in jail thirty five thousand a year all that money would save peoples life.
Ron Paul is a nobody and a member of the Republican terrorist organization. He is an anthropogenic global warming (AGW) denier and an unrealistic libertarian living in a dream world where people are allowed to do anything they want without allowing anyone to fight back - either by using the force of law or the force of war.
Ralph Nader is realistic, he knows we need to get tough, AND (best of all) he SUPPORTS ANIMAL RIGHTS!
Ralph Nader needs to be cloned a billion times and made to fill EVERY political office throughout the world, from President of the United States to Premier of China to local county sanitation director.
Unrealistic morons don't get the concept that a person is responsible for their own vote. Nobody FORCES them to vote a certain way. Yes - Nader CAN be elected President, Premier, etc.
I read an interesting comment earlier that called Obama "Barack Thesame Obush" I thought it was rather fitting. I hope Ralph Nader runs against Barack Obush, otherwise I'm voting for Ron Paul.

Political Candidates, listen up: My vote doesn't belong to ANYONE but who I choose to give it to. All this talk of "spoilers" reeks of the idea of "entitlement" to me. No candidate is entitled to my vote but the one who I believe in. I didn't vote for McCain, though I would've preferred him to Obama, because there were other so-called "third" party candidates I liked better.
And I disrespect the way the interviewer had to throw in the "spoiler" comment/question on him like practically every other MSM news outlet. I swear mainstream news gives him time to speak just to bring that bullshit up to make him look bad to democrats, and that is all they end up hearing, not his views and ideas that would actually help the country.
This guy is under rated. I guess the guy that makes the most sense gets squeezed out. Gov't is afraid of a guy like this so we basically end up with two choices. Could you imagine if we only had two choices for cereal, ice cream, cars, etc? Yet, this is the world we live in for the most important job in the country.
I voted for him in 2000 and 2004, and for Ron Paul in 1996. Both Paul and Nader offer different options for the political decisions. I only voted for Obama/Biden because I could stand a chance that McCain/Palin could surprise everyone. Nader did not cost the Democrats the election in 2000, the ineffective and bi-partisan control of the system worked against the Democrats back then. J. F. Kennedy stole his election too, you all know that, it probably lead to his dead too by the Mob later on.
he would make a great president, its a shame we have a biased two party system... they need fair debates and a better system, yaknow?
(ps, why does his one eye blink but not the other? im not being mean- i totally would vote for him if i could vote, im just wondering if there is a nifty story behind it...)
I never voted before in my life until this year (and never planned on it), and I'm 28...then I got hooked on the Ron Paul message and Nader had similar views, so I voted for Nader!
Argh... third parties. Nader would be great as president but he just won't get elected. He might not know it but he takes a lot of votes away from the Democratic party. The Socialist party is also taking a lot of votes away from Democrats.
You agree he would be great as president, yet are too cowardly to vote your conscience? If this nation were made up of people who voted for who they actually wanted instead of settling for the same old shit because they are terrified of "wasting" their vote, then we'd have a president occasionally who wasn't Republican or Democrat and those two parties might have to actually start trying to serve the people they are supposed to rather than screw them. Or did you do the brave thing(vote Nader)?
That is wonderful, although I personally don't prefer Nader. It is wonderful that you voted for who you believed in, rather than being a coward and voting for who you thought could win.
I've been on the fence just like you but living in Washington (state) and we mail our ballots in.
I just filled mine out, was going to vote for Obama as the lessor of evil yes men but I just couldn't do it.
Here's how I look at it.
44% chance of death by lethal injection
46% chance of death by the electric chair
4% escape
Gotta go for the long shot people and if we keep chipping away maybe not this time but in 4 years another election will be upon us and maybe we will be a little smarter
if you want nader in office vote for him dont let the media fool you into thinking that he doesnt have a chance if everyone votes for him who wants to he will win
we have gotten to a point where all of the good politicians have to choose a "gang" in order to get elected. there are a few independents in congress, but, in my OPINION, it would be better if we had a government that handled the issues of america without influence of a party.
well, first, it's spelled "weimar". second, you want to compare america to post WWI Germany? and third, you're free to start a party and run for president here already
! there are five presidential candidates this year.
Cnn lies to voters everytime they say "the two candidates" Soledad Obrien do your fucking job and stop the political bigotry inform the voters and stop marginalizing third party candidates!
Consumers should expect a deep recession, triggered by the "stealth methodology" of the Federal Reserve to "depress" the market even while lowering interest rates in an ostensible effort to stimulate economic growth, an economic analyst charges.
"The Federal Reserve is directly involved in manipulating the stock market," said Mike Bolser in a telephone interview with WND yesterday.
What?? It be good for our safety that someone can't just come out of nowhere and have much of a chance of being elected??? What SAFETY exactly? Your safety in front of the TV screen, of being introduced to a new, different face and a different opinion? Is it a threat to your complacency? (mln9898, are you born in 98??? ) Is Ralph Nader out of NOWHERE?? Is he an alien from outer space or some European like me? Who is to decide who's viable, YOU?? Only a dictatorship, hidden or openly, can do it.
the two party system has to go. unfortunately, nader isn't the one to jump in between the two "gangs" and change this country. i hope i get to see that day.
oh really??? And what would you propose doing paydirt87??? You do know that one of the main reasons the Waimar Republic collapsed as Hitler took office was because they allowed different groups or parties that had formed to represent themselves and run for president. It was pretty much free to any formed party to run a candidate. Of course it wasn't the ONLY reason, but its a big one nonetheless. Perhaps you should read a little history.
yes, but do you think that if just anyone ran they would win? That's the difference. How am I advocating the elimination of the right to freedom of speech? first of all we don't have a 2 party system (strictly) and also the democratic and republican parties are pretty broad. I think it's good for our safety that someone can't just come out of nowhere and have much of a chance of being elected.
That would carry more weight if Nader had not only took corporate donations. But Bundled from corporations in his 2004 campaign. All you have to do is google. Nader and Republicans to verify that.
I think all of you should start the Nader party!!!
I don't believe in him. I am a strong Obama backer. I find it hilarious that Nader is calling each a corporate backer when he bundled contributions in 2004 corporate practice). Obama has the most 5 dollar contributions.
Naderites attack Dems more because they see us as the same market share of voters. I want that far left to leave the party. Republicans in the last years were lean and disciplined. They win, and we loose. Cut the fat.
Nader has a point, neither of the two major parties has Americans first. We are the people that "We the People" refers to, but it doesn't show in Washington. I am an Independent, because neither Party deserves our vote. If you have a moment and want to understand how we ALL are treated today, listen to Malcolm X's Ballot or Bullet speech. That same lack of concern from Washington includes ALL Americans, Corporations and special interests get all the love, and we are at the end of the line.
can i ask you somthing you say want the far left to leave the party obama is as far left as you can get so why do you root for him?republicans havent had majority rule in the house and senate in 3 years theres barely any of them to speak of in either now not enough to pass a vote so there not a direct influence right now congress approval rating is almost as bad as bush's presidential rating both of which is the worst in history all need to be fired and replaced that includes obama and mcain
Ralph Nader is on 45 ballots. When voters walk in and see an option besides the 2 that just voted away 700 billion dollars to bail out crooked bankers....Ralph Nader is going to be the best upset in political history. Nader 2008. Nader 2008. Nader 2008. Nader 2008. Bring back America for average Americans.
If he would have reached millions via latest technology beginning 2 years ago, he wouldn't have to beg to be part of any debate. He may be able to pressure for representation based on a massive following.
Whether one likes Obama or not, he used the internet very wisely while yet being relatively unknown in Dem party. Now view the results.
I don't care what independent party one belongs to. It will be a struggle to be heard so must use all 1 can and attain a base that cannot be ignored.
Paul used the internet to the fullest. And I mean to THE fullest. He still didn't get the response his camp would have hoped for. Why? Because he isn't a Democrat and he doesn't think like the rest of the Republican camp.
Nader is serious, but he and every other Independent will never win as long as these two "parties" control the scene.
MLK and others were able to bring attention to the ill of segregation. I'm sure others thought as you said that there's no way to change it at this time etc. But by bringing attention to it with demonstrations and etc, the media was unable to ignore them.
Nader needs to be innovative; think outside the box and not give up.
If could be done in 60s with civil rights movement then clearly shows that anything is possible!!
Ron Paul is a Republican and did particpate in the debates. Had the opportunity to speak with millions, but the masses didn't vote for him.
Nader just wants the opportunity to speak with the masses. And, the fact is the 2 party system isn't going to allow him to join in debates. So as an independent, one has to go to plan B.
There has to be another way to amass a strong measurable following. Has to be.
I agree also. If Obama keeps appeasing to John McCain on his positions, what's the real difference btwn the two? The Washington establishment is simply too scared of losing their power, money, and *cough* women, and once Americans find out that we outnumber them and have the power to vote for real change, they won't have anyone to turn to.
The only way Nader would have a chance is if they included him in the debates... it's a shame, I'm not crazy about Obama, I REALLY like Nader, but not as much as I loathe the McCain/Palin ticket =(
ralph nader is not a politician, he is a statesman. there is a VERY big difference. he actually discusses issues. we need more statesmen (and women) and less politicians. the 2 party system has destroyed america.
Nader is 100% correct in everything he is saying. As he stated, its a shame that any idea of having a real third party competitor it pushed into the abyss. I think if Nader had been in the debate and if he was on all the tv channels he would actually have a good chance of competing with the democratic and republican parties.
In '92 Perot was polling in single digits. They let him in the debate and the next morning he was over 20. He probably cost Bush re-election. After that, the two Crime Factions, er, political parties, made a deal and took the debates away from the League of Women Voters, a rigidly bipartisan group. The power brokers who own both parties will never allow a third party access to the public again. It will take a (HOPEFULLY NOT VIOLENT) revolution to ever fix this system now.
No doubt man, like I read in another post..."The American ignorance cannot see through the balloons, parades, media control and huge corporately funded campiagn budgets. Viva la revolution!
yeah, like it's unamerican to disagree, have opinions- The republicans are using the fear factor, and if Bush's election four years is any indication, it works on a lot of amercians!
Ralph Nader is a true patriot and cares about this country- Michael Moore has followed in his footsteps, albeit as a film maker, but in the same spirit, as one who stands up to corporate america. It's unfortunate that he can't raise enough money to be heard. But what do you expect in Amerika, where Sarah Palin, gets more coverage because, of her looks, than Nader. "The voice of reason is crying in the wilderness".
The real socialists are those behind the Federal Reserve and all of the banks who will benefit from the economic "relief" bill they are forcing on us. Unfortunately, they will only give us the negative aspects of socialism like controlling the value of our dollar and controlling our credit. We will never get the possitive aspects of socialism like free healthcare and free education, which the $700 Billion economic "relief" bill could have paid for. BEND OVER AMERICA!
I'm sorry but Ralph Nader is null. America will get a 3rd party when the people demand it and make it happen. The fact that we only have 2 major parties is because that is all we need.
Unfortuntely the media will not allow it to happen. Most people only know what they see and hear on TV/radio/newspapers and 99% of what they see is Dems & Reps.
They love to use the word "bipartisan".
Bipartisan means "2 parties", so the word does not allow for anything other than Dems and Reps. To me bipartisan = socialism.
Even Ron Paul, a republican, was often censored during his campaign, because he does not agree with the majority of his mostly neoconservative party.
If you are honest and not an extension of extreme right tactics to split the left vote(giving criminals the White house twice) then you need to:
-Run an active campaign, raise the issues, criticize the establishment, raise the awareness and organize the left as much you can;
-Direct your supporters vote strategically to prevent 4 more years of disaster for US,The old cold war solder and Oil woman = 4 more of Bush-Cheney. Everybody who voted for you regrets the disastrous consequences!
Unfortunately, no matter how good his policies are, when there is the risk of Sarah Palin being a heartbeat away from presidency... I mean I would hope an intelligent voter would make the sacrifice and vote AGAINST the Republicans rather than FOR Nader.
You can't be against the Democrats when all of your talking points are just repeats of Obama's stump speeches. That explains why Nader only seems to get votes from democrats and independents leaning towards democrats.
Open the Debates. Diversity is the mother of assent, not these hoked up corporate sponsored gimmicks to fool the American people.
Elitest US Politics: Republican-Demoratic Monoparty similarities: a lack of specifics, a reliance on campaign-trail sound bites and an inability to answer a question directly.
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
Nader needs to grow some cojones and join an active party. How irresponsible to stay independent when he knows he's not going to be in any position of strength to make a difference. Nader you're getting old and your talk is tired. Do something to make us proud.
Nobody took votes from the Democrats. Each voter had a vote that he/she could cast for whoever he/she wanted to. 50% of the voting age population even decided not to cast it at all! That's precisely the problem, Democrats and Republicans feel entitled to people's votes. That's why they hardly campaign in 'sure' blue/red states. Nader is the only one that campaigns in all 50 states, whether he's on the ballot there or not. He wants the issues heard.
Five minutes of media exposure is all Ralph Nader needs to light the fire in the bellies of the American people. He is the fire alarm that will wake up the American people to the burning of our democractic form of government by the corporate elite. He is the spark of truth that will ignite a blazing revolution in the minds of the American people.
If you really knew Obama's history, read his book, you would know, Obama is not gonna be ran by lobbyist or big corporations. Michelle and Obama are two very humbled people who gave up corporate jobs to help out their community.
Last week both mcCain and Obama said we need to EXPAND OUR MILITARY.
The USA military is deployed to over 150 countries. We have been occupying Korea for 50 years. We have over 60,000 troops in Germany. The US military yearly budget is over $600 Billion. If you don't know what "Military Industrial Complex" means, search for it.
Oh, dear you are so naive. It hurts to think there are still people out there who havent learned how shadow government and the corporate system works in america. You should learn quick that in todays US politics, one can not get nominated unless one is some body's lap dog. We are left but with one choice, vote for lesser evil. What you see on stage is the battle of the gaints, but the battle is among two little men who are tools and have sold their soul and their country.
Nader is a real prophet, look at what he is taking about in 2008. acutely speaking to the issues that have plagued the country up to now. Obama has been bought out. Completely.

true freedom is INTELLECTUAL freedom brought about by education.
It is our collective IGNORANCE that allows us to be so easily manipulated and enslaved.
why do you think every time someone wants to oppress a society, the first thing they usually do is round up the intellectuals?

Political Candidates, listen up: My vote doesn't belong to ANYONE but who I choose to give it to. All this talk of "spoilers" reeks of the idea of "entitlement" to me. No candidate is entitled to my vote but the one who I believe in. I didn't vote for McCain, though I would've preferred him to Obama, because there were other so-called "third" party candidates I liked better.

J. F. Kennedy stole his election too, you all know that, it probably lead to his dead too by the Mob later on.

oh really??? And what would you propose doing paydirt87??? You do know that one of the main reasons the Waimar Republic collapsed as Hitler took office was because they allowed different groups or parties that had formed to represent themselves and run for president. It was pretty much free to any formed party to run a candidate. Of course it wasn't the ONLY reason, but its a big one nonetheless. Perhaps you should read a little history.

yes, but do you think that if just anyone ran they would win? That's the difference.

It will be a struggle to be heard so must use all 1 can and attain a base that cannot be ignored.
divavivi1962 3 years ago
I'm sorry I don't understand.
If Nader was so serious about being heard, why didn't he use the internet? Youtube, myspace, facebook...along w/ his site!
Ryan Leslie & Tay Zonday are unknowns that became utterly popular by using such!!
I think it's easy to talk about faults/weaknesses of candidates and relay what you will do if you know you don't have a chance in hell of winning.
Can someone explain to me why Nader didn't aggressively use internet when had 2 years to reach masses?
divavivi1962 3 years ago
See under: Ron Paul.
Paul used the internet to the fullest. And I mean to THE fullest. He still didn't get the response his camp would have hoped for. Why? Because he isn't a Democrat and he doesn't think like the rest of the Republican camp.
Nader is serious, but he and every other Independent will never win as long as these two "parties" control the scene.
danzig2288 3 years ago
MLK and others were able to bring attention to the ill of segregation. I'm sure others thought as you said that there's no way to change it at this time etc. But by bringing attention to it with demonstrations and etc, the media was unable to ignore them.
Nader needs to be innovative; think outside the box and not give up.
If could be done in 60s with civil rights movement then clearly shows that anything is possible!!
divavivi1962 3 years ago
Ron Paul is a Republican and did particpate in the debates. Had the opportunity to speak with millions, but the masses didn't vote for him.
Nader just wants the opportunity to speak with the masses. And, the fact is the 2 party system isn't going to allow him to join in debates. So as an independent, one has to go to plan B.
There has to be another way to amass a strong measurable following. Has to be.
divavivi1962 3 years ago
Let's reword that....
2 party system isn't going to welcome Nader w/ open arms; will have to be pressured.
divavivi1962 3 years ago
agreed I say we all buy guns while we still can and put a little pressure on some people!
snaappp 3 years ago
I agree also. If Obama keeps appeasing to John McCain on his positions, what's the real difference btwn the two? The Washington establishment is simply too scared of losing their power, money, and *cough* women, and once Americans find out that we outnumber them and have the power to vote for real change, they won't have anyone to turn to.

Nader is 100% correct in everything he is saying. As he stated, its a shame that any idea of having a real third party competitor it pushed into the abyss. I think if Nader had been in the debate and if he was on all the tv channels he would actually have a good chance of competing with the democratic and republican parties.
raymirey 3 years ago 2
In '92 Perot was polling in single digits. They let him in the debate and the next morning he was over 20. He probably cost Bush re-election. After that, the two Crime Factions, er, political parties, made a deal and took the debates away from the League of Women Voters, a rigidly bipartisan group. The power brokers who own both parties will never allow a third party access to the public again. It will take a (HOPEFULLY NOT VIOLENT) revolution to ever fix this system now.

-Run an active campaign, raise the issues, criticize the establishment, raise the awareness and organize the left as much you can;
-Direct your supporters vote strategically to prevent 4 more years of disaster for US,The old cold war solder and Oil woman = 4 more of Bush-Cheney. Everybody who voted for you regrets the disastrous consequences!
