Can you design a smaller version made using a motorcycle?
Here's a thought relating to disaster rescue: Think rope ladder.
The structure itself isn't/shouldnt be strong enough to carry many on board, yet in a panic situation that is what people will do, clamber on! Having some three-or-four rung rope ladders on the back and sides would keep the weight off while saving the backseat for any injured/pregnant/old. I'd have a P.A. system or bullhorn too.
Actually... the idea is already there... it's just a matter of stretching the imagination further and let everyones mind become more innovative. This is whats lacking in the Philippines at the moment... based on what I observed. :-i
I have an idea for you to think about. Suppose the paddles is run by rollers, which the tires would rest on to. As the tires rolls so does the rollers, and of course, the paddles also. This way deployment into the floater and unto land is quick. A retracktable double ramp forward could be built, which could be deployed automatically upon hitting the shore, or by pushing it with the vehicle This could be a great solution for the military.
I suppose the exhaust system will make some steam when you enter the water! But it should cool after a while. Perhaps also an extra tube going upwards from the exhaust tail pipe?
How was that law again? If the car has a weight of 1400kg, you would need to have minimum 1400liters in the pontones? Perhaps the double to be sure? 4 plastic/metal barrels of 500 liters each? :-)
Lol... thats not a Hummer... it's a KEILA concept mini jeep. Equiped with a Hydrogen enhanced 800cc engine. with minimalistic body and platform design. It even has motorbike wheels on it.
Yes, we certainly do have floods in Texas! My father in law in Manila asked me once, "When is the rainy season in Texas?" My answer was "Any day without warning!" I once got trapped in Central Texas due to severe flooding of highways cut the entire state in half. No traffic could move until the water went down. This through the entire state which is bigger than most countries. I really could have used your vehicle conversion at that time.
Check out my old video.. I got some more concepts there - like the unsinkable boat and the cataclysmic proof house. Old concepts.... posted the video just last year. Some of my detractors even mocked me... As Gandhi said... At first - they laugh at you... the they fight you... then you win. :-) Thoughts to ponder.
Nice ehnrico! If this can be made cheap enough for the poor that always suffers in weather catastrofies, it could really be a life saver! Perhaps a model that can be bu thick rubber and be blown up in emergency: Mount the paddles on the car, fasten the rubber ring around the car, and put a hose to the exhausts, start the car andl fill the rubber. A back valve will keep the pressure, and then just drive to a safer environment through water/roads.
the wheel paddles are bolt on with the studs. they are also acting as the steering rudders. Pontoons are just frames that can be bolted to the chassis. Old truck interiors will be strapped under the frames (maybe about 2 pcs only, port and starboard).
Flooding in urban areas is directly affected by the buildings, bridges and pavement added. Really makes flooding worse than if no city was there. Why fight it? If flooding is inevitable, then have your vehicle retrofitted for deep water. Good job! We could use something like this here in Texas!
interesting...

RUle of thumb... make it always double. Thats why even in nature... the most balanced of all elements is composed of 2 H to 1 O. :-)

The options is as unlimited as the idea... and of course, it can be done cheaper! Much much cheaper than rubber boats.

necessity is the mother of invention, good job, you proved it. This could be a way to transport vehicles across waters.

Yes.. and Cheaper too!. They just need to wash it throughly afterwards to remove any salt water under.

another great idea-how quick do think you could fit paddles and pontoon?

You have flood in Texas?... it would be nice to have one though - in case Armagedon would come. But it can also be used for river crossing. :-)
