It is not my desire to stir a debate out of my comment but I need some clarity. Please help. Isn't Todd Bently still married to the girl he had an affair with? If yes, I dont understand why he is even ministering. This is a serious offense according to the word of God. (See 1 Cor. 6:9) And I'm saddened that this is happening under Rick Joyner's watch. Col 1:28 says Christ in us the Hope of Glory. Is Christ in us? If so We should do works and even greater than he did John 14:12. For those of us called to minister healing and such, it's so discouraging to see the teachers we respect working against us. It's very hard to get a healing ministry off the ground with the likes of Bentley and Hinn poisoning the waters, but when beloved brothers like yourself are against you, it's dispiriting. @ekiumy Miracles are a part of salvation. Jesus is God. If salvation connects you to God then miracles will happen in your life may be not always but time to time. By the way salvation is the 1st miracle. Some people are specially gifted by Jesus in the area of miracles to bless His church. Jesus said that those who will believe in Him shall do the works that he does and even greater works than what he did. Miracles are part of what jesus paid for on the cross. Heaven has come to earth.

The signs and wonders follow the preaching of the gospel; they don't preceed it. They are not pre-eminent over it. Christ died for the message, not the miracles. Preaching also includes lifestyle. We preach by our lifestyle just as much as by scripture. I see neither gospel preaching nor lifestyle changes as evidence that the signs and wonders in these services aught to be from God.
bzel333 you seem to believe that the gifts of the Holy Spirit have ceased and that God no longer performs miracles such as in 1 Cor. 12.
I am highly interested in this as I struggle greatly with whether or not to believe in present-day operation of those gifts. It is difficult to obtain unbiased teaching on this subject. Part of my struggle is that I have experienced "miracles," as have people I know and trust. Anything you'd like to say, in love, without judgement, would be appreciated.
@jesusisbetter I have never said that authentic miracles do not happen today. However I am convinced that as real miracles, they are very rare. God has spoken a final word in the person of his Son. God has given us his written word as a testimony of his salvation, grace and goodness towards us. This is all we need. False miracles as seen performed by the likes of Bentley only serve to distract form the true gospel of Jesus and the real work of the Spirit to convert sinners.
@bzel333 A good friend of mine had a migraine headache for 8 years and asked me to pray for her and the migraine left never to come back again. Another friend of mine has seriouus back paiin that he had to take powerful painkiillers for and I prayed for him and his pain left and has not been back for 5 years now. I have seen these two healings with my own eyes and my prayers. You cessastionlist view does not hold water

Kevin Prosch is a highly gifted artist, musician, worship leader who was involved in sin that resulted in his being removed from public ministry as well as the breakup of his marriage. He laid low for many years while he went through restoration. No public ministry. He even sent a long, detailed letter very bluntly explaining his sin, and his response, to the body of Christ. After many years, he slowly, gently came back to ministry. I see Prosch as a model of an appropriate response to a fall.
Those who think Bentley to be bewitched, into Kundalini spirits, or whatever, please ask a saved ex witch. They will simply laugh. So many ignorant churchians, scared of the supernatural, paranoid of anyone who sees into the spirit realm, and expecting "revival" in a predetermined box. All of this is fear driven. Half the Christian community rejoices in miracles while the other half cringe in fear and project impending doom, congratulating themselves for "discernment." Totally amazing.
God will continue to advance His kingdom regardless of Todd. This was never about Todd, and those who truly want to see Gods kingdom flourish know that. The doctrine "you have received it all when you first believed" can prevent the Holy Spirit giving us further revelation and us being sanctified. John 16:12 says "I have much more to tell you, but you cannot bear it now. ... the Holy Spirit ... will lead you into all truth and show you things to come." We do not receive all the gifts God has for us as "wet behind the ears" Christians. Christ is all we need. As we walk by faith, He opens up the scriptures to us and we receive new gifts.

Thanks so much for sharing this, I wondered what was happening with him. I stopped giving my money aimlessly. We began to minister to my parents and God has blest us so much for taking care of those "in our own household". We still give to ministry but prayerfully and carefully. We also give to brethren who are in need. God help us all to follow Jesus, the still small voice and not the dramatic witchcraft out there today!

Bzel333, overall good video, but I'm disappointed that you linked yourself concerning your need for cleansing as a believer with Todd who is not saved. He may name the name of Christ, but that is only to gain entrance in the church to make merchandise of them. By his fruit we can tell he is not a struggling believer as many of us are, but is a ravenous wolf in the fold. The man who called him out publicly proves that.

You shouldn't characterize yourself (and by extension, all believers) like that. You just proved you are not like TB. He is a sinner by category; you are righteous by category. Your faith in Jesus which led to your confession cleanses you from all unrighteousness. You therefore are a sheep in God's flock, while Todd is an unsaved wolf. Am I wrong?
@Jere616 This response is not to speak for bzel333. He is perfectly capable of providing his own response. Christians have the sin nature and do sin until, that is, we undergo the change (1 Corinthians 15). Until then, we are to confess our sins (1 John 1:5-10). Notice the word "we" in the passages. Once we undergo the change and enter heaven, there will be no more sin, pain, etc.
@jackbartolli51 I don't dispute that it is the "we" who are to confess if we sin. I know and acknowledged to bzel that Christians may indeed struggle. We will until perfection in the resurrection. As James says, in many ways we all offend. My only concern is putting a christian who sins who is shamed and confesses as sinners like a wolf like Bentley who shows he doesn't care about repentance over his public lies, heresies and adultery. @Jere616 By Todd Bentley's own admission (evidence of false teachings, etc.) and, most importantly, by the Biblical guidelines, Bentley wasn't a Christian in the first place.
@Jere616 I guess I would say that it is the work of the law of God that shows me my sin even as a Christian, and then drives me to confess my sin and flee to Christ who is true righteousness. And we know that he is faithful and just to forgive my sin and cleanse me from all unrighteousness. Let's keep in mind that Jesus, the Christ died for Christians too. I would further say that I am a "justified sinner" and therefore a beloved child of God by category. Does that help?

In a noun phrase, the noun is always the stronger term, and the modifier is always the weaker, which, in this case, is "justified." So, you're stressing sinner over justified. I don't see The bible emphasizing "sinner" over "justified" when referring to God's people. What do you say?

@bzel333 I would say he is no longer wicked after being justified, for Paul also says that we are new creatures created in righteousness and true holiness. It doesn't seem proper to continue to call someone a sinner with terms like that being applied to him after he is justified by God.
Calling a believer a sinner implies he has not repented, which if so, then it seems right to use that term about him such as Paul did about the man in 1 Cor. 5:13. There he referred to him as wicked.
We are declared righteous by grace alone through faith alone on account of Christ alone.
What this means is that I am not acceptable to God, on account of the worthiness of my faith; but because of the satisfaction, righteousness, and holiness of Christ.
He is my righteousness before God; and that I cannot receive and apply the same to myself any other way but through Christ.

@bzel333 I consider the term to refer to my former way of life before being born again. I also consider the term to refer to a way of life. However, Jesus gave me a new life in which to serve God. If you ask me if I have ever sinned as a believer, the answer is yes. But, I followed the word and confessed and I was cleansed of them. I don't live in those things like I did before I met the Lord.

It is not my desire to stir a debate out of my comment but I need some clarity. Please help. Isn't Todd Bently still married to the girl he had an affair with? If yes, I dont understand why he is even ministering. This is a serious offense according to the word of God. (See 1 Cor. 6:9) And I'm saddened that this is happening under Rick Joyner's watch. The signs and wonders follow the preaching of the gospel; they don't preceed it. They are not pre-eminent over it. Christ died for the message, not the miracles. Preaching also includes lifestyle. We preach by our lifestyle just as much as by scripture. I see neither gospel preaching nor lifestyle changes as evidence that the signs and wonders in these services aught to be from God.

I am highly interested in this as I struggle greatly with whether or not to believe in present-day operation of those gifts. It is difficult to obtain unbiased teaching on this subject. Part of my struggle is that I have experienced "miracles," as have people I know and trust. Anything you'd like to say, in love, without judgement, would be appreciated.

@jesusisbetter I have never said that authentic miracles do not happen today. However I am convinced that as real miracles, they are very rare. God has spoken a final word in the person of his Son. God has given us his written word as a testimony of his salvation, grace and goodness towards us. This is all we need. False miracles as seen performed by the likes of Bentley only serve to distract form the true gospel of Jesus and the real work of the Spirit to convert sinners.

Another friend of mine has seriouus back paiin that he had to take powerful painkiillers for and I prayed for him and his pain left and has not been back for 5 years now. Kevin Prosch is a highly gifted artist, musician, worship leader who was involved in sin that resulted in his being removed from public ministry as well as the breakup of his marriage. He laid low for many years while he went through restoration. No public ministry. He even sent a long, detailed letter very bluntly explaining his sin, and his response, to the body of Christ. God will continue to advance His kingdom regardless of Todd. This was never about Todd, and those who truly want to see Gods kingdom flourish know that. Todd was hated by so-called believers before he crashed and burned. He is hated now, and always will be by the same crowd. Todd can only deceive the hearts of the simple. Why would you want to sit under Todd, and listen to him talk about a life in Christ? Paul clearly says not to do it. The doctrine "you have received it all when you first believed" can prevent the Holy Spirit giving us further revelation and us being sanctified. John 16:12 says "I have much more to tell you, but you cannot bear it now. ... the Holy Spirit ... will lead you into all truth and show you things to come." We do not receive all the gifts God has for us as "wet behind the ears" Christians. Christ is all we need. As we walk by faith, He opens up the scriptures to us and we receive new gifts.

We began to minister to my parents and God has blest us so much for taking care of those "in our own household". We still give to ministry but prayerfully and carefully. When people preach about the Holy Spirit and the power of the Holy Spirit etc., one should always look for holiness, as He is the Holy Spirit, and the exaltation of Jesus.
We see little of this in the ministry of Todd Bentley.

Good video bzel! Interesting is how different groups with false teachings are coming together: the prosperitygospel joins in with the miracle/toronto/supernatural charismatic groups. We will see that all those groups (wolves) who seemed to have no connection, are going to connect these days and will bring the grand delusion to pull sheep away from the flock of our shepherd Jesus Christ.

Bzel333, overall good video, but I'm disappointed that you linked yourself concerning your need for cleansing as a believer with Todd who is not saved. He may name the name of Christ, but that is only to gain entrance in the church to make merchandise of them. By his fruit we can tell he is not a struggling believer as many of us are, but is a ravenous wolf in the fold. The man who called him out publicly proves that.

@Jere616 Point well taken. However, I am a sinner just like Todd and Todd is in need of the cleansing blood of Jesus to justify him just like me and you every other person out there, believer or not. My point was not to sound like I am sitting in judgment over him like I have it all together morally. Truth be told I committed adultery just yesterday...if only in my heart. But, I can call out false teaching which is clearly at odds with God's revealed word. Thanks for your thoughts.

@bzel333 @bzel333 Hi. First I am touched by your humble admission; but, the very fact you did that contradicts "you are a sinner just like Todd." You shouldn't characterize yourself (and by extension, all believers) like that. You just proved you are not like TB. He is a sinner by category; you are righteous by category. Your faith in Jesus which led to your confession cleanses you from all unrighteousness. You therefore are a sheep in God's flock, while Todd is an unsaved wolf. Am I wrong?

@Jere616 This response is not to speak for bzel333. He is perfectly capable of providing his own response. Christians have the sin nature and do sin until, that is, we undergo the change (1 Corinthians 15). Until then, we are to confess our sins (1 John 1:5-10). Notice the word "we" in the passages. Once we undergo the change and enter heaven, there will be no more sin, pain, etc.

@jackbartolli51 I don't dispute that it is the "we" who are to confess if we sin. I know and acknowledged to bzel that Christians may indeed struggle. We will until perfection in the resurrection. As James says, in many ways we all offend. My only concern is putting a christian who sins who is shamed and confesses as sinners like a wolf like Bentley who shows he doesn't care about repentance over his public lies, heresies and adultery. I hope this is clear. Is it?

@Jere616 By Todd Bentley's own admission (evidence of false teachings, etc.) and, most importantly, by the Biblical guidelines, Bentley wasn't a Christian in the first place.

@Jere616 I guess I would say that it is the work of the law of God that shows me my sin even as a Christian, and then drives me to confess my sin and flee to Christ who is true righteousness. And we know that he is faithful and just to forgive my sin and cleanse me from all unrighteousness. Let's keep in mind that Jesus, the Christ died for Christians too. I would further say that I am a "justified sinner" and therefore a beloved child of God by category. Does that help?

@bzel333 In your expression, "Justified sinner," "sinner" is the noun. In a noun phrase, the noun is always the stronger term, and the modifier is always the weaker, which, in this case, is "justified." So, you're stressing sinner over justified. I don't see The bible emphasizing "sinner" over "justified" when referring to God's people. What do you say?

@bzel333 I would say he is no longer wicked after being justified, for Paul also says that we are new creatures created in righteousness and true holiness. It doesn't seem proper to continue to call someone a sinner with terms like that being applied to him after he is justified by God.
Calling a believer a sinner implies he has not repented, which if so, then it seems right to use that term about him such as Paul did about the man in 1 Cor. 5:13. There he referred to him as wicked.

We are declared righteous by grace alone through faith alone on account of Christ alone.
What this means is that I am not acceptable to God, on account of the worthiness of my faith; but because of the satisfaction, righteousness, and holiness of Christ.
He is my righteousness before God; and that I cannot receive and apply the same to myself any other way but through Christ.

Answer: Because, the righteousness, which can be approved of before the tribunal of God, must be absolutely perfect, and in all respects conformable to the divine law; for even our best works in this life are all imperfect and defiled with sin.

@bzel333 I agree that it's Christ alone who causes us to be acceptable to God. My concern is that you insist on calling yourself a sinner like TB. I assume you're born again and have become a new creature in Christ. I just believe you're taking your view too far if you feel you have to put yourself in the same boat with the likes of a wolf like that. It makes me sad, that's all.

@bzel333 I consider the term to refer to my former way of life before being born again. I also consider the term to refer to a way of life. However, Jesus gave me a new life in which to serve God. If you ask me if I have ever sinned as a believer, the answer is yes. But, I followed the word and confessed and I was cleansed of them. I don't live in those things like I did before I met the Lord.

Todd Bentley is the fulfillment of prophecy when Jesus warned us of false prophets, yeah, good ole Todd is fulfilling that part of prophecy...It really is sad to see, and it breaks my heart to see so many that want this kind of spirituality...that too is a part of prophecy...itching ears for sure.
