  • I sometimes do have a sketch but sometimes I like to go off on a random way just to see how I would like it. Has worked out pretty well for me :)

  • how do you move the wall to make a door way?

  • how do you copy things like you in the 2D window?

  • well i don't have l4d but my brother does.so im building maps using his account, with his permission

  • My top left box is always in wireframe how do I change it to solid form

  • this is gona be epic coz i am buyin l4d tomorrow :D:D:D:D>:D

  • What is the shortcut for jumping between views?

also you probably know this, but when you're replacing all the textures you can just use the Replace function browser rather than flying through the map and selecting each individual thing

  • i would've put a wall between the cafeteria and the kitchen...

  • you're maps are awsome!

you should make a level about hotel swissand this one is the last level.

  • Isn't this Hotel Swiss?

  • @BallsInYourJawsBitch Yes. Good eye.

  • cool ap keep up the good work

  • @flipskater1129 Thanks man. Will do.

  • what means that francis model ?:/

  • One thing i saw...

As you use developer texture you filter "dev"

you'll find the textures easier if you filter "measure"

  • Anything that makes my workflow faster. :)

    Thanks for the tip Kapstok.

  • thanks a lot for all of these man. great vids. im going through them as I wait for L4D to redownload on this SHITTY internet :(

  • Me too. These are brilliant tutorials and now it makes me want to be a mapper/3d artist!

  • thx for tutorial u have inspired me and boosted my confidence thx for yppur great website and sharing your skills with the community XD

  • Thanks Mzoee, I appreciate it.

  • very good video do you have any maps that we can play?

  • how can you open the "prop menu"?

  • It is an entity tool and entity is called prop_static.

I have a video called Adding Props. It will explain everything.

  • is it as difficult as it looks like or is it easy to learn??? i have no experience in level designing but i am interested in it.

  • Its easy to learn but difficult to master. Plus you can find a lot of support if you get stuck. Its definetly no better time to start then today.

Visit my site Raven to get started.

  • thanks for your fast reply!!! i think you and your amazing website are very helpful to get started and to learn the basics first. i already downloaded the "How-to-Create-a-Map-in-11-Days-by-Alex-Galuzin-Book" =) and i have to say it is easy to understand (even for a german teenager like me)! xDxDxD it´s just awesome that you share your skills with the community!

RESPECT, greetz and keep it up!!!

  • Mapping is more a long process then it is a hard one.

  • What was that texture that you used on the walls?

  • the developer texture? or the real wall texture.

for dev: in face edit sheet under filter type in 'dev'

for the reg wall, in filter type in wall. I don't exactly remember the name, but filtering would be easier to find

  • I think the texture you used is the developer one.

    I'll try. Thanks in advance

  • developer is orange
