thats a good idea, but wouldn't it be better to make to adjusment curves, one lighter and one darker, then create a layer mask on both and paint on the spots you want highlighted (on the bright curve) and the ones you want shadowed or contoured (on the dark curve)
"Better" is sooo subjective! :) As I said in the tut, this is one way, the curves method is great too. But, give this a whirl and play around with it. There are a lot of extra possiblities offered, wet look reflections, Amy Dresser style portraits and you avoid any problems with unwanted highlight blowouts.
Love your tutorials but is it possible to make them in high quality videos? That way we could see the quality of the pictures you use and the effects you create would be so much clearer.
Just a suggestion... Anyway...keep making more vids, love them!
