also 10 vol = no lift  20 vol = 1 level of lift 30 vol = 2 levels of lift 40 vol = 3 levels of lift

this only applys to color not bleach 10 vol and bleach can give you 4 levels of lift it just works slower and any stylist whi uses 40 and bleach is an idiot ...thats how you frap hair kids

i got the faux halk and i love it and i use loreal studio gel and it holds it good and so hard but it looks so gelled.

is there a gel or wax or something to still hold it but make it look natural so looks like i dont have gel in it?

try gelling it then get your comb and comb it so it will still stand but look natural.

I think you're confusing bleach with colour. The volume of peroxide has little to no bearing on the lift when mixed with bleach powder, just how long it takes.

When mixed with COLOUR, yes, the volume of peroxide does determine, to some extent, the level of lift that can be achieved.
