I totally sympathized with Lucas and Claus since my mom died three years ago (the day before my birthday, no less) in kinda sorta the same way. Hinawa protected her kids from the Drago, and my mom had done her best to protect my two brothers (another parallel) from our abusive step-dad, but in the end she got killed. So the line "Come to your mother... You must be so exhausted." hit me on such a personal level. I automatically associated it with my mom... I cried like a baby.

While it's unlikely for a little kid to survive falling off of a cliff, by the time you see him again, he is at Lucas's height rather than the height he was when fell, which indicates that he grew. Growth is a sign of life, so I don't think he was completely dead, maybe just revived/had necessary organs implanted. You could argue that they added height, but it doesn't make sense that he'd make him at a 12 yr old's height. Well now we're just over thinking :P I just thought that was interesting.
I always wondered, what if, in Chapter 1, you could tel Claus after he handed you that apple with the file in it, not to try and fight the Drago? If Flint could be convincing enough, Claus never would have become the Masked Man (sorry for a spoiler). Of course you were playing as Flint at the time, so you couldn't say anything.
Sorry to burst your bubble, but Claus was dead before the battle. His corpse was found and made into a robot. :P I think the electricity short circuited himself, and that's how he 'died' again.
Listen how in the beginning, it sounds mechanical? Sad? Almost like a heartless robot? That describes Claus in the battle. It goes from Robotic, Sad, heartless, into a living, loving song, of life? Claus was brought back by Porky as a robot, and during the battle, Claus began to feel emotion again, and the music picked up into the living, loving song.
Also, the logo is made of wood and metal? Human Technology destroyed nature, and as the song picks up, the metal gives away to nature. Mother4lyf

Mother shows that all people should just be loved, no matter what pain they caused you. It's hard finding love in the world and people just seem to distort it's meaning as time goes by. No one will ever know the meaning after years to come. ;( The world is dying and well, we need to love it again.
Maria scattered the song of love(8 Melodies), Earth itself scattered the song of friendship(Smiles & Tears), and the Love Theme...was a whole song all along, you didn't even have to find it. It was always there, hidden away in the songs that invoke sadness, but outright in the happy songs. You have to find love and friendship, but not happiness. It's there, you just need to find it through sadness. Am I the only one who sees it this way?

While I do admire FPS games alot, they pale in comparison to the Mother series. I recently finished Mother 3 and boy, is it one of the most amazing games I've ever had the pleasure to play. I thank Itoi for making such a strange, funny, and heartrending series!

@dimentiorules Even if it /is/ fiction, it's human nature to feel sympathetic, or cry for someone else.
If you allow yourself to become immersed in the story, it's very easy for you to become attached to a character, and therefore feel sorry for them.
I'm sure at some point, even as a child, we've all cried at a movie, and that seems to be acceptable. Why not for video games?

@yugimew It is. I have the same problem. No form of entertainment has ever emotionally affected me. Hell, not much HAS emotionally affected me. Plenty of stuff has pissed me off, sure, but not much has done anything else.

Mother shows that all people should just be loved, no matter what pain they caused you. It's hard finding love in the world and people just seem to distort it's meaning as time goes by. No one will ever know the meaning after years to come. ;( The world is dying and well, we need to love it again.

Maria scattered the song of love(8 Melodies), Earth itself scattered the song of friendship(Smiles & Tears), and the Love Theme...was a whole song all along, you didn't even have to find it. It was always there, hidden away in the songs that invoke sadness, but outright in the happy songs. You have to find love and friendship, but not happiness. It's there, you just need to find it through sadness. Am I the only one who sees it this way?

Jack Thompson says video games are bad. He says they're the cause of violence. He's full of shit and this game proves it. Mother 3 made me want to help people. Mother 3 made me relise how corrupt we are. Mother 3 made cry. It made me relise how important family is, and it still held a great sense of humour. While I do admire FPS games alot, they pale in comparison to the Mother series. I recently finished Mother 3 and boy, is it one of the most amazing games I've ever had the pleasure to play. I thank Itoi for making such a strange, funny, and heartrending series!
