Perhaps if this video showed some portrayal of the accent that represents an everyday conversation, or non-pop culture based speech, you go could more efficaciously prove your argument.

Please don't try to sound like an American! So many of us are dumb and illiterate! It's sad, really. I know sounding educated (accent) does not really mean you really are, so if you are educated the best thing to do is just show it by being sensitive to those around you.

American teenage girls aren't that much of airheads and we don't wine about the simplest things. Also, even though the stereotype is well known, we don't use like after every word. We use it as space fillers once in a while when we are having difficulty finding words to express how we feel.

I myself try and use my imagination to fuel a creative vocabulary that doesn't use the words that inflame negative reaction. I also recognize in the art of language, there are instances when only a "cuss" word can drive the point home. My teachers from Kindergarten to University spoke great English and expected the same from us.

umm, i feel kind of insulted. i'm an american, a teenager, and i'm blonde. but i don't speak ANYTHING like that; very few people do. as other people say, you watch too many movies. but then again, a lot of american's think people with british accents are all prim and proper and have tea parties all the time.. which i know isn't true (in most cases..?). stereotypes are ruining what we think of each other.. oh well. not much we can realy do about it?

I myself try and use my imagination to fuel a creative vocabulary that doesn't use the words that inflame negative reaction. I also recognize in the art of language, there are instances when only a "cuss" word can drive the point home. My teachers from Kindergarten to University spoke great English and expected the same from us.

ahahahahahha......everytime a british girl does an american accent they immediately go to the 'valley-girl' routine. that was in the 1980's. i think one unique thing about the american accent is that our dialect evolves over time. we don't speak ANYTHING like we did 30 years ago. and the farther you go back the more pronounced that fact is. the more videos i see on here just reinforce that i can tell its not legit because its out-dated.

I think your accent is actually quite good. Being a 15 year old American with quite a big vocabulary myself I don't see how that could give you away in the slightest. I think your portrayal of the average American girl isn't too far off the mark, actually. I really enjoyed watching this!
