  • is it me, or the mottlling in warime FW´s was much more intricate and random? is this how a wartime bird looked like?

  • @wirikuta14 My understanding is the mottling was not done with airguns/airbrushes but with rags flung against the fuselage...using differing amounts of saturation of paint at different passes over the fuselage.

  • @FORMETOKNOWONLY hey man thanks! I am a fan of german WII camo, and I have never seen that kind of (should I say misterious) mottling in preserved birds, the mottling just doesn´t look right, so you make a lot of sense, I will look into it. HORRIDO!!!!

  • @wirikuta14 Well, of course you can't use rags on a model plane. lol...with enough practice with an airbrush you should be able to simulate it on models. You are more than welcome btw. I am an artist and had a crazy idea of doing some aviation paintings. Since I was a kid I was always fascinated by the camo painting schemes the Luftwaffe created. Problem with doing this kind of art is the endless hours of research and I am not so sure I want to open that can of worms.

  • c nul

  • Nice job, its nice to see historic pieces restored. Well done!

  • I think this is the best way to do this. Theese machines were painted the same way in wartime. Its not the spit & shine that matters

  • is it just me or were the camo grey patches sprayed on extremely rough....the rest looked good....

  • is the first coat of paint grey or is it blue cause it should be a really light blue

  • @biggzyboys Hellblau (light blue).

  • WOW!

    that`s great!

  • many thanks for the video!!....but an question

in the world now there are only few of Foker-190 wolf as you are able to have this .... it would be interesting to know its history ...

  • I believe this one was built by the Flugwerke company. They were to make 12 of them originally but the overwhelming orders for them enticed them to build more(not sure how many). They are exact replicas built to original specs as in the 40's but powered by different engines.I wish VW would remake the classic Beetle as they were in the 60's,but thats another story.Gotta love the FW190!

  • All you can always do !!!... nothing is impossible!.

  • Bravo! Thank you for the restoration team.

  • What's the song at 1:18? I've heard it before and it's driving me crazy not being able to remember what it was.

  • sorry....?...!

  • Steve Miller Band, Abracadabra

  • @GGigabiteM Abracadabra.. by Steve Miller. Crazy Video he made.

  • @GGigabiteM abacadabra

  • @GGigabiteM Abracadabra- Steve Miller Band

  • hey, where can i found that Horst Hannings logo,i would like to use it as backround image...

    can't wait until May!!;)

    nice work!

  • Eric, you don't know how many memories this video brought to me!!! I couldn't afford the Flug Werks plane so I went a little smaller. Check out my 3 videos of my Vans Luftwaffe RV-8! I did the paint myself . I hope to see yours in person oneday!

  • That's yours? I like it.. I was wondering if it would be feasible to use the RV8 and do some reskin from canopy back to make it more like a FW..... Thinking of using F-1 Rocket since is closer...

  • Does anyone know what the music is between about 2:33 and 2:44 by any chance?

  • what's the name of this song?

  • shes a beauty!!!

I hope we see her at the Flying Legends Airshow one day :)

  • oh boy, this is so nice

    one of my favorite planes

i'll be building one after i finish my aerospace engineering degree

  • is this the duxford FW-190?

  • Excellent work! the ¨Butcher Bird¨ lives again!

  • Hi Eric! Is this one of the Flugwerk birds? If so, you made a suggestion that it would fly somewhere 2009 but I had a chat with one of the stafmembers of Duxford where the FW190A8/N should be on static but it wasn't. When I asked this man when the Flugwerk FW190A finally received it's permission to fly he told me that it could take quite some time due to the only fact that it is a full replica?

Nevertheless.... Get this bird into the air where it belongs even though it's a "fake" ;-)

  • it's not a fake.... we do will do so.....!

  • Hi Eric! My sincere apologies for calling it a fake, obviously it's not! But what I wondered was if it is a genuine FW190A or a replica. The skies over Europe defenitely need an addition of a FW190A to make the warbirdscene in Europe complete! I would like to take this oppertunity to wish you all good luck because you are doing an excellent job!!!

  • engine run up check in dec/jan...... first fly in April/May...... cross the fingers....§

  • Dude, you live my dream :-D!! I and many others are waiting for years to see an airframe like this completed and airworthy! If I have to... I'll visit France in order to see this magnificent plane fly! Thanks for uploading the progress!

  • I do the same think only it is in 1/72 LOL !!!

    Nice work ....

  • Great job!

Can't wait to see it fly!!

  • Expected in MAY 2009...

  • After all the models I painted when I was a kid, this could be the dream of my life...and a flight ;).

The spit has a nicely polished finish, how about the FW? does it get a matt clear coat at the end?

  • It will be matt at the end.... as the original.... engine test run in end DEC08 if planning is ok....

  • Damn that looks awesome!

  • Yes...! it's a top project...! next is comming soon....

  • shouldnt the spraying be done in a clean room??

  • No... it's ok...the result is thumb up....

  • i wonder about the power output and weight compared to a stock wartime fw190

  • The Fw-190 of Horst Hanning was a A-4 !

  • do you have a A4 for us....!

  • Spectacular! Well done...

  • It's coming along great. I hope it flys soon. The paint looks fantastic!

  • magnifique !!! félicitations a toute l'équipe bravo
