So why was the Ood species accelerating so quickly? I forget. I love the Ood and the depth of their development throughout the series, I hope they're used in the 11th-era stories as well. They're really interesting! And I feel like we've lost some of that mysticism since Moffat took over. Times like when this telepathic race calling back through the centuries, or when the Doctor leans out of the tardis, hand outstretched and says "Come with me".

i'm really hoping that even though time is saved from the time lords, the ood stay advanced and become a new better time lordish race, also this would explain why they are only time LORDS and not time kings, they already knew about the ood and realized they would be better

@arelimoon29 I read some where that the first doctor was the original. Making the second doctor the first of 13 changes he can make. They'll prolly find a way around it. Like after 13 changes something happens differently when he changes or something like that. We'll just have to wait until then.

@PretenderKitty32 It's possible that the 13 regenerations was a law of Gallifrey, to prevent them living forever and gaing too much power in the process, so perhaps now that Gallifrey is gone, that law no longer applies to the Doctor?

No it's part of their biology but there are ways to get around it which is what happened to The Master. You could even steal regenerations from other time lords.

@toomanyaccounts in one of the new episodes of the sarah jane adventures (a spin-off of doctor who) the doctor was there and when one of them asked him how many times he could regenerate he said 507 so it could only be a law, but we'll have to wait and see.

Actually the Doctor believes he's going to die not just regenerate because the Ood told him his 'song was ending'. Hence all the supposed running around having some last minute adventures.

That said this little hint into the finale wasn't too bad. The reference to Queen Elizabeth was just too funny.
