How was smackdown not the number one show back then, they had a better and deeper roster than raw as well as better wrestling matches. I know that RAW had the better stroylines and has been on longer than smackdown but damn SD was just stacked back then.

He got released at about that time. His last PPV match, and storyline was against Matt Hardy at No Mercy later that year in 2003. There were rumors going around saying that Zach had a bad attitude backstage. Plus, Vince McMahon most likely only hired him for Public Relations purposes anyway,

@TheContradictator : This is something WWE did from 2003 to 2004. They always had an advertisement for the WrestleMania PPV at the top of each PPV. Backlash 2003 was the official start on the road to WrestleMania XX. I think this happened for WM 21 too. I'm not really sure. It's been a long time.

Definately an above average show and far better than Raw's first single brand PPV. Eddie/Benoit was brilliant, Noble/Gunn was clearly just a filler, The Bar Brawl was fun, The WGTT vs. Rey/Kidman was great and something different than the WWE norm, Steph/Sable was pointless crap, Taker/Cena was Taker at his 2003 best (which doesn't say too much), Vince/Gowen was pretty bad but the build up was great and the Triple Threat main event was good but Big Show's involvement hurt the match if anything.
