  • absolutely kick-ass tutorial. thanks a bunch, been wonderin about that for a while.

  • How did you get that fat hit at 0:49?

  • Thank you. I found this very helpful. I've searched for this function for quite some time but I would never figured it out by my self.

It's so darn simple when you know it... makes me feel a little bit retarded actually.

  • Thanks so much this was really helpful, keep it coming

  • I'm just learning Logic and this kind of stuff is really helpful. The music isn't too bad either! lol

  • @Soundslogical Hey Boss, it was a great tutorial, except..well when you were talking about the "Build up" ES2, ya didn't explain how ya made those parameters first. Like what synth preset did you start with, then what'd ya do to make that seperate(But still connected to the build up ES2) channel for the delay/AUPitch?

  • This is the BEST TUTORIAL on dubstep...Succint. Immediately to the point. Close up shots- illustrating key points. No superfluous intro bullshit- THIS IS THE BEST- thanks bro nuff respect always..Rock On!!!!

  • The drum loop from 0:21, wasn't that the drum loop you were showing us how to make in ultrabeat in the other tutorial? :)

  • was alot of help. safe!

  • was alot of help. safe!

  • YOUR TUTORIALS ARE EXCELLENT!! THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!

  • very nice tutorial mannn !!

  • Hey man, Just wanted to say this has brought me from knowing ABSOLUTELY NOTHING about Dub to making my own.

This video has been invaluable to me, I've been trying to do this EXACT stuff since I started. Thank you, you're a fucking champ!

ALSO you mentioned you may go into more detail as to how one may produce Dub speed changes in another video if there were enough demand... well I hope you do/have because this is amazing and I want to learn as much as possible on this subject. Thanks again mate!

  • good tutorial -

    ((classiccape - classia))

  • 3:50 how did you do that?

  • hey what do the gray covers do on the channel strips an how do you get them?

  • nice!

  • Is it possible to assign the LFO rate to the mod wheel?

  • damn that is cool! thanks for the delay + pitch advice!!

  • OMG thank you sooo much for this video mate =D

  • Thank you so much for your videos! I was really wondering how to get the dubstep sound cuz ive recently become addicted to it. Keep it up!

  • the quality and clarity of your tutorials are great, many thanks!

  • @soundsLogical hey i liked your wobble bass tutorial i personally make hip hop beats but i like learning new ways to screw around with sounds anyways i know you know how to get that sweeping pitch bend sound in alot of hip hop beats, like in this tutorial the bottom track, can you do a tutorial over making those kinds of sounds

  • How do you get the pitch bend thing, like where the bassline moves up in pitch a bunch? In the pitchbend parameter in the piano roll it only goes up or down a tiny bit.

  • @liquidgordon You can either automate the oscillators' pitch, or alternatively you can increase the amount the pitchbend parameter in the piano roll affects the pitch by changing the "bend range" parameter on the ES2, right under the glide knob.

  • hey noob here, how the hell do i even get ES2? i cant find it on my logic 8 program? do i have to buy it or download it or something

  • this is such a big help. i've been trying to figure this out for a while now but no such luck and this vid made it as simple as can be! cheers :)

  • when u recorded the "wobble" chords, what speed did u record them at? before u drew it in by hand

  • I have mixed feelings about people teaching the 'wobble' bassline on youtube. Part of me is impressed and interested to learn more about automation (I love all your videos and would be lost without other such tutorials). The other part resents anyone helping to spread this awful genre of music! Some dubstep is great but not this whom whom whom whom bollocks!

  • that was fuckin sick

  • I was wondering if there is a way for logic to tell u the value of the automation DISPLAYED by the synth, instead of the ''midi value'' associated with it... simply because i use massive and i automate the denominator number to vary the wobble speed... but logic only gives me odd numbers that kinda end up reflecting the actual den. value after passed a certain value

Also, and most important way.. I wish i could find a way to snap the automation to some grid to make it precise... is there a way?

  • You are my favorite tutorialist. You are well educated and explain things very comprehensively. Please continue. I'm your new padawan! lol Anything on drum bus compression and or drum mixing techniques that is advance. I'm hungry brother! Thnx!!!

  • how did u get this wobble sound? im having a merry old time trying to get it and i cant :@

  • really helpful! Keep it up man!

  • Yeah, cool use of automation to add character and richness to your transitions, especially.

  • That beat is sick, I like the clap, works well together

  • Good video very usefull tips!

  • Right on bro. You just answered so many of my questions. Great vids!

  • nice video. thanks for uploading. wondering what plugs you're using and if u needed anymore. hit me up direct. 1TymeJones at GMAIL. subject: Plugz. PEACE.

  • I AM UNSTOPPABLE NOW thank you so much

  • Awesome tutorial, Im trying to produce on logic from scratch, no help what so ever this is the first tutorial I've watched, but im going to watch of of soundslogial now.

    Brilliant.

  • excellent tutorial- keep them coming!

  • Just got Logic, and basically said, screw the manual, these videos kick ass!

    Keep it up please :)

  • you are by far the best tutorial maker for logic I have come across!!

  • Fanks bro that was really helpful!!

  • soundin sick, m8. where can the final product be heard?

  • There isn't really a finished product, I was just messing around really. I make unfinished loops and track sections all the time.

  • @soundsLogical mee too... thats thing i hate most about myself, that i start making too many unfinished projects... great tutorial by the way ive been lookin for this one for a while... just recently thought of looking up eq automation and this came up and it was perfect.... thanks!

  • tight, is there anywhere to hear your full tunes? :)

  • ur a star!

  • sick guy keep the videos coming boss cheers

  • video on workflow would be helpful mate. Thanks for all of them so far.

  • howd ya make that nintendo synth? i

  • just made it in the ES2. nothing fancy!

  • @soundsLogical the nintendo synth sounds really good mate. can you teach us how you made it? Especially the tones that slide up and down... got a really jazzy feel to it i think.. could you teach us how to do that, please? You're a great teacher!!

  • @soundsLogical Also, if you have the time, please teach us how you wrote the Ultrabeat drum sequence on this dubstep song, any tips & tricks to speed up beat sequencing on Ultrabeat would be much appreciated too! I am using Ultrabeat myself for sequencing but its mostly fiddling around and trial and error.. A proper lesson would be very useful indeed! Thank you again for taking the time to make these videos!

  • @soundsLogical

Dude, I cant seem to get the wobble to go in time, please help! Whenever I put in some LFO automation it comes in about a quarter bar earlier than i set it... D:

  • Hmm, I really don't know what would cause that. Have you chosen the right wave setting for LFO2? A triangle wave (top option) works best.

  • @soundsLogical

Yeah, I've done that man. I dunno, Ill keep trying. Thanks for your help anyway dude, keep up the awesome tutorials!!!

  • Verzeda;

I had the same problem with some pre-set logic effects coming to early/too late. It was because project is not in time with the bars, i.e. my midi did not start on 1,8,16, etc. My midi might started on say 5 or 7? I'm not sure if it's the same applies to the ES2? soundsLogical, correct me if I'm wrong! Thanks for the great vids, great them coming!!

  • @verzeda

Hey, check this setting: Preferences>Audio>General Tab>Sample Accurate Automation. This setting should be set to "Volume, Pan, Sends, Plug-in Parameters". This will eat more CPU but ensures your automation tracks are rendered accurately in realtime. Try increasing the sample buffer in the Devices tab to ease the CPU load. Happy wobbling!

  • Many Thanks wobbleman :)

  • @verzeda I have the same exact problem- any idea on how to fix this?

  • @bigfatchronic

Sorry mate, no idea. But to be honest I actually find it a lot easier to create about 30 bass tracks all with different progamming and just switch between them using glide and automation, it makes the track a lot more solid.

  • @verzeda yeah, I'm thinking thats what its gonna come down to. I hate f*ucking around with all the automation points anyways.

  • awesome vid!! didn't even know about that aupitch. i've been using pitch shifter which doesn't give great results. dope!

  • So VERY helpful!

Love your editing and simplicity as well.

    Thank you very much!

    please keep em coming!

  • Great video, i've been using the LFO automation as you did it for a while now. Would be interesting to see the other ways of doing it

  • oh and keep them coming!

  • great vids mate, better than logic ninja cause you are making the music i love!

  • You're a genius.

Please keep making these, and if you have AIM or something let me know.

  • You can also automate the LFO 2(Wobble) Rate and anything else with the song by linking the LFO2 rate to the side chain(which is bus 1 containing the kick and snare output) in my instance and setting it via Maximum.
