BEWARE - YOU CAN'T HIKE TO POINT CONCEPTION via JALAMA
Unlike the video portrays, Point Conception and the light house can NOT be reached from Jalama Beach. If you ask the rangers, they will explicitly tell you to stay on the beach as the light house trail is Private Property. The entire surrounding area is private and the mean high-tide rule applies - there are several areas of beach that can not be traversed due to cliffs and tide wash outs on the way south to Point Conception
I have been going here since I was a kid, my parents went here when they were kids, and my grandparents went here. We arent locals but it is our family spot. My dad goes every year for a month usually in october or november and this year I am bringing myself, my fiance, and my dog for the first time. It is a one in a million spot but if you dont know how to camp at jalama then you are sol because it requires finnese that some campers dont have. Happy Camping!!

this is the most amazing beach in California to camp at in my opinion. I hope we keep it quiet.

Jalama sucks its always windy the waves never hit jalama never hits the locals keep it local

Oh give me a break area805chris! Take your backward views back into your house and close the doors. Parks are open to everyone to enjoy.
