Extraordinary, howevver,I would like to hear the same sonata but without the effect, but with the crude sound of the fretless bass, this effect does not appreciate the under in its true cadence
Eric, did you use a tutorial on how to rip out the frets? Or a book or anything?? I have an old SR506 I am DYING to make fretless but I need to know how to do it before I even consider attempting! Please write me back! Great stuff by the way!
I love this!! The best playing i've heard in quite a long time. Do you play with any groups or anything? You need to be more well known. THis is incredible
i know a guy that play's fretless....and iv'e come to hate it. This is awsome but for someone that doesn't practice...ever...it gets very annoying being sharp or flat on every note. The guy i'm speaking of has been playing for years but thinks no one cares if he's playing off tune. drives me nuts! haha
Dude did you seriously rip the frets out yourself? Because this whole thing flows so smooth and it even looks and sounds like a legit fretless! Would you mind sending me a message or even an email on how to do that because I'd seriously like to try that out on one of my old basses and see how it turns out. Please get back to me and make even more incredible music as soon as possible!
Wow you are a wonderful musician. IMO the greatest bassists can take a piece of crap bass and make it sound beautiful. You sir are one of those bassists. :)
Really nice man, excellent intonation. Among other basses I have an older Ibanez BTB 6 that i customized and defretted also. BTB s have become my preferred bass, cheap and sound GREAT.
How are one of these basses played? It seems that it would be incredibly hard to hit the same note if you cant tell exactly where you have your fingers rested.
@rafnaj1 You would just fret the note over the fret line instead of between them. You'll be surprised how quickly you get used to it (20 min.) Playing fretless improves your touch and phrasing and makes you listen and play differently. Go for it brother!
What i've also wanted to try is to try and record with audacity and set it to a video of me playing, but id ont' know how to do that with WMM and audacity...
I know nothing about WMM, as I'm a Mac user. But I would certainly think a pro like Mr. Czar is using something a little more serious than audacity and windows movie maker for these recordings.
I've been playing this on my iPhone at least a doven times a day for a week and thus have never had a chance to leave a comment (cause keyboard is easier!)...
Dude...thats the THE most beautiful piece of music I've heard in a long time! I REALLY love the vibrato u pull off on it...Very human like if u get my meaning...Love the octave slide @ 0:35.
I've seen all ur vids and see like u said that price isnt an issue in buying basses...well said! My favs are cheaper than my others haha!
Just done it myself [well my father done it to be correct!] on my old peavey grind six string. I should have a video up in the next week or 2 if you are interested in seeing the results of such a project!
Beautiful song, well played. A nice surprise - usually, all I find on YouTube are a bunch of demos of technique, without any actual musical communication. A wonderful piece of music. Thanks!
Wow! That's straight up stunning and sounds beautiful! I'm a rock bass player (influenced by Cliff Burton, Geezer, and JPJ), but I have to say, that is quite inspirational and just amazing. Great stuff. Extremely talented!
This was quite a wonderful tune, i actually have a Ibanez 406 model that i considered de fretting myself but then i just went and bought a Brice fret less 6 string that im still waiting on.
You pull them out. They make a tool for it. They're kind of like pliers. I've done it to a couple basses. You need to fill in the gaps where the frets used to be. Most people use epoxy.
I really love your work and I've watched your videos several times. I would be fun if you did a video witch several "windows" so you could see all of the tracks you play simultaniously! And if you don't, well, I'd still be watching! =D
