I didn't say that because it was a shooter that i thought it was bad. I do enjoy shooters, I just don't get as hyped for them as I do other games. I am planning on buying it when it comes out.
Oh yes, its good. Even today you can have much fun with it. From the previews I've read its very much like the original, and all the hands on have been positive.

Take one of the newer gameplay videos, and do the Tv sim. I would like to see how that looks.

heck yea! don't knock it just because it's a shooter. there were some puzzle elements added to this game as well, so it's not just mindless shooting.

i never played the original punch out, but i heard it was good. it's "sequal" is bound to be better. i'll wait for reviews on that one though.
