Why in the hell would you want to make a several hundred pound lion perform in a small pen. I learned my lesson with my 7 lbs house cat. The other day my cat was sleeping on the my chair where I wanted to sit down. I pet my small cat, and attempted to gently pick him up and move him to the couch. Within seconds my 7 lbs cat went ape shit, attached to my arm, and starting kicking crap out of forearm. Moments later, he was purring and attempting to curl up next to me. Cats are crazy!

The guy leaning on the wall was talking to the other guy and looking the lion in the eye. The eye contact and facial expressions triggered the lion to knock him down to size as a dominance. Notice he only went after that individual and it was for that reason. I have seen severa times where trainers are trained to train but don't truly understand the animals they are working with.

You're right Dave, animals don't like people tapping on the glass. In fact, when my family went to the casino where they featured Siegfried & Roy's animals (the lions and tigers), they had ropes or posters displayed with the message "Visitors may not tap the glass". They even had a employees watching the area to inform everyone to stop. But, that was several years ago.

I think Zoo's are horrible ESPECIALLY the captivity of Lions, Tigers etc, those animals are not meant for captivity and looking into the eyes of a Lion who has been in a zoo for years, you can see the life has left him. Its so said but before they get to that stage, this aggression occurs.
