this song has become part of my own personal Christmas rituals over the years. i grew up watching the show from the beginning, and loved Lorne Green. his fatherly ways, his gentlemanly ways of treating others and passing it along to his sons. i dont know why people diss this show/album...to me, its a recording of a 'family', and no one would not expect everyone to be the Trapp Family Singers! ^_^

Of course, so was Michael Landon (ne Eugene Orowitz).

@Juliaflo actually, Michael was raised in a split religious home. While I admit I can't remember which parent was which, one was Catholic and one was Jewish. Not sure if he ever claimed or the other.

@Songbirds1985 I know, but Mr. Landon's gravesite is inscribed in something Hebrew. The significance of this, I do not know.
