  • bravo giograno,

    Merci

  • @Guitarine DEAR GUITARINE THANKS FOR YOUR WISE COMMENT :: UNFORTUNATELY THE WORLD OF THE GUITAR IS FULL OF MEDIOCRE AND IGNORANT PEOPLE ... THAT?S MAKE THE DIFFERENCE ABOUT A EXCELLENT MUSICIAN AS YOU ARE AND SOME FARM-LABOURERS ADAPTED TO THE SIX STRINGS !!!!! GIOVANNI : - ))

  • @SotterrateviTutti : - )) !!!

  • I also think the opening is a little fast. Andante signifies a leisurely walking pace. Andantino, a little quicker. This opening is played at a sprint, although it does moderate a little once you are into your stride.

But this is meant to be a Nocturne ie. a graceful serenade, fitting for the evening. Almost a lullaby.

It is exceptionally well played, all the same.

  • @Gangly1 Thanks for your compliment " exceptionally well played....... all the same ".... : - )))) but .I confirm what I wrote down to your previous comment !! Andantino is andantino and all the treatises at Mertz's time put it between allegro and moderato...( see below... about Lichtenthal etc,, )..this is so called speed in music..... the character of the composition is another cuttle of fish... and is dterminated by sucg adjectives like sostenuto, cantabile, spiritoso etc......

  • @Gangly1 concerning the nocturne the concept of this music form has changed a lot during 50 or more years ... In Mozart times it was a "serenate" ( like the eine kleine nachtmusik! and in german nachtmusik is the translation of "nocturne" ) but later just means inspired by night whose carachter is intime and melodic .........

  • @Gangly1 If you play the Mertz's nocturne op.4 n*2 too slow the risk is to be boring, like the 90 per cent of the perfomances I already listened too on youtube !!! And the second part ( all° con brio ) is also faster than the first one (andantino ) and

it belongs to the nocturne ... all the same !!! By the way.. why don't you performe the whole nocturne but only the first part ??????!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @Gangly1 Besides.. last but not least ... lullaby has a different character more close to a pastorale or siciliana or berceuse, wiegenlied, and is not at all a serenade ...and has a different destination . In short the character is not the music speed and don't be misleaded by the rythm 6/8 that is common to all theese composition, but pay attention to the wills of the composer........and andantino is andantino , sure graceful and smoth but not too slow !!! Kind regards !!

  • why so fast? T_T

  • ...........because ithe first part is "andantino" ( and andantino is not at all slow ..... it lies between maestoso and allegro following Legnani's indications !!! ).....and the second section is " allegro con brio"...and usually I respect the composer's purposes ......!!!!! hope you understand theese musical agogics.....

  • @SotterrateviTutti .......take a look on the original score published by "Chanterelle ed.".!!

By the way if you understand Italian look what say about andantino L. Legnani( Method ), P. Lichtenthal's, and B. Asioli 's tratises
