  • love this.. nice deep resonate voice perfect harmony with the sisters.

  • Don't get me wrong

  • Compare this rather cornball version to Chet Baker's superb bop/vocal version from the mid-1950's. He converts it from a schmaltzy ballad to a real swinging, hip jazz classic. Amazing the potential some songs have-- I suppose you just need to be insightful enough to know how to rework them. Don't get me wrong: I love the old standard tunes done with the close harmony vocals.. But when you've heard a tune done as Baker does this one, it's hard to go back to the original!

  • @epf1961 : "Cornball version" ? I guess it's up to the individual listener to decide what is "cornball" . All musical tastes are different. I'm a sax player myself and you can see which version I uploaded.

  • @MrRJDB1969 : I did say that I do enjoy the old-time treatments of standards.. (I'm also a jazz saxophonist of over 30 years, as well as guitar, keys and vocals, and I appreciate and play all kinds of music).. However, there's no doubt that the general concensus would agree that, were this version and the Chet Baker version both placed on the "hipness scale", there's no contest as to which one would tip the scale further! Others: Feel free to do the comparison and comment herein....

  • @epf1961 : 30 years + on both the alto & tenor, also lead vocalist with a vocal group. I like Chet Baker as well, but personally, my musical tastes lean more towards the "Big Band Era" . To each their own.

  • Brings back memories from my teen years, which I am still in. Thanks for posting.
