Actually, what I think would be cool would be to take the old animated cartoons (with the original cast voices), redo the animation at a high level, with new music. If you combined two cartoons to make a full episode, you could end up with an entire 4th season of TOS.

Starfleet Command 3, which was used for the ship movement shots was 2003. Elite Force 2, which was used for the interiors and a few of the more complex exterior shots was 2004. The video was completed in September of 2006, after an 18 month effort.

The sound clips are taken from computer games. The actors were paid for all rights and all usages, so they're no longer concerned. The owner of the clips was Activision, but those rights devolved back to CBS when Activision gave up the Star Trek game distribution franchise. CBS is aware of my usage of the clips and approved the showing of film at an official Star Trek event, the first time this had ever happened. So your worries are completely misplaced.

Great question. The planet being referred to is the one that rogue Borg, under control of the Archeopendra virus, have converted into a doomsday weapon. You kinda have to watch the whole movie to understand what's going on.

I have been watching carious episodes for a about a week now and I want to thank you for creating and sharing this with us. Very creative use of the in-game dialogue. The people on the bridge were just stunned in preparation for future infection. Yes, the potential for a repeat incident is there, but the federation has the "converted" enterprise to study -- thereby giving the federation access to the latest Borg technology (like the mega-replicator used to convert entire planets) as well as the Exomorph biological information. That's why Picard is so confident that any future invasion will be futile.
