Of course, the master looked into the vortex as a child, now he can see things that are coming through the vortex. The time war is coming back in some form, skaro, daleks, gallifrey, fenric, the black guardian, all these things have been fore shadowed but one thing is for certain, the Master isn't the only danger, it's something bigger.

Even in torchwood we know something's coming through the darkness and the 21st century is when everything changes.
