  • WHAT AN ASOLUTE MEANINGLESS, DIRECTIONLESS AND USELESS VIDEO. WHAT IS ANYONE SUPPOSED TO LEARN HERE EXACTLY????

  • you rock

  • thanks for all the detailed stuff u just told considering im getting a ferret in less than 3 weeks!

  • What the hell did this goofy bitch teach me

  • @halifaxx55 your just to stupied thats why you learned notting

  • @TheBoydude101 you're right, I was too stupied to learn notting.

  • Wow didn't even tell people how to do it

  • scruff the ferret then tap it in the nose and say no or something like that then if they are out running aroud likemine do put them in their cage, that's how I do it with my ferrets

  • ummm when did she say how t corect it?

  • @JesseLeann10 theres a part two

  • can u just get one ferret and not many ?

  • Right this is Useless:

For all those people who acctuly need help about biting ferrets,

When your playing with them and they grab ahold of you, If you Tap the gently over the nose, they should stop. Like dogs, you stun them. DO NOT hit them to hard or over the top of their heads as you may hurt them.

This has been tried and tested and it does work, if you have any more trouble, PM me and I'll give you some advice.

Thums This up so People in need of help can get it!

  • @AdeleMaley Thanks for the info. I'll certainly need all the information I can get since I'm to get ferrets in about two months, but these vids really aren't helping lol.

Thanks again, and a thumbs up from me.

  • Mine does not bite me at all, its kinda sad cuz i wanna play with him. And he does not wanna play with me :( He plays with my cats but not with me! MY CATS ARE ATTENTION HOGS! THEY NEED TO BACK OFF MY FERRET!

  • What the fuck did I just watch?

If you dont want a ferret to bite you, yelp with pain when they do, when they bite they are only playing, ferrets have thick skin and fur to protect them from getting hurt when biting each other, so if you yelp with pain everytime they will soon learn it is causing you pain, and will stop.

    Seriously, its that simple.

  • bbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooobbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbboooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo

  • So I was wondering. What do you do to train your ferret to stop biting hard. Expert Village are a bunch of retards. they do no teach you anything!

  • There is NO information on HOW TO stop the biting!!! If you guys want to see real videos, where they actually tell you how to do stuff. Check out, MonkeySeeVideos!

  • scruffing works to correct ferret biting, i also put his head in my mouth, and OBVIOUSLY did not bite him, but he never bit me again, these are 2 of several recognized ways to discourage biting. remember that ferrets are small, and be careful, never hit your ferret.

  • For all the morons in the comments here: THERE IS A PART 2 TO THE RIGHT IN THE RELATED VIDEOS, GENIUS.

  • If I had ferret I'd teach it to steal valuables from my neighbors

  • USELESS, as usual. "Expert Village" is a joke and a crime. It is actually now under the ownership of "eHow.com", which is also a criminal organization, taking anything they can find, slapping an "expert" label on it and selling it as fact. They do far more harm than good and need to be prosecuted out of existence. This whole series is full of useless "information" like this. Sarah Tingle doesn't have any practical experience with raising or caring for ferrets at home (and it shows).

  • This videos are fucking stupid -__-

  • Well now I know everything about correcting ferret bites.

  • But how the fuck do you correct a ferret!!!!!

  • theres a part 2

  • Is it worth it to get a ferret if its gonna bite you all the time? I REALLY don't like being bitten by animals, considering i have sensitive skin, and i can feel it for a long time. I want one but i'm afraid it'll bite me once and i don't wanna neglect it by ignoring it thinking its gonna bite me again. what should i do?

  • @EliteBeast4 My ferret does not bite me at all! just make sure you play with the ferret in the pet store.. when i bought my ferret they took her out of the cage and played with her and they were telling me how gentle she is and i got to hold her.. the first store i went to they guy didnt even take it out of the cage or wake it up... :)

  • @EliteBeast4 if you're in america you can get something called 'bitter apple' ferrets hate the taste of this, so if you wear it on your hands while handling them, they will soon learn that they hate biting you. make sure to treat your ferret when he's being good.

  • why r u always in THAT place when your recording

  • When my male ferret use to bite hard, I placed my finger inside of his mouth and kept it there for a few seconds. It seemed to make him think about how hard he was biting and after a week or two of using this tactic he would only gently nip at my hands when playing.

  • this doesnt say anything at all about how to train a ferret! i have a pitbull (who is not dangerous, btw) but i REALLY want a ferret. ppl keep telling me not to get one because my dog will supposedly eat the ferret. i rele needed info on how to train them!

  • @Haleyvonneable I grew up with three dogs and we had two ferrets that got along with them. I think it depends on your dog's personality and how social she/he is. From what I remember, we introduced our ferrets slowly to our dogs. We held the ferret and allowed the dog and ferret to sniff each other. We did this for a few days and then allowed the ferret on the ground. We always had the dog on the leash just in case he decided to attack the ferret. Never leave a new ferret alone with a dog.

  • When your critter bites you (they will when babies, it's how they communicate) gently grab the lower half of their jaw (with your thumb slightly in their mouth) and hold for a few seconds. This makes them uncomfortable, and then they associate that biting you = uncomfortable. Since you only do this when they bite too hard, it may take a day or two but definitely works -owner of 5 fuzzies.

  • this is proof these people don't know what they're talking about. xD

  • First time I got bit by a ferret was in a classroom where the teacher had it as a class pet. Obviously the teacher didnt pay much attention to the poor critter or else why would he put it in a classroom full of kids?

  • give them a finger, if they bite it too hard, stick it inward very quickly and take it out. they don't like that feeling so next time they won't bite hard. My ferret learnt it within a few hours!

  • how do u get rid of all the writing that covers the screen???

  • i think they should change the vid title , cus this one clearly tells u nothin bout "HOW" which is the first word

  • She didn't even tell people how to get their ferrit to bite gently. She just said it was important to. Well no duh.

  • Stupid fucking expert village,

they make 1 minute long videos

of pointless nothingness, and thats the reason why they have so many damn videos.

Fucking idiots, just make a longer video to show how to FULLY do things not just 1 thing on every single damn video.

  • you should scruff the ferret imediatly after it bites you. (do not hurt your pet) if you hurt it it might bite you back.

so the thing you should do is scruff it and hiss at it..

thats how a ferret mother would correct a biting ferret

  • @Froastwolf thanks when i get my 2 ferrets (if they bite) im going to try this : )

  • I bet those black guys were buying animals to fight...

  • stupid stupid stupid... your suppose to tell us how to correct the damn biting... and your only just wabbling: you must have adult supervision... my ass... so stupid really..

  • can i have my 1:36 back please. what a waste of time. flagged it.

  • i have 3 ferrets 2 males one female and she ripped apart a 87 year old ladies skin on her arm in leg.. my ferret got out of her cage and we found out that shes a biter the hard way

  • Do NOT buy from Petland. Or any other pet stores. People are trying hard to fight the cruel practices these animals face, and purchasing animals only further supports the cruelty. Please contact your local ferret shelter. (Also, they are often much less in adoption fees...its not about the money like these inhumane businesses)

    :)

  • at what point sis she tell me HOW to correct them? she just said to correct them...

  • I got more info from the comments then this stupid video.. :/

Obviously you want to teach then how not to. geeze.. thanks to everyone who left a helpful "how to" since the video did nothing for us.

  • Once again, expertvillage has proved that there is nothing expert about them.

  • what she doesn't state is that you need to use a strong verbal command whilst correcting your ferret. If your ferret bites you should scuff it and say "no". DO NOT flick your ferret in the face- this may work on dogs but ferrets will only assosiate your hands with pain. This actually teaches them to bite back when handled.

  • what a dumb bitch

  • thumbs up for everyone that had the urge to retardely say HI SARAH! back at her...if noone thumbs this up..i know it was just me XD

  • @LoAfXD

:P Looks like it was just you.

But I often do the same kinds of things. lol.

  • When we had ferrets and we trained them to bite gently ( though most of them already did so from the start ) the method that worked well for us was this. If they would bite and it was to hard we would gently tap them on the nose/snout using our index finger. Be firm but gentle enough as to not cause the ferret any injury. If you repeat this process enough times they should eventually bite more gently.

  • u scruff the ferret that means grab it by the skin on its neck and hiss at it like its mother would do and it will stop biting so hard or stop all 2gether it depends on how much u scruff and hiss

  • she forgot to say when a ferret bites too hard PICK IT UP BY THE TAIL AND SLAM IT INTO A CACTUS. then step on it then buy a new one. at {Petland. Where she works. Did she mention she works at PETLAND???

  • Total lack of sensible ferret based information too short and just an ad for the place she works for!

  • so she doesnt actualy say how to stop them from biting? Perhaps the vid is metaphrical? On that note the best most humane training method nothing in otherwords hold the pet still. It is nonviolent/gentle and safe to the pet, and they learn that when they commit the bad behaviour the fun stops. like a 'time out' when animals dominate each other they hold the other down. . please dont flick their nose and make them fear your hand or get afraid of being sprayed with something.

  • When they bite, you give their nose a reasonably hard flick. That's all you do :) hope I helped, because the video definitly doesn't.

  • @HeatherFeather141. That's a good way to damage their noses. They are very sensitive. I feel sorry for your ferrets if that's the only way by which you could correct their behaviour.

  • lol

just like with a cat or small dog!

  • well that was... informative...

  • You've helped me sooo much well that nothing happened. UGHHHHHH

  • this was about as helpfull as a had full of shit...

  • When your ferret starts biting you slap the fuck outta him to teach him a lesson.

  • wow thanks for all that info. my ferret is currently killing my rottwieler and i will never be able to stop him.YOU WERE MY ONLY HOPE!!!!

  • Dog is super cute.

  • theres a part two

  • what jsut happend, i didnt learn anything at all.

  • Worthless video. Should be removed from site!

  • thanks for giving me absolutely no information on how to correct it. expert village sucks

  • does lemon juice or anything like that work??

  • I've recently heard about vinegar, but garlic is the best.

  • this video does not help at all! She does not even explain how to get them to be gentle!! Idiotttt

  • ye :/

  • ferrets bite my leg off and i dont even own one!OMG

  • Honestly, I found that ferrets tend to stop biting after about 4 or 5 months. I also noticed that since my first ferret doesn't bite, when I got the second, younger one, he stopped biting as soon as he noticed the first one didn't bite. Just a helpful hint.

  • My ferret used to bite shoes and feet mostly when I first got him, and I tried many things to get him to stop before I finally got bitter apple spay (I believe it was recommended in a book that I had read) as soon as I sprayed it on my hands, shoes, and feet, he was no longer interested in biting me or anyone else what so ever. I don't understand why you would want your ferret to learn to bite gently, ferrets have sharp, carnivores teeth and it hurts regardless of how hard they bite.

  • I am not sure how legitimate this 'expert' is, who didn't even explain how to teach your ferret anything, but my ferret was biting non-stop the first month I had him and after the bitter apple spray he stopped, and he has not bit anyone since then in all the 6 years I've owned him. Bitter apple spray is just the best thing for training ferrets not to bite, it worked almost immediately and the best part about it is that my ferret isn't afraid of me because I scruffed him or flicked his nose.

  • is the book you read named the essential ferret book or somthing like that/? i read it too

  • lol...um did i miss the part where she tells us how to correct biting?

  • @JasonTheMuse i like it when my ferret bites me :D feels good

  • ive tamed 4 year old working ferrets into pets and litter trained them no problems mine use to tend to bite me very nastie as soon as she would feel the hairs on my arms i just where i look sleaved jumper now problem sloved

  • For a ferret who bites because he is afraid of you, or wants you to leave him alone it will be alot harder to stop. Time, patience and thick leather gloves. You'll have to teach him hands are a good thing, not something to be scared of. Hitting or scruffing will only reinforce the idea that hands are scary. Hands bring treets, belly rubs, ear scratches, food, and all things good. Not pain.

I'm not an "expert", like the chick in this useless video, but it has worked for me.

  • Well that was a waste of time. I would say the best thing to do for a ferret who is just playing is to yell OW, and stop playing with him for a few minutes. He will learn that if he bites hard, playtime stops. Sad thing for a ferret.

  • This doesn't say HOW to teach them not to bite too hard...

  • when my ferret bites me i just scruff her and lightly tap her nose

  • get a job in Mc donalds

  • there to cute i

  • Most ferrets you will find grow out of the nipping its a kit thing. I did find though that scruffing and gently dragging along the floor helped a lot as this is what their mothers would do. Just stick with it dont get cross their not being mean they just love to play! My ferret often nips in play now and looks at me as if to say OOOPS lol.

  • how do u correct it she just chatted some sht thent that was it

  • fantastic! I am non the wiser

  • she didnt say how to CORRECT a biting ferret

  • if ur ferret bites u, u should scruff it by the neck, and hiss in its face. its what their mother would do.

  • ooooh ty

  • @piggylover321 thats what my mum did and i never bit her again

  • thats what i was thinking. these videos are useless/pointless, correcting pet ferret, HOW

  • yea wtf they never show use how

  • i absolutely HATE expertvillage...their vidz r short and useless!!!! they should replace "expert" with "waste-of-time"

  • She states the obvious (based on title) but never explains how to go about the corrections.

  • You 3/10, your ferrets 10/10

  • haha the video was crap but I like the two ninjas in the back ^^

  • thats mean

  • this didnt help me 1 little bit

  • I don't own ferrets and I could have told you everything she just said.

  • The sum total of this video is as follows:

    1) supervise your ferret with others

    2) train it not to bite hard

There is NO information about how to train the ferret, and no suggestions about where to get such information.

  • Spot on.

    "expertvillage" indeed.

Most of their videos completely blow, and are incredibly simple, and the "experts" seem rather ignorant.

  • ummm wow that was sooo unhelpful in everyway 1 star

  • Ok, Everything she said was in the title ?

    So called expert, Lol.

  • useless video.. she did not at all show how to teach them not to bite or how to correct them

  • your only saying ferrets are gay is because your gay its a fact when people do that means there go so go fuk off freak

  • Say that again but in English please. :)

  • u rely r stuped rnt u

  • Scruff and drag is pretty good. Also when they are young and after, when they bite you "scream" really loud just like the sound they would make.

Spanking and other physical disaplines don't work, they don't care! Get on their level and you will have a happy and well-adjusted animal.

  • wtf? so how DO you correct their behavior?

  • well i gave my guinea pig spanks like i do most animals>>.....they learn from it over tiem like a human does so i wotn argue, cuz its not abuse XD *loves asserting dominance on the cuties like it was to me*

  • thanks 4 giving me the imformation cause i'm getting a ferrret

  • I do the "Scruff, Shake and Drag" Technique, and also say NO! really loud. It works for my little man Dexter :)

  • i taught both my ferrets not to bite, one of them was a very bad biter that would often draw blood when he bit. what i did was whenever they would bite or try to bite i would take the side of my finger and slide it to the corners of his mouth so he cannot close his mouth for a few seconds. this is a good method because you dont cause any pain to the animal you just make it annoyed so it doesnt want to do it again.

  • I missed the part about "teaching them how not to bite"...

  • its not like there chomping on your hand its a cute friendly bite...

  • agreed.

  • there's a part 2...

  • scruff forgot the r

  • biting back is one way but its all about showing them who's boss. easiest way if they bite grab them by there scuff, not hard but just enough that they stop do this everytime they bite and they learn not to.biting less hard same concept hold by there scuff and let them gently nibble if they get to rough gentle pull up. but dont choke ur ferret gentle is the key here. worked on all three of my ferrets. now there completly trained!

  • i taught my to stop biting by biting him back. sorry but i was at the end of my tether. i had marks all over me and he was running along the sofa and biting my face.

  • how do u teach the ferret to bite less hard?

  • I just let mine bite me however hard they want and if it hurts just say no fairly loud. My ferrets stopped biting hard after about 2-3 days. You just play with them a lot.

  • It doesnt even explain anything...

  • so how do you get it to bite gently then?

  • bro she is ugly and no1 cares where she is or where she works like seriously...

  • or how bout u teach them to not bite at all whose with me when i say she is dumb and useless

  • I think a title change is necessary

  • very very helpful thanks for doing nothing i had mine sitting right here on my lap ready to teach her and nothing useful is said

  • This was useless. All that I learned was that I need an adult around while I have a ferret out. Gonna tell me how to correct the biting? Yeesh. Change the title of this video.

  • haha that WAS useless....dumb idiotz haha

  • Ok, this video is useless, all it tells you is that there's a possibitlity to stop your ferret bitting hard, it doesn't say how. It's useless! Can someone actualy help us, not this peice of rubbish!

  • well.. you're stupid.

  • da niggas in the back is about to steal something. lol jk!..

  • lol

  • Ha ha, there's actually a second part to that video. I found it later. They should tell you that though! :) Apparently you pick them up by their scruff. Hasn't worked on mine yet, he's been attacking a little tiger for the past 20 minutes.

  • Yeah, what the fuck?! I have my ferret here watching this video hoping he'll learn something but there was nothing in that video. Bullshit.

  • My thoughts exactly. I'm sitting here with mine ready to teach him and she didn't even say anything useful.

  • Petland?

    God damn.

  • yeah... sooo. when you gonna teach us how to stop ferrets biting?

  • Personally this video is a waste of time. .-.

Like seriously the only video i actually learned from other than this was the litterbox training, which she actually learned in like 2 days o_o; so yeah xD

This video is a waste of time though o.e

  • Hm... that didn`t actually tell you how to correct a ferret`s biting... n_n;

  • Wow. Thank you SOOO much for all that WONDERFUL help. -_-'

All of experts village videos are normally not worth listening to.

  • ....that was really pointless thanks alot for teaching me how to make my ferret stop biting.....

  • So?? how do you correct biting?

  • ..so uhh, HOW do u correct it?

  • ennit just, to correct mine biting, i put on some THICK THICK gloves when handling them, when they bit.. put your finger across the back of there mouth and just gently push back into there mouth, they don't like it, keep doing it, and they WILL stop biting!! guarenteed!!

  • Thick glove's Are you Kidding Me... what planet are you from.... There are much better method's Scruff'n.. Hiss at them.. Saying No... Bitter spray... Thick glove's Give's you no tactile feel of what the ferret is Doing... Even holding them Mobile for a time[ 5-10min ] Will calm them.... But glove Sorry NO... BTW I have 7 ferret's and Breed.... Never had to use Glove's.. For any of my ferret's Even the rescue I got..

    J

  • ok well..... i've had two vicious.. i mean VICIOUS ferrets that were rescue ones and gloves worked for me... so each to there own!!! they are as tame as anything now.... :)

  • but not too gently cuz otherwise they won't go "pah, get this finger out my mouth"!! lol

  • Thnx a bunch!!!

  • they didnt even say how to correct the ferret if it bites! What the Hell! Give me back my 1 minite and 36 seconds of life! damit!

  • these guys really don't know anything.

  • Wow daphne out of scooby doo lives. Seriously someone beat that woman to death with the ugly stick and the ugly tree by the looks of it.

  • black people in the back

    :D

  • They planned a robbery (yeah, at a pet store) but I guess the camera crew scared them off a little bit.

  • this was a waste of my time ; you don't show us how to stop the biting .!!

  • so it wont matter if the dog is big and the ferret is small? the big don wont hurt the ferret?

  • What a waste, more of a plug for where she works.

  • these people dont know anything

  • how did this teach us how to make it stop biting

  • ...What part of the video had anything to do with the title?

What a waste of video space...

  • Comment removed

  • Hi Doctor retard,

I have a question for you, How do you stop your ferret from smelling like old piss from a dirty night club toilet?

& do you smell like ferret piss?

  • great question! thumbs up buddy!

  • was that a serious question?

  • ah no I really don't think it was... do you like cats? my cat just did a smelly poo.
