Most in the audience were fellow musicians, actors and people belonging to the Acting Guild, Directing Guild, disfellowshiping guild, etc. When Tori came into sing it was usually a rush and despite the songs and intensity she was quite depressed. The visit to the piano was usually after a visit to the morgue. The audience were aware of the forty year mood swings, the need for soft lavender/blue/green lites. The quietness would have been so awful. Maybe this is why people sing
Is it not possible for the fans to let her play without constantly hooting and obscuring her voice? I mean, once or twice to interrupt a slow song showcasing someones voice is one thing, but through the whole song? Is it just me, or does anyone else find that incredibly annoying? I just saw the Boss recently and you could hear a pin drop through all of Downbound Train and several other ballads.
I couldn't agree more. The caliber of her talent alone is reason enough for these assholes to STFU, but the general lack of respect for her is lost on them. She's called her fans "classy" people in the past, but this was clearly a different crowd.
@kingpin1938 I agree TOTALLY!!! That is one thing that drives me crazy about Tori fans. I am a huge Tori fan....but I like to sit and listen. I want to HEAR IT not MYSELF.
well said ffincz, and I completely agree. Tori is a fucking goddess, and can't perform any song and put her unique styling to it and make it sound perfect. Her voice is just fucking haunting. I will always love Tori.
I have no words, it's so funny and weird and beatiful. She only sang Britney's song but she did it perfectly. I love her covers beacuse they're not like copies, they're more like "translations" to the language of her and Bö.
Thanks for posting! I had a great time at this show and this was one of my favorite parts of the night! Her voice is awesome. She actually makes it a good song!
OMG! What great audio you captured! What a fun cover! And the other surprise to me was.. that first photo of that girl and Tori.. is ME! LOL! Wish I coulda made the Oakland show - what a great setlist!
This is one of the best covers I've heard of this song, 2nd only to the Travis' version. I hope Tori includes the .DAT track/rendition as a B-Side to some future single.
Me too... "you always do"... ha ha ha... love the causticity of this so nonchalantly thrown in at the end of this putative love song... and it flows so perfectly with the topos of power pivotal to her latest release... love her eloquence, fervour and humour... and WOW is she 'on' vocally this time around :-o Thanks so much for all the tapings and sharings, Robert !
