People say that norwegian is a hard language to learn. I don't know why but maybe because we have two writinglanguages. And we have to learn them both.
@aila1991 Well, every foreign language is hard. I read somewhere that Polish is the hardest one (case system + 5 genders), and after it Finnish, Estonian and Hungarian. I've been in Sweden several times and I learned couple of things from TV (I suppose Norwegian is similar). Here we have Hungarian TV and all I learned is good afternoon and good evening! btw I know Serbian is hard because of the grammar (3 genders, 7 cases and 14 times) but writing is easy...
It's words like those that make me love Finnish. I can pronounce most of them, but only very slowly. As for their meanings, no idea, might have been nice to add the English to the video..
"Appilan pappilan apupapin papupata pangolla kiehuu ja kuohuu" is a very old tongue twister, I modernized it with pankolla -> pangolla. Translated: "The peasoup of the the apprentice priest at the rectory of Appila boils and hisses over on the stove.
Dutch words are pretty hard to pronounce correctly for those who don't speak the language fluently. I think 'hagelslag' or something would be hard enough xD
Especially when you're from West-Flanders, were people don't pronounce the difference between soft h, and hard g... it's all 'h' for them (and so for me, coming from West-Flanders)
So yeah... i pronounce 'hagelslag' like 'hahelslah'
Whenever i hear someone from West-Flanders say 'muggengeheugen', it always cracks me up cuz it sounds like muüheheuh'n. Me too have some difficulties pronouncing it XD
But i love finnish ! Hope to speak it somewhat fluently some day..
yeah, it's epäjärjestelmällistyttämättömyydelläänsäkäänköhän. but the longest is lentokonesuihkuturbiinimoottor iapumekaanikkoaliupseerioppila skohan

Hey woow, thanks a lot for the video! It's sooo funny =)) I hope I'll be able to learn them all ^^
And Maarasa, thank you so much for the translations! It's very intresting. Do you also have a translation for "ärrän kierrän ympäri orren"? Probably you posted it, but I can't find it :(
epäjärjestelmällistyttämättömyydellänsäkään - Wow, the longest word in Finnish! I could imagine that it's the longest word ever, or is there a longer word in another language?
Hm... I try to describe it... You (plural) don't let yourself to be unhollowed by others. So you behave in a way what prevent others for unhollowing you. And in complete the word means because of that behavior. I hope you understand (:
So this word hasn't a really important meaning, because I don't think e.g. somebody would deserve punishment because of he is holy and he doesn't let us to make him unholy. And in other expression I can't really imagine that word.
Arad alatt van Tas laka, hatalmas falakkal, nagy vas lakattal. A hatalmas falakat Tas apja rakatta. Tas anyja hatalmas alma halmazt raka az asztalra. A hat kamasz fakanalakkal, vaskanalakkal apasztja a hatalmas alma halmazt.
According to Wikipedia, epäjärjestelmällistyttämättömyydellänsäkäänköhän means "I wonder if — even with his/her quality of not having been made unsystematized."
Sanotaan, että Portugalin on yksi vaikeimmista kielistä ...
Ei tunnettuja suomalaisia.
Käytin google kääntäjä kirjoittaa tämän. : ^)

It's a very impressive word! 8))

The longest Hungarian word I know (44) is one character longer than that Finnish word (43) - but myabe I miscounted it. So this is:
megszentségteleníthetetlenségeskedéseitekért. (:
hiljaisentalvenlapsi 3 years ago 3
Wow, thank you! :) and can you translate it? Or is it too difficult to say in English?
4Amya4 3 years ago
And in other expression I can't really imagine that word.
hiljaisentalvenlapsi 3 years ago
what does it means?

Arad alatt van Tas laka, hatalmas falakkal, nagy vas lakattal. A hatalmas falakat Tas apja rakatta. Tas anyja hatalmas alma halmazt raka az asztalra. A hat kamasz fakanalakkal, vaskanalakkal apasztja a hatalmas alma halmazt.

Heres another twister, I think I got the spelling right...
-Älä sinä rääkkää sitä äijän kääkkää!
-En minä rääkkääkään!
That should be something like:

I'm not tormenting him!

I think you should teach us, how we can make a sentence...telling us the verbs with the conjugations, pronouns...
in my case i can´t realise wich word is a verb or a pronoun or an adjetive...
