you do amazing training for your dog. :) If you have not figured out 'stay' yet, all you do is has them sit, and bend over a bit, look at them in the eyes, and tell them "Stay" and slowly back away with your hand extended out. He should stay, but you have to keep saying the word "stay" and just do a few steps at first, and then when you say "good boy!" he should come to you and just give him his treat. o:
wow man!! first of all congrats man you are having a well trained Min Pin. I also adopted one recently it is 13 months old and I'm finding it hard to train her to potty out side... I would really appreciate if you could give me some suggestion and tips to train her... or you could upload any video on that... :) Thanks in advance :)
good training! your both really talented! I have just finished basic agility training with my dog ( collie X shepherd) i think you should try that once you get the basics down, he seems fairly focused ( for a pup).
I love the way you're training your puppy! I do animal care courses and found out that most people use treats to teach their puppies plus they get two big meals a day which cause the animals to become fat - I love how you make him work for his food. Well done, keep it up!
hey man check out my vids.. i train dogs on the side for a hobbie!! i mainly specialize in bully breeds! all dogs can b great if raised right!! and hey if u have a petco up there get HALO DOG FOOD!! its the best!! make shure u do research on the food!! its important!! NO KIBBLES N BITS! LOL.. u want the first ingreadent to b meat.. no fillers, meal, or byproducts
what we did with our dog to teach them to stay was to say sit stay with the back door open and if the did they got to come in if they dint they would stay outside for another 10 min then we would try agin it works great now we can even go out the front door go in the shop then come back and they are still there they wont move untell we say ok.
-- 2nd part of comment -- make them sit exactly where they were and say Stay. then walk away, if they follow, walk back at them again and make them sit back in the exact spot as you told them to stay at from the beginning. Keep doing that and thats how my dogs learned.
We do "kibbles n bits" for our dog, different dog food for different dogs make them act differently like with most of my dogs in the past, if i feed them a certain brand for a long time, like a year, then try to switch the brand, they get sick and puke every where, so careful with that. Also, this is how my dogs learned to stay, I would tell them to sit, then walk away a few feet, then turn around, if they follow, you walk walk back at them and make them go back to exactly where they were and -
@SomeRandomFeller yeah, so far I've been lucky - he doesn't bark at knocks on the door, he doesn't bark at animals outside, and he hasn't really barked at all inside either, only whined a bit when he wanted food or a treat, but I think he's doing that less now too.
@flamingosunlimited yeah... kinda... but so far no problems, seems like jack doesn't bother me at all. I played with him for like an hour before getting him, and his scratches on my arms didn't get like red or allergic, usually in the past that would happen a bit. so far he hasn't really bothered me at all... maybe living in my home with so much animals has gotten me less allergic, I duno.
He's so cute!! What type of food do you feed him?? Don't feed him any grocery brand do food like iams or pedigree because those foods are usually just made of meat biproduct, fillers(like corn) and artificial vitamins.
@earthling1984 royal canin is a pretty good brand, it's not bad quality, but it is not the most amazing. I have a 7 year old Border Collie and I feed him Performatrin Ultra. It's a bit pricy, but a big bag last a long time, and my dog is very healthy, and his coat is very shiny. People always compliment him on how soft and shiny his coat is. As long as your puppy is relatively heathy, active, has a heathy coat, is at a normal weight, and has good poops, then the food your feeding him is good :)
I have a few dogs but my smallest is a Jack russel but when they got mouthy like that rub frozen butter on ur wrist and it well teach him to be more gentle :D I look forward to more animal vids :)
@earthling1984 hey all your animals are awesome you actually inspired me to get a couple reptiles and now i love reptiles im thinking about getting a crested gecko are they harder to keep than a bearded dragon or a leopard gecko because i all ready have those
@nishbrown lol, I'll have to teach him to get in a prone position during those sayings.. not sure what to do with 'lasanga' lol. I do love the prancing lol.
@strhunter666 thanks. yeah I have been seroiusly thinking of joining a puppy training class. it would be good for him to be around other dogs too while training, cus he can get a little distracted when not in my home.
I have taught my min-pin to say YES! when asked if I am the smartest. :-)
