Trinity couldn't have killed Lundy. He has a 'code,' just like Dexter does. Think of Trinity as the more evolved form of Dexter (e.g., he's able to be open with his family).
Quinn IS a dirty cop, and Dexter touched a nerve when he told Quinn he didn't care that he was a dirty cop. Him catching Quinn steal $ foreshadows all the dirty things Quinn will get into later in the season.

i dont think that dexter does kill trinity in the next episode because the axe at the top is too red its like he dipped it in somethink cuz i think ( and i maybe wrong) but if you were to kill a human with an axe only the blade part would be red ( like the line of the blade) and the axe might have some blood spatter not be totally red. this looked like he put the axe in something. just a guess i could be totally wrong though.

I think dexter killed lundy because he was scared of lundy finding out HE was the real bay harbor butcher! And since dexter only kills with a knife his aim was off and accidently hit Deb.
