I started studying Guitar at the age of 7, I am now 64, I've played professionally for well over 40 years, Studio Musician for three major recording studios, played with such names as the Rolling Stones, Tiny Tim, Mallissa Manchester, Jimmy Durante, etc. etc., I too have a lot of talent,

how would you guys feel if I said I owe my talent to Satan?

You see it goes two ways, it is because of much practice, not some spook in the sky.

@andrascome i wouldnt deny that one. im a christian but before i was a christian i was into the heavy metal scene. and i was on my way to becoming a music producer i was gonna be going to school for that. well i had things happen in my life that eventually led to my conversion but i remember talking out loud to my self and i said the only way i will not give my life to God is if i somehow became amazingly good at music, got in a band became a producer, and pretty much did what i always wanted...

@andrascome what i always wanted...well although i was good at music, i wasnt suuper good like say eddy van halen good. well the next day i was 5 string guitar sweeping and i couldnt do that before, i practically tripled my performance over night. well i got a little scared becuase i knew what was going on, i heard of people doing stuff like that, and how they ended up getting stick in the music scene and how the devil didnt want them to leave and they ended up not living a very good life...

@andrascome ...they were rich and all but they still wanted to leave. it was kindof like selling there soul to the devil. well i prayed that day and repented, my talent droped, i still play guitar and it has increased but not supernaturally increased. so ya you might owe your talent to satan, God probally gave you that talent in the first place and then it got perverted.

But yes reality is much more boring I give you that. Our parents genetically transmitted us some kind of random mix of their personality when the fusion of the sperm and the ovul happened. Also education and experience has a lot to do, then work, then practice, then passion

@andrascome God gives us talents, its out job to use them, pratice is apart of that, but its like for instance, some people will never be able to play guitar because they arent musically talented but they might be amazing at fixing and building things, etc somepopel are good at both, some people have lots of talents others have a few but they are all God given.

google on "Civilla Martin", who wrote the song . . . . Charles Gabriel wrote the music . . . . and the song was really made "famous" during the Billy Graham crusades of the late 50's and early 60's . . . .it is, for my money, one of the truly great ones
