  • I came to this via the Lennie Tristano piss-take on Facebook.......NOW we're talkin'....or Walkin'....or Whatever....MILES!...Mutha Fuckas!

  • MILES SMILES @ 0:48

  • This is right about the time frame where my interest in jazz ends. I can tolerate Dizzy and Bird, but Miles grates on my nerves. Pops, of course, was God!

  • @Hoopermazing huh????? wow you're crazy

  • @KhalDrogo76 Most of what Miles did after "Birth of the Cool" was a load of cacophonous bullshit. Don't like it? Eat a dick.

  • @Hoopermazing the 4 and more concerts are some of the greatest music ever performed in western civilization, sorry you cant snap your fingers to it...cat...

  • i like how ron carter starts using harmonics to tune his bass while still walking at4:32

  • ¡Qué agrupación!

  • I don't know why this is listed as "Improvisation." It's "Agitation."

  • holy shit, Miles smiled!

  • Surely Miles Smiles? :)

  • this tempo is sick. pretty sure it's not steroids.

    heroin.

    love you miles.

  • ron is like 8 feet tall.

  • he could use that bass as a walking stick if he wanted to. ;)

  • @jloch85 ahahajajajajajajaj

  • r his drum sticks black or is that just the video?

  • I think this was in Germany, perhaps Stuttgart, around 1967. Thanks for the clip

  • Nice footage and i guess pretty rare. The tune's called Agitation and not 'improvisation' as the tape suggests.

    Thanks for the upload :)

  • Wayne may be gone as you say. However, assuming this recording was made in 1954, the blazing 19 year old Tony Williams is not gone. This group is pretty much 20/20/20/20/20 on the talent scale, but I'd be tempted to plug in a 22.5-25 for this amazing youngster who left us in the lurch with his early passing. On the other hand, jazzart1, many thanx for your generosity.

  • @tommythomaso this is definitely not '54 sounds lik '67

  • @ilikememusic Ilike, this is definitely mid-sixties. I can't decide. When I play this Miles group: Shorter, Hancock, Carter and youngster Williams I think it's the best ever. Then when I listen to the Messengers with Shorter, Fuller, Cedar, I'm thinkin' this can't be topped. Then Shorter and "Soothsayer" starts playin' and I'm thinking it doesn't get any better.

  • Kouklev, I can reliably inform you that Wayne Shorter is in London, and I'm so looking forward to seeing him play tomorrow night at the barbican!

  • WHERE IS WAYNE???????????????

  • Tape ended. The next solo was his.

  • cool!
