It does not take a rocket scientist to see that any expense a theater owner endures when purchasing these clips will, over time, boost snack bar revenue and make it worthwhile. Some drive ins don't bother, but some do. My posting of the "Tri Way Drive In, Plymouth Indiana" shows an owner with common sense, weith lots of clips to improve hios snack bar sales. Thank you for posting this clip[. Pleasant memories that sdome take for granted.
This is fantastic! Thanks for sharing. When I was a kid I would go to the Mt. Clemens Drive In all the time. Since your a local, you obviously know they sadly tore it down years ago. Thanks again.
If you want a list of all the drive-in in MIchigan, search for a link called winterwaterwonderland. It has a list of all the drive-ins and theatres that were built in Michigan from the turn of the century.
I too saw Star Wars at the local drive-in, the Mustang in Sarnia, Ontario. I thought the best part of the drive in experience were the intermission ads.
star wars..at a drive in,. now i that would have been an experience. would have jumped across the pond to see that. this is one reason i like youtube, this sort of never forgotten stuff. i';m suprised their aint a site up loaded with stuff.......erm.. an idea?
This is Farout. The last Drive-In Theater here in San Antonio, TX. just closed forever on october of 2007. It was vandelized over the winter months so the owners dicided to close it for good. The total cost for repairs would have been around $500.000. Goodbye Mission 4 Drive-in.
Part 1) What I wouldn't give to have an actual video when I went to the drive in 30 years ago. My youth was spent at the Gratiot drive in. When I had kids of my own I took them all the time when we lived near Lansing.
fantastic (in spite of darkness), glad to know you are sharing the love of the screen...I used to go to the GALAXY in Warren michigan, which went down in early 80s(?)...try a slower aperture speed next time

Part 2) I saw Star Wars for the first time at a drive in when I got back from a tour. It was great despite the sound not being what it is today.
I took my kids as often as I could before the drive ins started disappearing. Great Memories. Thanks for helping to preserve them, like you do.
