i always felt that the banshees where connected with the goth black leahter heroin scene of the 80s, but amazingly they never touched drugs, but their music is so inspired by the outcast, the rejected and their gloomy horrible lifes, depression of the 80s... berlin wall etc
The Banshees will go with me to my grave. I love their talent and her voice is amazingly strong and clear. Someone who is trully passionate about her art. Many of their lyrics have inspired me to paint or to title my work as such. I have loved them since I first came across them in mid 80's no one has come anywhere near since.:)
well your stpuid or illiterate? the next video was nightshift so they should have just played it through,,so now what? carry on with the name calling or kiss and make up?

FUCK MARS VOLTA HOW DARE YOU TRY TO PROMOTE THAT PIECE OF GARBAGE COVER THEY DID FUCK YOU Siouxsie and the banshees is the best MARS VOLTA Sucks BALLS
so what you're saying is that they fucked up at the drive in by being a better band and the sole reason they covered pull me to bits was to fuck up siouxsie and the banshees? you smart sir.
@shasaki2 the koolest thing about the Banshees is that EVERY album is different from the one before and the one after...then, there's the Creatures to contend with.....you'd do best by starting at the beginning....even the bsides are exemplary.........this is one band that NEVER sold out and still remained completely original and uncopied........well, after the Cocteau Twins and the Cure (who DID, in fact, copy the Banshees!)
Thank you for sharing this...She was THE powerful woman for so many of us growing up as girls in a very male dominated world, even musically/creatively...and I love that she took her name from the native American tribe.
This is so much better than the studio version...SteveSeverins bass is amazing&RobertSmith on guitar shows what a great job he did after the departure of JohnMcGeoch(RIP)
I believe Smiths input to the Banshees was mutually beneficial to all concerned at this time-something which seems to still rankle Siouxsie judging by her ungracious remarks about Smith in the offical Banshees bio.
Anyway-Banshees,Cure,Glove,Creatures-all great bands!!!-thanks for posting!!!
I think Robert smith's influence was meant (he was in the banshees twice I think) but Morrissey (ex-Smiths frontman) did a duet with Sioux called 'interlude'. I think that's where any confusion starts.
i was convinced there was no studio version. i have had 9 or 10 siouxsie albums and never heard it. i know you say it's not as good but still want to hear it. what the fuck album is it on?!
@duerdenn I think she was jealous about the reception the Cure were getting, as they were supporting the Banshees when John left 1-2 dates into the tour! They did try a couple of guitarists, but Bob Smith knew ALL the Banshees stuff! Seamless.
...from Nocturne. Fellow Cure members during this period feared Robert would leave & join the Banshees, cos he enjoyed the lack of pressure, not being the lead, & also The Cure's future at this point was not certain. Strange to think how at this point, The Banshees future was more certain than the Cure's, funny how things change xxx.
God i love this song its such a NUMBER SONG TO play after POPPING 4 OR 5 DARVOCETS OR 6 vicodons woooo I LOVE THIS SONG RUBER JAMMMS ITS ROwdy on the 12 string I LOVE U SIOUXSIE SIOUXSIE LONG LIVE JOHN MCGEOCH
wow, that was an amazing preformance. Different than the studio. Not better, deffinately more textured and professional sounding, but it doesnt have as much punk additude as the studio version. That doesnt make it better or worse, just has a deffinate shift in mood.

Rob's guitar is amazing on this. Totally flowing and awesome but understated at the same time. He's pretty much only second to Geordie from Killing Joke.
that little bit of Night Shift at the end kills me!! i bought this on vynil TWICE when it came out, so i would always have it. but this here is all i've ever seen from the vid of the show
Love siouxsie from day one. We r like twins. Everyone says.

Severin and Budgie are SO GOOD. Pity Siouxsie can't whack that tambourine in time.
I bought the DVD (already had the vinyl) for this song (and Cascade). One of my favourite eras of music. This album + Blue Sunshine. Love it.

Robert Smith was a brilliant guitarist, but he didn't nearly play with as much heart and soul on this song as McGeoch did.

She is Siouxsie Sioux, The Mars Volta made a cover in their studio album "The Bedlam in Goliath". She and her band were pretty famous in 80's.
