@kev7978 actually this was the original demo version. recorded 6 months before the version everyone knows. they decided to release it as a remix though. the lyrics used to be a lot different as well, a lot ranchier, but they changed it before it was recorded.

What strikes me is that the album version is sung so well, every note is hit, sounds very oure...whereas live, she was never able to sing it like on the album ? Her voice changed a lot I gues..

@deslut Her live vocals for this song were always more like the remix than the original. It's easier for her to sing like this, more natural and doesn't try too much to change it.

@deslut i remember reading it online somewhere a long time ago when the album had dropped. it was recorded a good 6 months i believe before the version we know was recorded. they tweaked it to blend in more with the rest of the album. i love both versions though. and i love this woman.

@deslut Because the newest version (album version) was out of her vocal range, she's an alto with some high notes, but several low ones, and this song is for a mezzo with lots of high notes. I think the record label shouldn't try to change her way to sing and force her to sing in an unnatural way, because that harmed her amazing voice a lot. You can tell it because through the years she has been singing less and less her songs, not because she doesn't want, but because she can't.

This is a much better mix and its a much better song than "From the Bottom of My Broken Heart" which was released as the fourth single hear instead of "Born to Make You Happy". I love this song. :D
