  • BON BAGAY!

  • vodou yep! slavery, poverty, disception, EARTHQUAKE! and we are free, still free, proud of our heritage and history. suffering and smiling. work with our imagination and bare hands. we know where ous strength comes from, the Creator. and HE is with us, our sustainability proves we are prefered. who else can go through so much and still survive, singing and dancing? sending praises to the Creator and the ancestors. AYIBOBO

  • call and response

  • This is not voodou chant, this is how we black americans worked when we were on the railroad. Singing is a stress reliever.

  • @supervirtuouswoman It is atualy voodoo songs, it may sound familiar to black americans because yall also came from Africa and most West African practiced this religion, but in the British colonies this was outlawed and you would pay with ur life, has u converted to CHristianity ur songs changed into godpel music but the rythms didnt change much.

  • Get to work! At this rate the trench will take a year!

  • these are work songs! great

  • sounds like the chants the africans used in the south (us)on the plantations(work songs)

  • haha ty , far from vodoo

  • @dreadtodred Well, we are related- the global African presence. No matter how hard some try to deny it.

  • @bolekaja1 yes you are right . Most dont know that denial is harder than accepting the truth,Peace.

  • @dreadtodred That's exactly what I was thinking. Even in the drumming. Much love to our Haitian family.

  • I'm not saying that we don't have european ancestry too which most of the world fail to acknowledge when they hear the title Haitian/Aysyen(I purposely lake out the [I] lol).Haitian people need to relearn to appreciate their african roots just like they chase european ideology mostly for technology and ecomic purposes. We were poor and now poorest but the gatherings that looks more like us were beautiful-We trash Africa because it's poor in picture- you can only get rich if you promote yourself

  • @fravilmarr lmao I love your comment so perfect people think Africans are ugly dirty an poor whihc is why everyone hates Africa

  • @fravilmarr Africa is RICH. Beyond rich. MEGA WEALTH. People "trash" Africa because of their own resentment at Africa's enormous wealth and their own sense of inferiority. Boxite, gold, oil, diamonds, you name it, Africa has it. The world depends on the exploitation of Africa to fuel their own exploitative economies. Africans are NOT poor. They are simply being stolen from and represented by African politicians who agree to hand over their people's wealth in exchange for bribes and protection.

  • @MeAndHubbyToo More specifically, those African politicians are groomed by the United Nations (ie Mamphela Ramphele) and the World Bank to represent the financial interests of Europe and the US. By that, it means they must agree to hand over the wealth of Africa to the poorer Europe and the US to increase the financial gain and economy of those countries, lest they be assassinated in a "coup plot" and replaced with a more docile/compliant African president, chosen by Europe & The US.

  • @MeAndHubbyToo They are trying to do the same in Latin America, in particular with Hugo Chavez and Evo Morales, but the Latin Americans are finally fighting back. We must do the same, as pan-Africans!

The most powerful, richest people of this earth, and ironically, the most successfully divided. That includes ALL OF US. If we want to be "rich" again, acting as a united African front, no matter where we were born, is the ONLY way. Whites use the term "divide and conquer" for a reason!

  • This is (Kombit)--Konbit means-a get together to work the land in Haitian agruculture lifestyle back in the days...lol it is used to make the day go faster and the ladies provide free food for the workers...vodoo was the top of our culture like christianity is today.Everything derived from its tree, work, sports, dance...that doesn't mean everything is vodou. H-culture was beautiful before our brains became european...

  • This is a traditional koumbite. Very beautiful. Many wonderful folk interpretations of this aspect of Haitian life are performed worldwide. It is wonderful that you posted this. Haiti has been so kind to me. What a beautiful culture and people!
