  • awesome !! btw ur hilarious!!

  • 240p... we meet agai... oh nevermind =P

  • almost all dance music is minor, it might have major in the progression but 90% of all dance music is mainly in minor

  • Explained very well. Short and Sweet. Good stuff. Very helpful.

  • What about relative minors?

  • eeewwwww

  • Im not gonna lie i stopped djing about 6 months ago after 15 years and i tried mixed in key for about 6 months and it really is amazing. I would say more so for house , trance djs etc with alot of chords/keys.

I mean as a dj you should know your tunes etc but it is impossible to play a set as perfect as you can having this knowledge. I was playing an electro tune knowing as soon as it drops i can bring the next in etc with the chords and they work so perfect it makes u cry.

    GET IT !

  • what about dubstep? minor ??

  • @guitarsalert

    most dub is minor

  • Need to marry you **busizz4me.info**

  • Question: if you want to PITCH MATCH two songs, one is 5A and one is 10B how do you know how many semitones to pitch shift it. is there a formula for this??

    thanks

  • @ELARROCK 2.1% = half a key !

  • i downloaded it but what is the VIP CODE??????????=/

    any help please

  • Im fairly new at these type of stuff and your video is very well educational and thank you for making it. Cheer :D

  • how do u know what key the tunes are in

  • these 3 videos on mixing in key really helped me and saved me ALOT! thanks J

  • Good Stuffs man!!!

  • Good tutorial but left out a major component.... don't forget to use your MIK chart for certain effects such as energy boost mixing!!!

  • lol awesome video.

  • Love the humor J, great set of mixing tutorials! Thank you!

  • But it depends olso of what kind of cd player u have. i mean pioneer go less often of the beat than numark or american audio.

    bye

  • OMG, you talk shit dude, cult of pioneer member huh?

Let me tell you, as a professional who has worked on Pioneers, Reloops, American Audio's and Numarks, Reloop is the ONLY player i've ever worked with that actually cant do a solid pitch.

I'm currently working on American Audio Radius 2000's to practice at home, and they ARE just as good as the Pioneer CDJ-400's I often play with at smaller clubs.

  • haha u sayin bout the loads o fpeople comenting ayins ur wrong...u scared em off by sayin it xD haha ...i dunno what im on bout really...meh im happy lol u made me lol tho xD

  • i use vinyl is it still possible to use theis? cn i just record my vinyl tracks then drop them into the mixed in key thing?

  • Yep, that's exactly what you would do.

  • @ladybrock :

yes, although you would need a keyboard. Listen to your record, recognize the key by trying on the keyboard keys, and once you got it, simply write the letter on your record cover. You'll just have to put them in sequence in your bag and you can go.

Used to do this until I turned to digital, but it is a good exercise!

  • What would be a good place to start hour wise on the Camelot Wheel???

    -Mike-

  • One that corresponds to the song that the DJ before you left playing ; )

  • You can allso jump up by 2 (i.e. 6A -> 8A). That way you'll pump some energy in the mix

  • So does the number only make sense if you use the programm ? Or do the numbers also mean somehting like how much a tracks pulls u up or takes u down ? Whats the exact meaning of these numbers ?

  • Only if you use the program

  • The numbers are only used so u dnt have to memorize wot key comes after wot on the wheel, like 12B=E major, 1B=B major, 2B=F sharp major. Just simplifies everythin

  • Whats the meaning of the numbers? :S

  • The keys represent the keys on the wheel of fifths. You can go up one number or down one number and your mixes will always sound smooth. You can also go from minor to major within the same number. Please visit our website for more information.

  • ooops, typo: The *numbers* represent the keys on the wheel of fifths.

  • Very good question, exactly the same I've asked myself...

  • You will still need to use the pitch control to adjust the tempo of your tracks. Mixed In Key will tell you the key, and as long as you stay within +-3%, your track will still be in key. If you are using CDJs or mixing software with a key lock function, then you will want to enable it.

  • Circumcise the lot of them?! thats not very nice

  • You are totally right, most Trance is in minor keys!

Love your vids, keep up the great work!

  • it seems i misunderstood some things i read :D

    sorry

  • isn't it true that pitching changes the keys?

so you would have to use tracks with 0%-pitch and the nearly same key.

    sounds boring to me :/

  • I got loads of dark and deep tracks and they make me happy :)

  • classical musicians know this instinctively (it's bliss)......

  • good vid

  • These are a lot better than your old key videos on the piano.

  • I totaly agree with you!! j

  • @theillestboYee Ugh, circle of fifths... I just had a flashback to my guitar teacher...

  • that diagram is known as the circle of fifths, right?

  • Right, it's based on the circle of fifths. This whole method is called "Camelot Easymix system", created by Mark Davis from harmonic-mixing (dot) com. Mark allowed us to use it in Mixed In Key software.

  • i sometimes mix a hard trance tune (in A Major) back to tracks in F Major...... (sounds pretty nice because of harmonic coherance).....

  • nice...i like!
