omg i love this man..understand the prob with the mic..but if the vocals were louder i think i dig this version better than steve miller band's.. but steve's still the man haha. but u guys really rocked.
Finally, someone played it with the right attitude. A lot of the other videos are alright but the people sing it without the smirk, like a ballad or something!
i agree with the gain being too hi, the bass sounds fine thoe, and vocal do have to be up. I really dig the wah-pedal your using, sounds goo in this cover, drums sound great, I really like how you guys made this your style cover.. great job
Bad ass Effects guys! Singer was right on! You guys made the song much more exciting, especially with the fills. I wish my band would cover this song -.- No one ever listens to the drummer...
WOW! Im not a huge Steve Miller fan, even though he was born just Mins. from where I live in Wisconsin. But having said that, I loved your cover. The improv was very cool. As for the Strat v Paul debate, they are both great guitrs. As for me ,Im not a brand snob. I play what I like and what feels right in my hands. True music comes from the heart of the player not the brand of the instrument.
no way, i hope you were talking about the epiphone models. i think strats a better deal money wise, but comparing it with a real gibson les paul is a joke.
yeah, nothing agaist the epiphones or anything, especially with the 8 new models they have coming out. gibson lespauls are just amazing. maybe not worth the extra thousand bucks or more, but i know how amazing they are just by playing one at guitar center. ironically, i ended up buying the new strat model for 1000$
still, a les paul studio in Sweden (where I live) cost about $1900, so they are a lot cheaper in the US. I would like to own a strat (since I have a les paul), but when I tried it out it didn't agree with me... it was really hard to play it(!)
The biggest difference (besides pick-up configs) is the scale of the guitar. Les Pauls and most other gibson/epiphones are 24.75 scale. Which makes for less string tension (helps bends, vibrato, etc..) Most fenders are 25.5 scale which makes the strings tighter and more poppy sounding. It really all depends on the sound you want. But the above comment saying that strats are a joke compared to nice les pauls is pony loaf. Play a nice strat and you will say otherwise. Truly they both rock!
haha i have the new 1000$ strat model, which is amazing, and i still think my friends lespaul is far superior. but thats personal preference. one thing i dont like about the strat is its weak distortion compared to the les paul. its not bad distortion, just nothing in comparison. yes, i agree both guitars rock
i mean les paul's were ment to be rhythm guitars and strats are better suited as lead i mean you can hear the diffrence its liek slash vs hendrix or clapton(blues breaker days) to buddy guy the strat is just a over all stronger instrument
Have you ever even played a Les Paul? The amount of distortion that thing cranks is unbelievable... and slash is no rhythm guitarist and like 85%-90% of his guitars are Les Paul or Gibson.. and I know Les Paul is made by Gibson.
hey guys, its jay from the band cross fire, this is a good fuckin stuff... it looks totally unplanned and man, thats where the best music comes from!!!
Hey, when i said pretty good on the other one i didnt mean "bad" i meant good, i just said pretty good cuz i couldnt hear some stuff, and my dad is in a kiss tribute band and he says he tinks you personally are really good, and he would know......he wants me to put the link...dang, www.thekisstribute.com
I love it because they dont have to look all flashy, they can stand thier and play their asses off with out all the headbanging and sound freaking awesome.
to fast.

Steve Miller plays his guitar a Step down, so the song is in F, but He plays it as if its in G. Either way, this is a really good cover.

im not dissin the les its just that
the strat is so much stronger than a les paul,
i mean les paul's were ment to be rhythm guitars and strats are better suited as lead i mean you can hear the diffrence its liek slash vs hendrix or clapton(blues breaker days) to buddy guy the strat is just a over all stronger instrument
XDmoves 3 years ago
it really isnt it depends on the person playing it the type of music and the effects and distortion they have on it
