OS X - Good for design and has a FEW viruses. If you are a artist get this.
Windows - Good for just working and gaming (as long as you have anti virus and stuff). If you are not an artist and want to have everything work (for the most part, and you aren't stupid) get this.
Linux - Good for everything else. Not as good for design as OS X or gaming for Windows (there are Decent alternatives though.). If you like tinkering around with a computer or even want to know how to, Linux is for you.

I think is sad how people always mention how missing game compatibility is a negative point of Linux.. I mean, the games we're talking about were especially produced for Windows because that's what the mainstream uses. @jayr809 Usually new pcs come with hidden allocation space before the primary partition, just make sure you don't delete that...and then you can use your windows recovery dvd to bring the computer back to factory defaults. To be on the safe side, I would also backup your windows partition using DriveImage XML so then you can restore it back if needed.

@broederjacobs I totally agree with you, and Linux is indeed only the kernel, we should talk about GNU/Linux, however, since this video is (in my opinion) made for everyone who doesn't even know what "Windows" is (basically everyone ... ). Linux is actually just the kernel. However, the name is also used to refer to the family of operating systems wich make use of the kernel. However much Fedora, Ubuntu, Mint, Debian, CentOS, ... may look like each other, they're still seperate operating systems, using the same kernel and sometimes the same desktop environment (wich makes them about the same in way of working and looks).

Is he pronouncing "Linux" correctly? Idk anything about this other than I just read that Linus Torvalds is the inventor, and I doubt he pronounces his name "lin-iss" rather than "ly-nis". Whenever ive read the word "Linux" ive presumed it was pronounced "ly-nucks". Of course, I dont know anything about this.

You can tell he doesn't know about Linux, and computers in general. This guy makes my head hurt. "Kinda doesn't run any games unless you use wine, which is emulation for linux. It's not worth it".
WINE is not an emulator. Also, most games run on linux now. WoW, Left4Dead, CallofDuty, check out winehq.com

I think is sad how people always mention how missing game compatibility is a negative point of Linux.. I mean, the games we're talking about were especially produced for Windows because that's what the mainstream uses. It's like saying "Well, a Wii is pretty good and fun, but, you won't be able to play PS3 games on it, sadly they are not supported by Wii"

@jayr809 Usually new pcs come with hidden allocation space before the primary partition, just make sure you don't delete that...and then you can use your windows recovery dvd to bring the computer back to factory defaults. To be on the safe side, I would also backup your windows partition using DriveImage XML so then you can restore it back if needed.

I always explain that a os is: A computer is stupid. It cant do anything. Now you got all these devices in your computer. To let them talk to you and internally. For that you need some storytelling to let everybody (device or the person) talk with everybody. Now this has to be bound to rules. This rulebook is the os. On this you run software these are the tools you need to accomplish a specific task. kinda. It is so hard to explain something you completely understand:S Wikipedia it would be easy

@HungryGuyStories None KDE is just more for people that like small Gadgets & Widget. I do care for it. Ubuntu however is dropping GNOME and Xorg both , and switching to Unity and it sucks bad.

Linux has very few fps game, but there are a few I know of, Doom series, quake series, and an fps shooter game that I have forgotten the name of.
Linux is good because One time I accidentally went over my windows ntfs 256 folder depth limit. and used linux to remove the windows-broke folder =D.

Loads of free Linux games and lots of Windows games play very well on Linux. There is tons of free software from all categories... Many people use Linux and windows on the same machine using Virtualbox ... lots of people out there to help you and the very best computer techs also know Linux. Good overall video.

@broederjacobs I totally agree with you, and Linux is indeed only the kernel, we should talk about GNU/Linux, however, since this video is (in my opinion) made for everyone who doesn't even know what "Windows" is (basically everyone ... ). This guy is trying to explain to people who only use their computer only to check their mail and stuff like that what an operating system is and what "Linux" is, which is kind of tricky...

WRONG.
Linux is actually just the kernel. However, the name is also used to refer to the family of operating systems wich make use of the kernel. However much Fedora, Ubuntu, Mint, Debian, CentOS, ... may look like each other, they're still seperate operating systems, using the same kernel and sometimes the same desktop environment (wich makes them about the same in way of working and looks).
And indeed most distro's now (Ubuntu for example) are GNU/Linux distro's.
