They are all wonderful , but MJ just has so much charisma , he is always the center of attn ..It was an amazing performance, remember seeing it when it was first on tv and everybody jumped out of their chairs applauding ..This man was a real gift as a singer , dancer and best of all a teacher, he just had so much to share with the world..A huge loss for all of us..
@CAROLYNMARIE18 Of course he was fantastic as a solo artist but I always enjoy watching Michael perform with his brothers too. Wish we were watching him in person instead of just a video.
Motown 25!!! Great Choice! When he did the Moon Walk back then it gave me goosebumps and my mouth dropped open, I thought, I've got to see that again and then he did it again!!... I think everyone's hairs were standing on end!!! Like a bolt of Electricity going through your veins!! Everybody was talking about it!
@VisionofLoveandPeace Yes I remember this as being one of the main items on the news on TV. It is perhaps hard for people not around then to realise the stunning effect it had.
@kindofblue21 Yes you are so very right! At the time that we saw it, we didn't know what it was! There wasn't a name for it...We just thought he was walking on air!!! I'm not sure how the name "Moon Walk" was developed. I just remember how happy I was for him! I knew at that point that he really was going to make it on his own and I knew that there was way more to come!!!
I'm think I"m trying to say that in the J5 he seemed more relaxed to be himself. As "Michael Jackson" it seemed he felt he needed to create a "personna". Also the sudden fame made him go more inward from all the media attention and later negative attention.
@8mycrab That's just how I feel about it. And I think he became surrounded by people who just wanted a piece of him but didn't have his best interests at heart. But that was yet to come, on this night he had the world at his feet.
That STILL gives me goosebumps! I was working during the actual airing and heard about it the next day. They re-ran his moonwalk on some program that week and I was finally able to see it. I agree, it shot him into superstardom but (this is my perception) it started a change in him. During the Grammys, I kept saying to Michael (the tv, lol), "Take those damn sunglasses off!". He was perfectly fine (and handsome) without them accepting for Off The Wall, now he's wearing shades? Grrrrr.
Michael Jackson was always in His singing and His dancing, He put all He had into it.

@lovetommezz He was so shy and modest and yet the minute he walks on stage you can't take your eyes off him. An incredible talent and a lovely man.
