@zuzul It's called The Cat Who Lived a Million Times, I think. Children's fairytale. I googled it - it was either written in '77 by Sano Yoko, or Hyakumankai Ikita Neko. Google search the first lines and you can find the full story (it's not too long).

Spike dies at the end, no doubt about that. the cat in the story is spike.

everything has to come to an end and i respect that. if cowboy bebop was like naruto and bleach everybody would have lost the interest and that wouldnt have been fair.

Series ended at a high note and will always be remembered as one of the greatest.

@iluhhsyou The series creator never really says one way or the other - Spike managed to survive his injuries after fighting Vicious in "Ballad of the Fallen Angels." That being said, after Julia dies Spike's whole reason for surviving was gone.....Julia and Vicious were the only ones who could "wake him up." I think Spike probably "cashed in his chips" after losing Julia and his final fight with Vicious.....no way of knowing. Brillian how they left that one unanswered.
