  • were can you get a doberman if you are in lousiana

  • thank you a lot you really helped me with my dog

  • cool men its the last i video i watched and i think your the best friend of all the dogs and its nice keep the good job

  • thanks man!

  • Im going to have to show my husband this video beacuse he's always hitting our doberman evertime he does something wrong, and it pisses me off. Great video.

  • Dude I love Doberman Pinchers I really really do and I want to get one but there's this theory that they go crazy after a some years I think they say that they go crazy after 7 years

    so is it true??

  • @AchillesMetalManiac No its probably just a rumor my dad use to own a doberman and she was the sweetest thing believe me I have heard the same thing about dalmatians that they go crazy at the same age not true what you need to do is find a good breeder or rescue, get all info as you can, then decide which doberman is right for you, when you get one start his or hers training early socialize them and obediance train them.

  • @Katy7321 hahaha i have owned Doberman's all my life lady, I have 5 of them freely running on my 300 acres of land, and I don't humanize them like people like you, i suggest you research about them, the Germans breed them for the purpose to guard and to herd. you don't know shit.

  • im planning to get a dober for xmas, thinking of getting 2 month old, you got any pointer for me for what to do and what not to do with? i just want it to be a pet nothing like a guard or stuff bad, just want a good looking to go jogging with me in the morning,

  • my doberman is freakingly huge and has huge paws too...she is very active like jumping around hopping on people and run around like a mad dog...is there any way that can train her to be like obedient??

  • yes u r realy the best traininer i have ever here ,,,,, thanks lot

    From :KUWAIT

  • these are naturally guard dogs , if you want a friendly pet get a damn chihuahua, or a lab , or a golden retriever . hate when people ruin the breed. if you live in an area with lots of kids don't get this dog, this dog is for rural states, or countries.

  • @Salvatronication....... I have 3 chihuahuas and they are actually more aggressive than my 5 Dobies(unless told)...lol...I trained a chihuahua to attack...funniest thing. People dont expect a chihuahua being a guard dog.true though if my dobes wanted to they could EAT my lil 3 lb chihuahuas.

  • @thedobiegirl2000 not to be rude but I can kick the shit of a chihuahua if it tries to attack me the end, but I wouldn't because I love dogs, but the point is doberman's are where breeded specially for guarding, sure they can be trained to be nice to people, but that ruins the breed, because they are meant for guarding farms, and they need lots and lots of acres to run, that is why dobes get bored easily.

  • @Salvatronication You are terribly ignorant. A person could never take the natural guard instincts out of a doberman let alone an entire breed just because they socialize the dog. A dog that is vicious toward all people just because it is a guard dog is an unhealthy dog with a terrible owner. A dog needs to know when to guard and when to relax. The owner needs to have that control over their dog. Dobermans are an intelligent breed capable of guarding and being social. you're just ignorant.

  • @MaryChristine81 OOOh Bravoooo !! fuck your super intelligent , you are the type of people who make these breeds suffer by not letting them be a normal fucking dog, like I said before a Doberman is meant for large rural areas, I never teach my Doberman's to be aggressive, they are naturally guard dogs, sure you can domesticate them inside your home, but it's there natural instinct, if they feel threatened these types of dogs will attack, I suggest you stick with your Chihuahuas haha!

  • @Salvatronication lol! You are contradicting yourself. You are stating my case... YOU CAN'T TAKE THE NATURAL GUARD DOG OUT OF THE DOG JUST BECAUSE THEY ARE SOCIALIZED. You are a real doofus.

  • Comment removed

  • @MaryChristine81 a socialized dog does not attack .. that means it make a friendly dog towards anyone, if you socialize your dobe with people you are not gonna have a guard dog, like I said before get a chihuahua instead.

  • @Salvatronication Get mad all you want. Guess what! There are a lot more people in this world like me who do socialize the doberman! I already am breeding her and giving the pups to new dog owners whom I will tell to socialize the pups at a very young age! There's nothing you can do about it. LOL!!! No chihuahuas for me. I don't care much for the breed. I love my friendly non-biting dobi! Although she probably would bite your face off if I told her to. I'm going to go ruin the breed now. Peace!

  • Comment removed

  • @Salvatronication 100% wrong, they were never meant for guarding property. They were bred for PERSONAL PROTECTION, not guarding a farm, livestock, etc. They were also bred to be extremely loyal, and calm, unless a reason arose for them to go into action. YOU are ruining the breed, not the people that actually train their dogs.

  • @Salvatronication Again, you are ignorant. It is a fact that more people get bitten by golden retrievers than pit bulls. I have a golden and a doberman. My golden has more temper issues over toys and treats than my doberman. That doesn't mean my doberman doesn't guard the house. The doberman breed is intelligent and can differ from a threat and a non threat. You're just a meat head who sees this breed as one dimensional. not capable of knowing when and when not to guard.

  • 1st thing he says, social interaction. Without a doubt the 1st thing to teach your Dobie. & don't worry, it won't change his/her guard instinct.

  • how long does it take to train them?

  • is it possible to socialize a dobie thats 2 years old. A lot of websites say its only puppies that are socialized easiest. but its possible right"?

  • @daryl152 WHat I did with an older dobe I adopted was take her every day to the dog run with a cage muzzle. SHe was very aggessive with the other dogs but was unable to bite. Within a week she clamed down and played with all of the dogs and on the 3 week I removed the muzzle and had one incident where the playing got a bit out of hand and could have led to a full out fight, I called her in and havnt had a prob since till the day she passed.

  • Do Doberman's shed a lot? I'm trying to find a protective dog that doesn't shed much. And if I train one with food in my hand, I'm afraid it would bite it from me. Probably not true right?

  • @arenaskies

They do not shed alot, but if you are scared you'll be fearfull of one, do not get one. They need a strong expecrienced handler and somone they can't just run over. Because trust me, if he/she sences that you are fearing him/her, that dog will most likely take over your home

  • hey i just bought my doberman hes 2 months old when ever i take him for a walk he doesnt come or follow me even a small tug he wont move plus when he is outside he is always shaking his leg like its not strong does anybody know what to do!!!

  • @krishkid

It's totelly normal that they shake when they are that small, usually its because they are used to really hot tempratures when they would snuggle with their mom and siblings. My dogs used to shake alot when they where small, and when they where sleeping the first months. About the walking, he's probably abit scared still so let him explore abit on his own, bring some food for encouragement! He should not go for very long walks untill he's about 7-9months old due to the HD risks

  • i subbed also got the free swag... thanks Eric!

  • Darn good advice. :) His description fits my Dobie perfectly. I trained him using positive techniques and it worked, FAST. Dobies are quick learners and really fun to work with. There are some vids of my big boy on my channel if anyone is interested. We are starting agility in a couple weeks and will be posting vids of our progress there as well. Please research this breed before you get one... and any breed for that matter!

  • Your site says that the article isn't available... How can I get ahold of your training manual?

  • It is all set. Thank you for notifying me.

    Thanks again,

    Eric

  • ok, so i want to get a doberman pinscher.. starting as a puppy. i live in new york. any none know the best place i can get one ass a puppy at a good price?

  • look on the internet

  • well, good luck with all your doberman training, i have THEE most stubborn girl i have ever met on four legs

  • a dog's behavior is reaction to the owner's treatment... im sure you treat your dog the best way possible, but we are never too good to get an outsider's perspective... i strongly believe that no matter what breed, each dog has it's own characteristics, and it's never too late to fix something... forgive me if I'm wrong

  • ive only had her nearly a year and shes 3, shes too pampered, so i know its my fault, but her previous owners were quite bad to her, but im trying!!

  • there's great videos out there on training dogs, also there's that show on animal planet, "its me or the dog" which sometimes show many things that we never realized would make a difference in the dogs life... plus if you have a dobie, than you probably have the easiest dog to train you could get... and if you dont like her, i'll take her, i love dobies hehehe

  • cheers for the advice and i'll certainly keep you in mind should she needs to go, alot of things are common sense are'nt they? dobes are great they're little comedians, mine has me in stitches!

  • to the person with concerns about training a dobe. make sure yo get lots of stuff for him to chew on. mine chews like crazy but so far hasnt chewed up anything that hes not supposed to.

  • @jleebesaw did u train the dog like the second day, and like everyday? i gonna buy a dobermann in like a month when i move to thailand(phuket). how long does it take to learn the dog? like an hour for a commando ?

  • dobie's are the best dogs for training, they pick things up easily and fast, but they're always going to be dogs; just be patient and love your dog, he will be trained in no time

  • i have a great little doberman pup that i just got about three weeks ago. he is red colored. he is so smart, its hard to believe how quickly he learns things. 13 weeks old now and pretty much mastered his basic commands already. he is house trained but not completly reliable yet. amazing dog!!!

  • im going buy one soon

  • Every Doberman deserves a person, however not every person Deserves a Doberman. I even get stopped on the street and asked if I want to breed my Dobie (No, I don't).

  • You are sooo right!

  • There are over 150 pure breed dogs listed by the AKC The Doberman is listed in the Top 5 smartest. Go Dobes!!!

  • There are essentially 5 groups that do the rating. One group rates the dobe in the top 5 most trainable dogs. The other 4 groups tate the Dobe as the #1 most trainable dog. The problem is, they aren't dogs! Ask ANY Dobe or their owner/ownee... they know what I mean!

  • Hi Eric

I'm going to be moving to Toronto for many reasons later this year and one of those reasons is that the tenant act there is less biased towards pet owners. So I'm looking to pick up a doberman puppy but I'm not too sure on how much space is too little for a dog that size. I was wondering if you think that an 850 square foot space (it's a loft so it's just one big room) is large enough for a doberman to live comfortably in, or if it might be too small.

  • yeah but dont isolate it too much to where it 'll get pissd at u too lol

  • You don't need to train your Dobermann to guard, they naturally do it... I would socialize your Dobermann for you safety and his/hers. Dobeamanns are an intimidating breed, and are very loyal... you need to train your dog to be nice to other people and animals so that it does not get you into legal trouble. Dogs who feel safe and are adequately trained and socialized pose less of a threat to you physically and legally. If you train your dog well it will look out for you... but be safe.

  • hi im gonna get a dobermann in a few months but the problem is that I never had my own dog that means i have no experience. is 2- 3 hours enough to spend time with my coming dobermann to train his body and mind to be a good family dog. cause I dont wanna be outside all day for the dog. I dont have any intrest in competition and other things dog ppl like, I just want it as a family dog but stil train it so the dog feels good in the mind and all. i have read alot about dobermann.

  • Great choice of a dog if you have the time and willingness to train and socialize (2-3 hours to begin with is plenty; you will need less later). Give your dog plenty of exercise, do not over-feed, love her/him and you will have a magnificent, loyal friend for life. I have one and had two before this one. Females are more devoted to you and easier to train. "Once a doberman owner, always a doberman owner". I had other kinds of dogs before, but for me this is a top dog. Good luck!

  • thanks for your mail

I understand that the first month is alot of work spec for me that never had a dog before ( never been an owner) So im gonna buy in 2 months or from another kennel in mars month. But I never seen one os this kind in action I mean with my own eyes, i see them only on internet and tv never in my own town not many ppl has the I wonder why?

  • anyway but the thing is I dont wanna be outside alll day I wanna a true friend but It needs work and I have to think it over do I really wanna do all these for a dog. All that time you have to go outside in the morning and train it and spend time its alot of work I might say, thats why those kennel here never sell to ppl who just want it as a friend thay want you to train it even more for competition and all.

  • I asked the kennel if the dog is good in guarding and as always the doglovers get little upset and say " if you wanna get attacked by a man in the park go to karate course" I dont like that talk if a dobermann doesnt protect his owner than what a waste of having a dobermann who doesnt care? So I said it to the kennel=)

  • Dobermans, generally speaking, have great respect for humans, but in case of danger to the owner or owner's property, they will most likely defend it better then any other dog I know of. A dobe has 700 lbs of pressure in his/her jaws and a perfect scissor bite but you do not want your doberman to be a man killer. Just having one at your side is enough for most people to think twice before attacking you! Most bad guys are also cowards and will, most likely, go for an easier victim.

  • Very nice! is it true that dobermann has the srongest "bite" of all dogs? I heard that a few times stil dont believe it cause maybe you ppl forogot the rottweiler? search on youtube dogs 101 rottweiler they will say that the rottweiler has the strongest bite ever of all dogs its like the ultimate machine perfect to guarding and all. I think dobermann is very nice and special cause all ppl got rottweiler in every block in this town. But you dont see a dobermann here thou.

  • I dont know anything about dogs but I say a dobermann hasnt got a chance against a rottweiler. Maybe I should lock aroung about that biting issie, I mean every movie and youtube I see it shows that dobermann is a small dog, and when i see a rotweiler i just wanna shit on myself. I have thought about dobermann for at least 6 months now. I stil have doubts cause I dont wanna have a dog who demands too much from me...but hey you live only once!=) Im about 80% sure that i wanna buy one

  • but 20% of ppl i meet on internet tells me to think over it again, that means 80% are convincing me to buy one, help me god what should I do take a chance?=) I appreciate your answers reginaorlosky! very good information

  • Oh... one more thing to remember. If you want your dog to fight, my advice is not for you. Dogs, like human beings, should be civilized and respectful. Once you teach your dog that, you can be proud and totally happy dog owner! Too many people are very irresponsible dog owners and it is a pity.

  • No no not fighting spec with other digs Im not looking for that in my ownership with dogs. But what other ppl do with their own dogs is not of my business. I will love my dog as my own son and gently treat it but I demands a few things from my puppie/dog I demand that it guard me and my family if the hosue start to burn or a man or a woman=9 breaks into my house I demand that the dog is protective if not then I have a big problem and have to get rid of it.

  • I even want my dog to sleep in my own bed most owners doesnt like it and they start when the puppie is young to let it sleep on the floor otherwise it gets used to the bed me I dont see that as a problem I want it ont he bed with me. I would love my dobermann but I demand loyality and a dog who has harmoni and loves me back nothing more. Its the perfect dog for me and I wanted a rottweiler before and they are perfect too but a dobermann fits my personality alot more!=)

  • Comment removed

  • I do not know about the strongest bite, but I do know that dobes are way ahead of rottweiler on the intelligence list. It is strength, loyalty, and intelligence that makes a dobe such a useful companion. Also, dobermans, as a rule, are much more trainable. We had three - all great working dogs, the third one is the best... or perhaps we became better dog trainers! A doberman is regarded a royalty amongst dogs by many experts . One more thing... a great dobe deserves a good owner!

  • excellent. Thanks some ppl say that all dobbes arent like eachother thats why some kennels try methods on the puppies when they are 7 weeks to see if they are family dogs or more kinda of a "not for a none expirience ppl whom wants to have it as a first dog" And some kennels dont believe in those methods, I should expect that the dobermann I wanna buy is a the one who demands from his owner and I need the time to shape it as a family dog.

  • I heard from one kennel that I shouldnt choose by sitting infront the litter and choose one puppie cause puppies may have diffrent behavoiur when they have their siblings in company. That I should move the puppie from the litter and play and talk to it and see how it follows me and plays with me, and if doesnt have intrest of me and doesnt wanna play and follow me that means this is a dog that needs expirience from his owner and want to explore the world by itself

  • I stil get mails from youtube that veruy little ppl warns me that the dobermann is demanding alot of money and alot of time from his owner and these dogs demand alot! that scares me. reginaorlosky you said you had 3 dobbes none male? cause male is the one Im gonna buy and they are little bit more difficulter I heard but not impossible to shape just little bit more time and willing.

  • I suggest you read a book about dobermans first. Your dobe will be only as good as you raise and train him.

  • thats the bad part in sweden I cannot find any books (good one) even the dobermann club says damn there isnt any books in swedish I should move to us there is everything

  • if you can read english, then there's a good chance you will find online books...

  • Thanks, but Im gonna wait before I buy a dobermann, to buy a dobermann I need a big house and some space I can have it on, otherwise its too much job,

  • If you would like to see ours in action, please watch our video "Doberman Chasing a Laser Pointer". Dobermans are also tons of FUN!

  • there's plenty of videos I dont know which one is yours? can you be more clear.

  • Just type: Doberman Chasing a Laser Pointer. The video will show a dobe on a stairway (kind of orangy looking, since it was shot under the artificial light). The dobe's name is Angelina Jolie, "Jolie" for short. We can't have enough of this dog -- no way to get depressed around her.

  • My cat chases the laser light, but my Dobe sees it, and walks over to the laser itself, as if to say "ya can't fool me; I know where the light comes from!"

  • hi i read your comment and its obviously you have doberman, i have one question..

im going to get 2 dobermans in 2 months female and male and i also have a lab, these dogs are going to be friends? I mean if they are going not going to fight my lab is1 year 2 months i love my lab as my child and i also will love my dobermans as my children.. there is not going to be fights right??

  • Dobermans are extremely easy to train, but sometimes could be somewhat stubborn as well. If you get your dobes as puppies, you can raise them to be friendly and attentive. Watch the pups before you buy. They should be playful, alert, but not aggressive. I do not have much experience with males, but if they grow up to be too sharp, you can neuter them. Jolie plays wonderfully with the next door male lab and other dogs as well. Remember to socialize them a lot . Good luck!

  • a amle and female dobe will usually get along. 2 females will get along, after they decide who is boss. 2 intact males will NEVER get along. As fot the lab, depends on the gender of the lab. If the Dobes are puppies, you should be okay if you know what you are doing, although I bought a 2 1/2 month old Dobe that hopped out of the car when I took it home the 1st time, and it challenged my 2 year old dobe within 5 seconds after arriving!

  • thanks and im going to get 2 dobe puppies the lab is older 1 year 2 months but my lab is friendly, plays all day and with all dogs (its male) and i think if i raise the dobes as i did with my lab there is not going to be any trouble.. thanks...

  • just hope you get a showdog, no leistungszucht

  • I didnt understand this comment, damn I can buy this breed during summer vinter or even today, always available. I maybe buy jan or march. I saw a girl today run with her erman sheperd. Im gonna do same with mine if I get one, but the thing is a dog demands alot! and a dobermann even more so Im thinking do i want to do all that? I mean go out with it and spend time even If i dont want to, its alot of work dude=)

  • @KatelynGrace1414

Very true. People often think that if they're pup/dog is social with others it will mean they will welcome people that are not welcome in their house. Remember these dogs are 'den' dogs & learn by how they act in the 'den' (or your house etc). They will not be to pleased with someone trying to enter the 'den' when unwanted. & still, you can walk then around like they are complete pussy cats! Amazing breed & pleasure to have in our family.

  • @Daized2009 I learned the hard way...my 1 year old dobie who had been "socialized" from day 1, we had parties, kids ages 2 to 10 were always around the house. Then one day at a birthday party, my dobie had free range in the yard and a lady came to the party, grabbed under his chin, looked him directly in the eyes and she gave him a pat on the head. He walked away but then 20 sec later when she was walking into the garage, without warning, bit her on the elbow.

  • @jkiene

Yes it can happen (can be for various reasons) but in my experience very rare. Having said that I would not let my Dobie out in a party situation or similar unless he was under my close attention. New high pitched sounds etc will always make them anxious. Hope he's ok tho (I'm sure the ladys elbow was ok ;)

  • @KatelynGrace1414 Some training is good, but it's all about how people treat the dogs. END OF STORY

  • awesome vid i have my first doberman puppy im so excited about him so far he has been an amazing dog

  • i gettin a new dobe i cant wait

  • well, honestly i prefer doberman because it is aggressive. Back home where i live there are tons of thieves, and my dobe just keeps them off our land, does what it is suppose to do. protects the house and the family. nothing comes to the house without our knowing, not even a freaking bird haha

  • That's right, but if I allow someone in so should they.I have 8 in the house right now,2 adults and 6 pups, one of the pups is 3 mo and has taken to obiediance training like nobodies business.

  • you're right, dobermans are great dogs!

  • I can't wait til I get my First Dobe Wonder how they'll get along with Labs??? G/F has 2 Black Labs

  • dude your good, what it all comes down to is you ha,you have to be in charge. Ive been around a bunch of dobies and they love other dogs, rotties, german shepards, labs, pitublls, the list goes on. You'll be fine!

  • you should keep her a bit near those things she's scared of and try to show her that she's safe with you

  • I have a Doberman. She is 3 but is very scared of people, cars and noises. She does'nt like some dogs. I bought her for $125(very cheap) and I believe she was abused when she was young. She wont go near brooms and some other things. But she is my baby. I need advice!

  • i have the same problem , mine is a boy and he is only 3 months

  • haha well i think im a bit late on replying, although you still have time on helping out your dog. Yeah the bottom line is you should get her near those things that she is scared of. But first you should be in control, or be the "pack leader" so to speak. the dog should be able to trust you and follow your lead, then you can help her over come the fear..

  • I agree totally!

  • I agree very much with "kilroywashere123 " my 2 cents on the same topic...all breeds need tons of training especially working breeds. One things I actually have to disagree with what the dog man says about what dobes were bread for. I believe it depends on if you buy fro a working dog breeder or a show breeder. Show people have made the doberman VERY soft and washed out. often with generations never seeing anything but the inside of a show ring. Many dobes now-a-days are labs in dobe suits.

  • Doberman's out rank rotties in guading and were Originaly bread to guard.

  • Here Here!!! Great advice!

  • cool,i would like to do that

  • why do people want EVERY dog to be this friendly get-along-with-every-stranger-they-meet type dog. if you want a friendly dog then leave guard dogs alone and get a friendly dog, like labs, poodles, great danes, etc.

  • Great info, but really, everything you said applies to any dog, not just Dobermans. I've met some pretty nasty dogs at the dog park that simply nasty..not because of the breed, but because, as you stated, they need socialization. I wish people would listen to veterinarians and animal behaviorists. It is not a breed issue. It is really a people issue (how do they raise the dog?)

  • the doberman , number 5 in intelligence, number one in obedience training, one of the best guard dogs ( hyper, so fast , faster then a gsd or a rotty), and a well built dog...

so affectionate, so loyal , his life is to save hi owner, but the thing is media, it made that breed go back.

here in lebanon they think dobermans attack their owners when they get old, well i dont agree but the thing is that this magestic breed is no more popular :( damn

  • man can u send me info on dobs i might have to get rid of mine heis too outa control

  • you are a smart man, dobes are the best dogs in the world

  • The only reason Dobies have ANY reputation for aggression is hype and media. ANYONE that has one knows they are probably the best dogs you could own, around children or anyone. The only nervous people are ones that watched too many movies!

  • I have a 13 month doberman. He knows how to sit, lay down, stay, come, and play dead. We live in the country however, and he doesn't see lots of people, so when visitors come over, he jumps up on them any ingnores the comands. Any tips? Another promblem, is getting him to come to me when he is outside? Thanks!

  • I volunteer at a dog rescue and I've noticed that some are really shy. Been there for quite a while now so they come happily to sniff me on my face, lick me, jump on me, pat them. But that's it. They do let some people walk them - they adore those people.

Advice with dogs like them? Is there a quick way to earn their trust? The best way? They are not my dogs, I see them 5 times a week. If you take the time to answer this, it would really be appreciated! But of course if you can't, that is fine!

  • It all depends on the dog, some dogs will bond a little faster than others. It all depends on the dog's past. A fastest way to bond with a dog is through food. Hand feed the dog, play with them, take the dog for walks are all good ways to develop the bond. Hope this helps!

  • I'm gonna have a dog.Tell me which is better, american stafford or doberman pincher?

  • "im gonna have a dog"....

How many months along are you?

  • I ' m alone for two years.

  • get the doberman .. they are very easy to train and are 4th most inteligent dog in the world ..super loyal too .. need a bit of showing whos boss tho as a pup .. hope this helps

  • do you know what the most intelligent dog is ?

  • border colie

  • most intelligent usually mean you REALLY have to keep it trained and mentally simulated. A lot of people fall for Border collies' intelligence but don't realize that high intelligence means that they get bored easily and understand things must faster than you think.

  • Yeah, The doberman, German Shepherd, Border collie and the Weinhamer. (I dont khow how to spell the last dog, but its close, its a medium sized gray dog)

  • Doberman's ate smarter than GSD and 5th smartest breed.

  • elentere are you that man on the video in this comment I mean on the screen? I would like to have a little bit of information from you as well about the dobermann pincher I never had dog before and Im gonna buy one dobermann puppie ina few months can you send me your mail or something?

  • Can you do a video on how to train a yorkie terrier? =]

  • I will. It will be ready in a day or two.

    Thanks,

    Eric

  • Oh right! It's Allready there! Thanks!

  • Hi, i was wondering, could you possably do How to train a Cocker Spaniel?
