  • Mine's just a youngster at 387,000. Unfortunately, the rust of the NE has just about taken it.

  • one small leap for festiva, one giant leap for ford-kind

  • Just got a pristine 88 with 171K miles. I hope it lasts me as long as yours.

  • so you did more than an 1/8th of a mile at 60 mph in less than 12 seconds? not possible, your counter is reading fast.

  • @boostedwolfie actually at 60mph you do a 1 mile/minute. So 1/2 mile in 30 seconds, 1/4 mile in 15 seconds, 1/8th mile in 7.5 seconds.... actually sir your math is wrong.

  • 0:12

    Congratulations.

  • Wow...its amazing you have standed a Festiva for 500k miles.

  • you suck, lol im only at 343,000 on my 94 cavalier, i would love it if i make it to 400k and so on.

  • Mine has almost 300000k , best car I have EVER owned, My jeep is second best but likes gas way too much.... you on the festiva forum?

  • @shayneyasinski Yep, I'm 5.0zone.

  • @50zone how many does it have now? past 600,000? make a video of the body?

  • @spartarools Pretty sure it does , I think there is 5 or 6 owners that are at 600,000 now .

  • " Son, you can get rid of this car once it dies happy birthday"

The fuckin thing wont die !

    :P

  • My little festiva b6t swapped ran 12.51 @ 113mph. Miss it.

  • You gotta love Fords!

  • Mine only has 36,000 miles on it, and my grandparents bought it in 1990.

  • I wouldn't want to be seen in that car for 500K.

  • search, jay leno's festiva

  • head's up!!!

At least u have now 6 times written 0!!!

  • Haha when u buy a car:

after 10 minutes driving: Damn 10 miles already!!!???

After 1 year: 15.000 miles!!! WTF!!!???

after 5 years: 75.000 miles!!! Already???!!!I hate this gauge!!!

After 20 years: 499.999 miles!!! WTF???!!! Already? That's too fast!!!

After 20 years, 2 minutes: 499.999 miles!!! When this f........ car gonna hit 500k???!!!

After 7 years, 2 minutes and 2 seconds: Stiil nothing!!! That's too slow!!!

  • nice you must have kept your oil changed thats the life of your engine there!! you went far enough to drive to the moon and back!! How many miles on it now? or when it broke down how many miles on it????

  • You mean you've had to tolerate that little piece of shit for half a million miles?

  • ill give you a package of ramen noodles for it

  • I have to say for a Ford Festiva, that is VERY impressive. 500,000 miles for ANY Ford vehicle is impressive, but a Festiva is kinda shocking.

  • @jriley1992 It's not shocking. I've seen 10 festivas with 500,000 miles. The average lifespan is 300,000.

  • americans didn't make that car THE KOREANS DO! it is manufactured from SOUTH KOREA

  • @haroldvideos The 1988 Ford Festiva was engineered by MAZDA with a MAZDA engine and assembled by Kia.

  • @Get908 in korea woznt it?

  • @Get908 doesnt ford own part of mazda cus my buddy has a mazda truck with a ford engine

  • Whoa! Did you see that?! A Festiva doing 65 MPH! Impressive!!

  • @Thilindel Stock festiva 5 speed top speed is 113 MPH. Radar certified by 3 different festivas.

  • @Thilindel ROFL NICE!!

  • wow man that's pretty cool you and that car have rolled a lot of miles together

  • I bet it took all of those 500,000 miles to reach 60! These and the Old Geo metro 1.0l are SLOW!

  • @Motorfordtoyota You obviously have never driven one...

  • @Motorfordtoyota hahahahaaha

  • @Motorfordtoyota that is a great comment

  • @Motorfordtoyota The festiva is not slow. It is normal. 0-60 is 10 seconds. Thje metro is slow 0-60 of 13 seconds. The metro has half the average lifespan of the festiva. 300,000 is the average lifespan of a festiva.

  • @neanderpaul Though I have never seen a Metro with 500k on the clock, 300k is not unheard of with well taken care of examples. Many go well north of 200k with few problems.

Not knocking the Festiva, it's an awesome car, but the Metro is quite a fantastic piece as well. Especially when MPG is involved: I often get 45+ on the highway with mine.

    Suzuki G10, represent! lol

  • @SPQRImperator 300k is great! 200K is the beginning of respectable or getting your moneys worth. The thing about festivas is they will go 300k on average without being well taken care of. The well taken care of festivas are the ones with 500k. Since my last 500K comment I've found 2 more with 500k. And festivas can get 53 mpg. the metro beats the festy there by about 5 mpg. Which is significant.0-60 though the festy beats the metro by about 3 seconds.Metros are for buying fixing and selling! lol

  • @neanderpaul Agreed.

Nice examples of both (w/manual gearboxes, low miles) are flying off craigslist right now, just as they did back in 2008 when gas was hitting $5/gallon here in the U.S.

I bought my '94 Metro for $1300 back when gas was only $1.30-ish here back in late 2009. Only had 112k miles on it (5-speed, natch), and only just passed 117k last month.

It still runs loike new, and I'm either going to sell it for close to $3k when gas hits $5/gal again, or I'll drive it into the ground.

  • @SPQRImperator LOL! I have an escort on ebay right now! And I have a festiva with a boat load of new parts that is chomping at the bit to hit ebay when gas hits 4.50! You SCORED at that price!!

  • @neanderpaul Yep. Buy low, sell high!

I have two friends with cash in hand that have told me: "If you ever sell it, I want first dibs. I'll give you $2,000."

I want a bit more than that, but yes, these cars are now, once again, a psuedo status symbol in the post $3/gallon world. I stand to profit from it handsomely in a few months I suspect.

But again, mad props to the Mazda 131/Ford Festiva/Kia Pride. That is a damned fine automobile.

  • Built in a kia plant... with mazda b3 engines and ford emblems are these amazingly fun cars.. that you can mod to run 12's in the quarter for less than 2 grand so by no means are these cars pieces of crap.. FESTIVA FTW!!!!......id take a 91 festiva with a bp swap anyday.over any honda, mitsu toyota, nissan ,ect... oh and as far as bigger motors... the chevy vortech 4.3 ftw....friends has over 300,000 and it runs like it was bouight yesterday

  • Built in a kia plant... with mazda b3 engines and ford emblems are these amazingly fun cars.. that you can mod to run 12's in the quarter for less than 2 grand so by no means are these cars pieces of crap.. • 2 more 1000 000 miles and shell need a service

  • omg! how? those engines are so slow you have to floor them everywhere. how did it not explode

  • @10yroldcarlover You obviously don't know much about these cars. They may not be quick, but they're adequate. And built very well.

  • @acadianfever i thought they had the soame motor as the tempo/topaz

    4 cyl

  • @10yroldcarlover Not slow at all. Normal. 0-60 in 10 seconds. same as my Honda Element.

  • @neanderpaul honda elements are slow

  • @10yroldcarlover Nope. Elements are normal. WRX @ 5 is fast. CRX SI @ 8 is quick. Festivas, Elements and lots of other cars @ 10 are normal. Metros, troopers, diesel 80's Mercedes etc @ 13-15 are slow. Festivas stock are not slow. Modded they kill. FAST! search festiva GTO to see.

  • god i love these little cars. I had one when i was a small child and hen one day we were driving home and the front axel just shedded itself and popped off lol. maybe someday il get to visit the farm that my parents brought it to

  • @youngbleeb, While Ford and Mazda have both shared tech. over the years, many of the Ford products are FORD products. The 3.5 Duratech V6 in the Edge is all Ford engineering. The 3.7 Duratech the the Lincoln MKS, Mazda CX9, etc. is all FORD. While the chassis of the Ford Fusion is mostly Mazda engineered, the powertrain is all FORD in the V6 models. I am a Ford Service Manager, I know these things. Ask me which carmaker(GM) built such junk for years and years that they lost all marketshare.

  • My parents owned a 1994 Kia Pride (Ford Festiva) in Korea. It was a good little car, it kept running, and all they did was change the oil. Must of had over 200,000 miles on it.

  • im suprised its still workin. and what is 500 000 miles in kilometers?

  • @colj001 , you're surprised but I'm not because I've seen 8 festivas with over 500,000 miles. I've seen dozens and dozens with over 300,000 miles. It's because festivas are bullet proof legends!! Festiva FTW again!

  • You are a god, not because the car made it to 500k...but because it made it to 500k, and ALL the miles are YOURS.

You are a fucking pimp. I have a mere 115k on my '94 geo Metor 3-cylinder 5 speed, and I'll be keeping it at least until 200k. She runs like a dream, almost like new. Oh, and i change the oil and filter every 1,000 miles. Tranny fluid will be changed every 5,000 (I've only had it for 9 months and less than 2,000 miles). I only use synthetic, and I don't dog the car.

  • That is sure not a high speed car! 75 MPH! I can beat that!

  • @MrCRAZYdonutsCAR The top speed on a stock festiva with a 5 speed is 113 mph. Radar certified 3 times by 3 different stock festivas.

  • and people trash those great cars

  • why is the 55 mile circled?

  • @Evansmustard they used to do that to car's in 80's cause usually the highway speed limit was 55 mph and that circle was just a reminder that that was the speed limit.

  • @losercust wow, ive been on highways with a speed limit of 70

  • That is cool! Festivas rock.

  • Then why this car is a Ford if the Kia constructed it.I don´t understand.lol

  • @LeXdebobbit because ford new they could not build a car thereself that was that good that's why they "only" have their "names" on them. But the car has a mazda engine and trans and a kia platform. :)

  • @kowalskideahl Thank you for the info, I respect Mazda, sadly I felt more proud of this to be a Ford cause this name means America, but that´s okay.

  • @kowalskideahl , close but it has a mazda engine, transmission, AND a mazda platform. Kia only assembled them.

  • i put a car in the demolition, grand marquis with 678900 km

  • This car is actually a KIA designed with a Mazda power plant. From Wikipedia - "Manufactured by Kia Motors, at the time partly owned by Ford, the Festiva used the Mazda DA platform and Mazda's B Series four-cylinder engines."

  • @komputerjeanyus Close but read the article again. Mazda designed it too. Kia only assembled it.

  • Ford BABY! Best american engines

  • @orimabu The car is nothing American you dumbass, do some research, it is a Kia platform with a Mazda engine and trans and shitty "ford" emblems, Nothing American can run that long, this fucking stupid ass careless dump of a country u.s.a. is too sorry to build a descent car to run that long, and the "only american car that I've ever seen run that long is a chevy chevette and that was probably because they have "ISUZU" engines in them so my point exactly. :)

  • @kowalskideahl Kian only assembled it. And yes a few other fords, true fords can last like this. the 300 straight 6 and the 4.6 have both been known too. Look up 1,000,000 mile econoline here on youtube.

  • man oh man its rare to see a car with an original engine hit 500,000miles! the only other ford vehicle i know that could do that is an 80's 4cyl mustang..

  • i miss my 86' festiva. forst car i owned i got it in 2002 with almost 200000 miles and it ran me for 4 years no problems.

  • @subournedrummer 88 was this first model year festiva sold.

  • Notice the 55 mph mark circled! Long time ago...

  • The Festiva was the best car sold by Ford dealers. It's a good car because it's not really a Ford, they were made for Ford by Kia in Korea.

  • My two favorite cars in the entire world aren't Ferrari's or Lambo's mine are,

80's Volvo 242 (hopefully in dark metallic green, or royal metallic blue)

    & 85-92 Ford Festiva!

  • @madjimms Festivas only ran in the US from 88-93

  • @neanderpaul Actually 1986–2000

    Manufacturer Mazda (1986–1991)

    Kia Motors (1986–2000)

    Also called Mazda 121

    Kia Pride

  • @madjimms Not in the US. 88-93 only in the US market.

  • @madjimms US 88-93. worldwide 87 to PRESENT.

  • amazing for a ford lol. is it still running?

  • My Festiva changed my life!

  • @MrCodyray1 Me too!

  • I'd say you got your money's worth from that lil car. Not many cars make it that long.

  • i got toyota tercel with 750000 mil

  • stiill turn

  • @KLM817 I've seen 10 festivas with 500,000 miles now. The average lifespan of a festiva is 300,000 miles. They are durable beasts.

  • i was expecting a BIG ENORMOUS EXPLOSION COMING FROM THE FIREWALL

  • and what would cause that? there's no power steering, no air con, no cruise control. i had a 93 had 300k when i sold it. no problems at all. just usual maintenance. oh and i got 50-60mpg highway all the time. most reliable car i've ever owned. worth all the 500 bucks i paid for it and that was a good 5 years ago when i got it.

  • Wow XD that is amazing, really The cars aitn the reliable ones its the Owner if u dont maintence then its not gana last.

  • point well taken

  • My parents always complaining that there cars are messing up, wen they do an oil change every year tsk tsk never maintence them or anything, i take care of my camaro cuz i took auto classes so i know whats up.

  • Agreed! PMCS should be done constantly! A vehicle should be taken care of and if it is no matter what make or model.. it will last!

  • lol you used to be in military havent ya...lol

  • I would like to see your Festiva. Is she still in good shape after tripping 500,000 miles?

  • @saiperus You might see it at festiva madness 4 on oct 2nd 2010 in Raleigh NC. It was at FM3 last year.

  • Wow, tell us how'd you do it? =D

  • @SilentDrifter03 He bought a festiva. That's all it takes.

  • lol @ speedo only going to 85

  • @bleakspeaks69 lol my 89 mustang has a speedo that reads only up to 89 but its top speed is 120

  • going 85 in a festiva is not a good idea lol. you feel like youre going to die haha.

  • well thats what happens when your top speed is 80 xD

  • Dam I thought my 70 monte with 333444 miles on it was a shit load

  • Nice mileage! Do you still drive this car?

  • new cars will never make so mutch KM.

thats why i luv cars from 90's and older.

  • it really depneds how you take care of the car. thats my opinion. many people dont take care of their cars and then blame it on the car.

  • My aunt had an accord and she never changed the oil and it died after about 4 or 5 years! I me or my dad always changes the oil on our cars, our odyssey is almost up to 200,000 miles!

  • @2010mustang1 yea, it most likely turned into sludge after a while and clogged the oil pump and every thing else in the engine. AKA engine seizure.

  • that is the circumference of saturn's rings :O

    ;)

  • nice man!

  • omg im about to go look at one to just play around in at the house and i thought it had a lot of miles on it but i guess not lol.

  • Is it still running now, it's been about two year now so I was just wondering? My dad has a Sadern with 460,000+ lol

  • WOW!

  • I have 93 - bought in 96 71,000 ($3,800 -impulse buy) thought paid 2 much - now 13 yrs later at 185,000 was a good price - tho may only go another 7 yrs an Uber Reliable car

(tho the 10 mile a day dirt road trips with suicidal F'ing pheasants are taking there toll on my windshield/grille/lights

  • Ford has a funny way of making small engines that are inflippingdestructable. The V6 in my truck will run forever too, it seems.

  • i have the 2.0 4 cylinder ranger this bitch has finnaly killed over at 2,313,233 miles and the block cracked

  • 196k on my Ford Probe GT still does 130mph at the drop of a hat

  • @xsonz2 but its a kia engine.

  • @DJisaBaker667 No it's a Mazda engine and trans with a Kia platform, and "shitty" ford emblems on it. I wish to god it said Mazda on it instead of ford, I hate fords!

  • @kowalskideahl my bad. either way still shitty. Long lasting and good gas mileage, but they do 0-60 in never. Sometimes you gotta go fast to get a good rush, and vibrating to the point where your teeth are about to fall out when your going 65 mph and redlining in fifth gear wont cut it.

  • @DJisaBaker667 Not even close. They do 0-60 in ten seconds. The same as my 03 Honda Element for instance. They are not quick but they are NOT slow.

  • @neanderpaul Yeah, it's sad that that's better than my junksicle sitting in the driveway. 2001 Dodge stratus coupe 2.4. It's A mitsubishi eclipse with dodge panels and six fatties riding along. Since it's a mitsubishi engine I don't even wanna try going fast, I need this car and I dont need to blow an engine today.

  • @DJisaBaker667 No its not. It is the mazda B3.

  • @xsonz2 , mazda made this engine.

  • If that odometer is accurate that means you were driving 72 miles on average EVERY day.

  • considering I do a 65 mile commute, each way, 5 days a week. PLUS bombing around town and weekend trips, I would say its pretty believable....

  • my dad drove from Ottawa, IL to Burr Ridge, IL every day that over 70 miles one way! You should see his Sadern, (460,000+ miles!) They don't make them like they used to.

  • WTF

  • youre crazy man!

  • oh man i had mine up to 400K

and i had to do a tranny swap =P

  • my dads 1992 cavaliar went 650,000 miles then he donated it because it wouldnt pass the smog check

  • 3.1, Right? i doubt the four popper would make it that far..

  • no it was a 2.0 4cylinder the guys that picked it up when my dad donated the car where empressed, my dad had it for 15 years but took really good care of it

  • sorry 1.8 4cylinder

  • jesus! ive got a 405 glx 1994 1.9 td, it's got 299989. still runing great, if a bit smokey. have u still got the car

  • mine has 265k

  • FYI festiva is made by kia. its a exact copy of mazda 121. kia mass produced it and ford put their badge on it. this is actually a japanese car. sorry to say that american cars are not as built to last.

  • If made by kia(Made in korea) how how could it be a mazda(japanese)?

  • It has 100% mazda design and components. It is merely assembled in korea.

  • i agree i don't like american cars much but i have a friend that has a festiva here in new zealand and it s a good car

  • @ricefighter2003 Holy cow! Somebody got it exactly right!!! In a sea of comments here stating incorrectly that it is a kia design, kia engine, or a ford engine, ricefighter2003 gets it right!! Rock!!

  • that enough to replace a NEW YORK MTA Bus lol

  • My dad's festiva is working at 225k right now. Im afraid it won't make it to half a million though. Even a poorly maintained festiva last's.

  • wow 800 000 kms

  • fastfirebird1969. Funny you should say that about American cars. My dad owned a Festiva once. Funny thing is that the body had a sticker on it that said made in Korea and the engine had a tag that said Mazda. Not sure on the auto tranny. Too bad it got wrecked awesome little car. Unfortunately not a real Ford. Not that it matters.

  • Ford still sells the festiva in Europe and the diesel version get 65mpg. I hope they bring it here, to the United States well congratulations.

Who Says American cars dont last there are Jap cars that bit the dust at half that mileage.

  • I am European. Ford don't sell this car in Europe. Ford sells the Ford Fiesta. Ford Fiesta is much better than the festiva, but it is a cheap car here in Europe too. Ford Fiesta will be sold in United States again in this year or the next.

  • Comment removed

  • Hazendado,

whatever. when you see 1 fiesta with even 300,000 miles we can talk about it standing in the shadow of the mighty festiva. 300,000 is the AVERAGE lifespan of a festiva. It is a far superior car to the same year or any year fiesta.

  • It will be build in Thailand in the same factory where Mazda 2 is build now.

  • my 1989 ford festiva has a sticker in the door that says, manuifactured by KIA motors for the FORD motor company

  • Awesome! My first car was a 1990 Festiva that my Dad bought new. It was a great car and incredibly tough for its size.

  • Nice. The unstoppable little car...

  • my mom does like 250000 miles every like 4 years when she drives to work because her work is like 1hr 15mins away from my house.

  • wow that is incredible for such a little car....

  • Oh my god! Is this on original engine/trans?

  • Ford is the best car company out there. Best quality, best design. The Festiva is amazing!

  • Its Mazda engineered

    Kia built

    and Ford badged

Everyone stop acting like its an American car

  • You hit the nail on the head.

  • @DFC222 Hate To burst You Bubble buddy but Ford Makes Mazda So It acutal Ford Engnered

  • @brooklynnboy26

    o really?

    in 1988?

  • @DFC222 Yep Sure Did...

  • @brooklynnboy26 Ford doesnt make shit, get your head out of your ass. The Fusion is a Mazda6, NOT the other way around. The Euro Focus is a Mazda3, not the other way around. This has been an established business deal since the 70s (Ford Laser, Courier, Telstar and many models youve never even heard of that sell WORLDWIDE are all Ford badged Mazda's built in Japan. Guess what, the international market combined is much bigger than the american one, only place where morons believe what you believe

  • @youngbleeb First of all my head has been outta of my ass, ever since they made ford.i think ford sucks everything about it ExPSILLY there trucks!!And Yes Ford Does Make Shit There Fucking Cars!are SHit! And The 4.6 v8 IS SOOOOOOOOOO UNDERPOWERED!!!231HPp For A V8 TRuCK? My 2004 Nissan Altima 3.5sev6 has 245Hp And 215 Toruqe.....Its Sooo Muhc Better Then Shitty Ford

  • @brooklynnboy26 You are an idiot. Ford has the best trucks out there. Go buy your foreign shit.
